Chynir was not a god that was beloved by the other gods. The only god who went out of their way to look after Chynir had always been the eldest god, Iemis. If the other gods hated him or even went out of their way to hunt him. It did not bother him in the slightest. He was the second eldest god among the gods so he did not fear the repercussions that could occur by his actions.
"Even if you are a god you can not endure the wrath of that many-!" Johan wasn't ready to give in so easily.
"Enough." Chynir silenced him with that one word. Simple as that one word was the cold tone of his voice cutting Johan off was enough to make him second his decision to speak.
The god's eyes observed them closely as he walked around everyone. His steps were light and silent as if he was a phantom among men. Coming to a stop just a few steps from Bredret as he carefully looked over the dragon cowering in front of him. Bredret's body flinched when he saw the god towering in front of him.
Don't make eye contact! That was a firm resolve that the dragon told himself in his mind repeatedly. Firm resolve? Maybe it was more like his subconscious was pleading him to not look up. If he made eye contact he felt like that would be the end for him.
"You're the God Chynir?" Leo's weak voice could be heard even though he could not bring himself to his feet.
"Yes." Chynir did not even glance in the prince's direction as he responded effortlessly. Instead he watched as the wolf, Vorbuk, struggled to drag his weakened body over towards the prince. The faolan were no longer attacking but that did not mean it was any easier for Vorbuk to move. Chynir's aura was weighing the wolf down as if he was carrying a mountain on his back with every movement he made. It was slow and painful as if he could suffocate at any moment.
"Gods aren't suppose to meddle in mortal affairs.. Why are you so intent on disrupting the mortal realm?" Leo forced the question out. They could not run in such a state so they could only try to reason with him. At the least they needed answers.
"Hmm?" Chynir noticed the young tiger behind Leo and didn't move.
Silence filled the area as the god stood there frozen. There was something that seemed to flicker in his eyes for a moment when he noticed the young tiger.
"Why shouldn't I?" Chynir's question caused them to all go silent while wondering if they had imagined the look hidden beneath the god's eyes.
FFSSHHH!
An wary look was on Vorbuk's face as he watched the god vanish in thin air. Only to reappear in front of him.
Tap.
Chynir's cold hand gently brushed against the side of Vorbuk's face. There was no hint of emotion in his eyes. As if he was looking at a interesting toy he had found. Vorbuk's body shivered as a eerie feeling washed over his entire body down to the core. Did he teleport? Did he walk or run? No matter what they thought about it there was not a single person among them that could tell how the god moved so close to Vorbuk! Nobody could follow how he moved at all!
"I wonder what reaction he would have when another one of his things is broken before he could perfect it?" A smile was on Chynir's face. His words were whispered and yet they all could hear it clearly.
"Don't touch him!" Leo fought against the weight of the god's aura to raise his sword.
CLANG!
The sword swung towards Chynir only to be firmly caught within his bare hand. It vibrated upon being caught. The god's hand gripping tightly as the blade shattered to pieces.
"Children shouldn't play with sharp objects." Chynir's blackened eyes glared at Leo for raising a blade against him. He felt insulted that something worth no more then an ant to him would dare to show him such disrespect.
"Take care of them." The god's order caused the faolan to close in slowly around them.
Turning around to walk away from the group he held his hand that shattered Leo's sword with his other. Rubbing the palm of his hand with his thumb as if he was looking for something. There was no wound to look at so one could only wonder what the god would be searching for on his bare palm. A sense of longing in his eyes that nobody could see. He was not even aware of it himself.
"Dragon," Johan Lovette whispered weakly towards Bredret as he struggled to get closer to him. "Can you move all of us at once if we can get opening?"
".. If you don't mind causing a mass panic.. among anyone that could witness us move.." Bredret was struggling more then anyone to remain calm. His heart was beating like a freight train going wild in his chest. His golden eyes flickering with a gold light as his body was screaming in alarm.
To be honest Bredret was not sure himself if he would be able to refrain from fleeing the moment his body would shift into the dragon form.
"It's worth the try. Unless you want everyone to die here." Johan quickly retorted the words of the dragon. If they stayed with Chynir and the faolan wolves they were bound to die at this rate. Left with no other options Johan Lovette would rather deal with the aftermath of the Theapan king learning the group was hiding among the kingdom. It was better then everyone being slaughtered.
Chynir would have ways to follow them by air, but at least they would have a chance to flee. The faolan could not move among the sky like Bredret.
"Now!" Johan Lovette shouted as loud as he could in his weakened state.
His umbrella swung towards the faolan before bursting open. A white light enveloping his body as a large wave of wind blades cut through the air towards the wolves wounding several of them. The wounded wolves stumbled to the ground as more of them rushed forth with great speed.
Zoe's golden light shielded the group as best as she could but cracks could be seen on the shields as the faolan smashed against them fiercely.
While the two of them struggled to hold back the incoming attacks the others struggled to make their way towards Bredret. They could see his form growing larger and larger with a golden glow. Trees began to flatten beneath his body and a loud echoing bellow could be heard from his throat. l
Although Bredret's body still shuddered in fear of Chynir he knew he had to do something. He had to push himself through this situation or else the others would be put in danger. All his instincts were screaming at him and he was struggling to fight against those instincts with everything he had. This was a condition that was engraved into dragons. To go against the gods was something that dragons could not do that easily.
RRROOOAARRRRRRRRR!
The loud roar of a dragon rang throughout the mountain range.
Chynir stood there dazed for a moment as he saw Bredret take on his true dragon form. The dragon was massive and everyone was rushing towards it. They were climbing on top of the dragon as it began to beat its wings.
