BANG!

Tears rolled down her cheeks as she thought about her beloved daughter.

There were times where she wondered if she could ever see her again. How was life going for her? She wondered if her daughter suffered in the hands of that evil family or if they treated her well.

No... Take out that last thought. She knew her daughter will never live in peace with them.

Listening to her daughter's sobs broke her heart. She pretended to be asleep, but she could feel the same emotions that her daughter was feeling. Mu Huiling only cared for her daughter's feelings that she totally disregarded the fact that there was a gun pointed towards her at that moment.

She wished she could've been stronger. She always blamed herself for ending up in this situation. If she could've been more cautious, she wouldn't have been caught. Her daughter wouldn't have suffered so much.

She glanced at the young lady in front of her and questioned softly "How do I know I could trust you? How do I know you're not with them?"

Yang Jia sighed, it did seem a little suspicious coming to this place out of nowhere "I hope that you trust in my words. Even if you don't, you won't be here any longer. The police are coming and they are going to shut this down. Everything is going to be over soon"

Mu Huiling sighed internally at the girl's obliviousness. This lab was only a small part. There was no way it could end just like this. There is someone powerful behind all of this, but who is it?

Mu Huiling decided to trust Yang Jia and slowly nodded. She stood up from the bed, but an alarm bell started rang so loudly that it could make anyone go deaf.

The door suddenly burst open and a few bodyguards came in while a middle aged man was standing in between them.

Yang Jia was shocked that they found out so quickly and immediately stood in front of Mu Huiling in a protective stance. She closely observed this man's features as his footsteps grew louder and louder as the distance between them shortened.

The similarity was faint, but she could see it. This was Tang Xiu Ying's father. He definitely had similar features as Tang Jue though. Just like a replica.

"Oh? I didn't know we had a visitor... Let me apologize for not treating our guest the way it needs to be treated" Tang Dingxiang said with a smile on his face.

It didn't go unnoticed to Yang Jia the smirk behind his disgusting smile.

"No, I just came here to pick this lady up. We were on our way out, so if you pardon us." Yang Jia said as she grabbed Mu Huiling's hand and tried to walk to the exit of the room.

Two enormous bodyguards covered the door making them unable to leave.

Mu Huiling raised her brows in surprise as she saw how relaxed Yang Jia was acting in front of people that have probably killed before.

'This girl is interesting' She thought.

"Young Lady, I think you shouldn't speak to someone like me this casually. Have your parents ever taught you manners?" Tang Dingxiang said.

"I'm sorry, I've been rebellious at a young age sir" She shrugged off his statement. The sarcasm was evident in her tone.

Tang Dingxiang clenched his fists as his eyes flared up. This girl was getting on his nerves. He signaled his subordinates and they quickly moved.

"Little girl, you're going to regret ever speaking to me that way" He said and then turned towards Mu Huiling. "Who would've thought that you just woke up. This is really interesting...

Were you fooling us all this time? I've got to say that I'm impressed by how you managed to pull through in this kind of place without going crazy...

Tsk tsk, too bad you're not going to see the light of day after today" He said as the bodyguards moved closer to both ladies.

Yang Jia sensed a man coming at her and immediately dodged it and gave him a punch on his face.

The blow came so fast that the man couldn't react. One second he was walking towards her to give her a lesson and the other he found himself in the ground and blood dripping down his nose.

The bodyguards noticed how Yang Jia defeated one of their top men with only just one blow and stopped for a second before all of them began to rush towards her all at once.

Yang Jia stood there confidently, fear could not be seen in her eyes and this made Tang Dingxiang a tad bit nervous.

What he didn't know was that Yang Jia was not so confident in defeating all these men. She knew she was strong, but let's be real. There are at least thirty men in this room. Yang Jia wasn't a super heroine that could defeat everyone without batting an eye.

If it was one by one, she could single handedly beat them, but all of them are ganging up against her.

She knew very well her limits. She could beat at least half of them, even more if she was in her best condition.

Yang Jia analyzed the best possible solution for the situation she was put into. She concluded to fight until the police came to the lab.

After she was done thinking, she felt an object about to hit her face. In a fast speed her hand moved and gripped the bat that was centimeters away from touching her face.

In one smooth motion, Yang Jia pulled the bar towards her causing the man to lose his balance.

She took hold of the bat and started swinging it to the men that were getting close to her and Mu Huiling.

Pain shot through her elbow as she knew that in this kind of fight she was bound to get hurt, but she wanted to get out of this place safely if possible without any major injuries.

She felt it sting and knew that it was just an external wound.

Distracted by the unexpected wound. Yang Jia felt being tugged away.

"BANG!"

Startled by the loud gunshot that could make someone's ear bleed. Yang Jia stood there in a daze as she noticed that if it wasn't because someone tugged her away from her spot the shot would be directed at her.

She looked behind and saw Mu Huiling standing behind herself. She looked at who was shot and widened her eyes.

The sound that she was supposed to be hearing was blocked by a sound of a ring from a bell that just kept going on in her head.

Tang Dingxiang leaned as he clutched his stomach in pain. Well he looked like he was in pain because of his expression. He looked like he was screaming from the top of his lungs, but she couldn't hear anything. The ring kept going and it blocked all sound.

She looked back and saw... Officer Wu? His hands were holding a gun. Smoke came out the gun as he lowered his arms and breathed heavily.
