Chapter 11 - Dinner

Walking in, An Fei saw that her Grandfather was in an armchair while Chen Xin was seating on the loveseat. She was not sure where to seat because the food was already placed right in front of them. If she were to seat on the other armchair, it will be too far away from the food.

They were talking and when they saw her, the conversation stopped.

She was wearing a white oversize long sleeve sweater that covered all the way down to mid thigh which covered the pair of shorts that she was wearing. Seeing the two pairs of eyes on her, she moved to grab the cushion on the other arm chair and sat on the floor beside her Grandfather's feet.

"Does she really like the floor so much that she is sitting on the floor again?" As he was thinking about this, Grandfather petted her head like a little puppy.

The girl was sitting on the floor was very focused on the books that was spilled all over on the coffee table. He walked over and she looked up smiling at her. He felt his heart stopped for a moment,

He lean over and was about to kissed her when he felt a hand on his arm.

"Xin, are you alright? I was calling you a few times and you were not responding. What was in your mind?"

"Nothing much. I might just be a little tired rushing around today."

"Then you should go back earlier later and rest. Lets eat before the food gets cold."

"I'm good. I would like to finish it and learn more from Miss An before I leave."

"That is good but if you are tired, don't push yourself. Fei Fei, how is the progress coming along?"

"It can be completed by tomorrow. After that, you can send the documents back to the teams to amend accordingly and it can all be done by the end of the week. So actually tonight there is no need to carry on. Mr Chen can go back after dinner since there is nothing much."

She was so happy with her Grandfather for giving her a chance to wriggle out of working with Chen Xin that evening.

Chen Xin noded his head in agreement.

"That's good. Xin you can come back tomorrow to learn again. Now eat more of the vegetables. Fei Fei, have more of the soup. The will reading is next Tuesday. Don't forget about it. The both of you are required for the reading. I missed my darling, how I wish she is here with us now so that we don't have to go through this whole thing about the inheritance."

"Grandfather, enough. Here, have some fish. Any plans for the next few days? Dr Wayne did say it would be good to do some exercises. What do you feel like doing? Shall we go visit the national park?"

"Ah... That sounds nice. Fei Fei, have all your things been sent over already? You will be staying here from tonight onwards right?"

"Why are you so anxious over this? I still have somethings back in my apartment. I might swing back later to get them."

"Xin, you can drop her off at her place on your way back?"

Cursing her Grandfather, she was wondering what is in his mind. One minute, he helped her to get Chen Xin out of the house. Now he is pushing her into Chen Xin's car instead.

Chen Xin is also starting to feel a little complicated and was not very sure how to answer. Since the elder has asked, he willl not reject him.

"Sure. If I drop her off, how will she be coming back?"

That question from Xin, caught the Grandfather Shen off guard.

"It's fine. I can swing by my place when we are coming back tomorrow from our walk. What do you think, Grandfather?"

"Hahaha... How silly of me. Sure, that sounds good too. Don't stop eating. We have to finish the food here, else Butler Chu might nagged at me later."
