Vorbuk's red eyes seemed to glow faintly. He could feel a dangerous aura coming from the faolan pack leader. Although the feeling was not heavy like when he once stood before the crystal tiger. It was more of a sharp feeling. Something about the faolan gave him the sensation that he was facing a swift blade.
"He's dangerous." Vorbuk muttered those two words out loud causing Prince Leo to glance down at him briefly.
The prince did not need Vorbuk to tell him the faolan were dangerous. Any faolan were dangerous regardless so it was only expected for them to not let their guard down in front of such beasts.
Shhiingggg!
A faolan's fangs were quickly blocked by the blade of Prince Leo's sword as the wolf had tried to lunge at him. He could feel the wolf refusing to let go of the blade as he tried to pull back.
A ball of fire swept past everyone's heads and collided into the faolan that was holding onto Leo's sword. The wolf was sent tumbling across the ground. Smoke wafted up into the air from its charred body. Blood pooling out onto the ground below causing the ground around it to wilt and die from the toxins inside its body.
"Next time warn someone before you throw fire in their direction!" Leo shouted, flustered, at Bredret's actions. If the dragon had missed by an inch it would have been him who went up in flames!
"Are you underestimating my skill to properly aim?" Bredret snorted and turned his head away as if he had been wronged.
"That has nothing to do with at least warning me in advance! What if I moved at the last moment?!" Leo truly could not comprehend how to handle Bredret at times like this.
Grrrrr!
The alpha faolan growled at the sight of the charred corpse of the faolan. A flint of danger and coldness could be felt from the gaze. His eyes slowly returning to the group until they settled on Bredret.
A chill swept through the area as the wind blew.
It happened in the blink of an eye.
The alpha's body moved forward at a speed that was impossible for the average eye to follow. It was not until the beast was already in front of Bredret that they realized their eyes could not keep up with him properly. The only one among them that was able to keep up with the beast was Ashley, the vampire.
Ashley's hand shoved Bredret aside as he took on the collision with the alpha. Both of them landing on the ground with the beast above him. With his bare hands he held the mouth of the beast open as he struggled to refrain from being bitten.
Without giving Ashley a chance to fight back the alpha's body twisted through the air. Distancing itself without hesitation as if it knew facing Ashley head on in that position was dangerous.
Not a sound was heard from the alpha as it flicked one of its ears back. As if the alpha had given the signal for the rest of the pack the faolan began to swarm in on the group.
Every attack was given against them with swift and sharp movements. They truly did feel as if they resembled swift and deadly blades. Each faolan was like a weapon designed for killing. Vorbuk felt the urge to shudder at the sight of them. No he did not have time for pondering over what they looked like in his eyes.
RRrrrr! Rrrr!
The alpha wolf made some noises as if it was trying to communicate with Vorbuk. Slowly taking steps in his direction as if targeting him now. He could not understand what the beast was trying to say even if he tried to communicate with him. They were both wolves, of different species, but Vorbuk's consciousness was not that of a pure beast like the faolan. He had no understanding of how to communicate with another beast. That was beyond his knowledge.
With a thought he tried to jump into the shadows to dodge as the alpha rushed at him.
BAM!
Vorbuk could not react fast enough and the alpha was body slammed against a tree. He could feel vibrations from the collision coming from the truck on his back. A prickling pain shrouded over his body from the rough bark against him.
The others were all blocked by their own attackers and could not easily make their way to give Vorbuk aid.
Zoe was using her barriers to try and hold the faolan back while the others fought.
Sounds from wind blades from Johan Lovette could be heard cutting through the wind to wound the beasts.
He could even smell the burning fire of the dragon as he threw flames at any beasts that he could take aim at from a distance.
"Vorbuk!" "Master!" He could hear Prince Leo and Ashley shouting as they realized Vorbuk was being pushed into a corner by the alpha faolan. The two of them were cutting through the faolan with their weapons alongside Daryl.
Strength.. If it was pure strength he would be able to at least counter the alpha.
Speed.. Vorbuk could feel his body lacked in speed. He could not keep up with the alpha faolan. No he struggled to even follow the speed of the faolan with his own eyes.
A heavy pressure began to fill the air around them.
Everyone's bodies hit the ground hard as they collapsed to their knees.
Vorbuk struggled to keep himself standing but his body was too weak from the strike he took from the alpha faolan. It was almost enough to make him collapse but instead his body was pressed against the ground from the violent pressure.
He could see the others gasping for air on their knees. The faolan had halted their attack as if they were waiting for someone or something to appear.
Thump. Thump. Thump.
His heart beat hard in his chest as he felt the situation had gotten much worse.
"You did well," An emotionless voice filled the cold night air as a man slowly stepped out before them dressed in black. "as I expected its his toys intruding on my business with Theapan."
Who? Vorbuk thought for a moment. That question was only in his mind until he heard the muttering of someone else.
"G.. God.. He's a god.." Bredret was gasping for breath as he shuddered on the ground. As a dragon he was extremely sensitive to gods. His entire being was screaming at him that the man before them was indeed a god.
"God Chynir," At that moment Johan Lovette struggled to push himself back up to his feet. Sweat was dripping from his forehead as he recognized which god was before them. Since he communicated with the gods it was easy for him to recognize many of the gods that were active among the mortal realm.
"Hmm?" Chynir glared at Johan Lovette with a questioning look. He was surprised the man could hold out against his aura in this state. Though for Johan it was hard to push himself forward like he was to speak up. Yet Johan felt he had to do something because he was the only one who held a position with the right to refute a god's decision. No matter how much Chynir wanted to kill them if he killed Johan Lovette it would anger the other gods.
"If you act recklessly here you will be condemning yourself to be further hated by the gods." Johan tried to persuade him.
"Hated by the other gods?" Chynir smiled mockingly as that idea seemed laughable to him. "Do you think I care about my personal image in front of those so called gods?"
