Leo grunted as he poured more mana into his weapon. Mana could be felt coming from the wolf as well as the black flame grew stronger. Chynir's grip loosened as he forced the blade away from him before releasing it. Steam could be seen coming from the palm of the god's hand where he had been holding onto the blade.
A bolt of lightning struck down from the sky at the flick of Chynir's finger. The strike was hard to avoid for Leo. Although he was able to dodge it Bredret was not able to. The dragon could only stand there while he was attacking the barriers and endure his back being struck by the lightning. Roaring in pain the dragon felt angry which made his attacks more violent and desperate.
"You bastard! If you wound Bredret wouldn't you only be wasting him once you've already made him like this?" The Prince shouted as he struggled to maintain his balance as the dragon's body shook and moved.
"He is only one. I can easily claim many more in his place." Chynir laughed.
Why would he need to care about one dragon? There is a whole kingdom of them waiting for him to make use of in the future. Bredret was nothing more then a pawn he was finding temporary enjoyment in toying with.
The prince moved and swung his weapon again. Another bolt of lightning crashing down at him while he moved. He could feel Bredret's body wavering beneath them from the pain the dragon was enduring. The god did not care what happened to Bredret. Willing to walk all over the dragon as much as he wanted or needed to.
His weapon could not connect with the god no matter how many times he tried to swing. It was obvious to the prince that he was being played with. As he moved forward he caught a glimpse of a black figure shooting out from his shadow.
Vorbuk's body shot out from the prince's shadow and dove for Chynir. A black ball of mana forming in front of him. The mana was sent straight towards the god. Bursting upon impact as the black mana erupted and engulfed Chynir.
The wolf landed beside prince Leo and glared at the mana as it dissipated. From within the fading black smoke he could see Chynir wiping the side of his face off with a frustrated expression. His clothes had become a bit torn and ragged.
Vorbuk could see the sun beginning to rise in the distance.
[ Survive The Night Completed ]
A familiar voice rang out in the back of his mind.
"This is not the time for that." Vorbuk muttered under his breath. He did not care that he had survived the night. What was supposed to change once daybreak came? Chynir was still in front of them.
"You-" Chynir was going to speak but suddenly the god went quiet. He was not sure how to express how infuriated he felt.
A wave of lightning struck the dragon's back one after another causing Bredret to slowly collapse to his side. Chynir's anger could barely be held in so he released it in the from of torture towards the dragon he stood upon.
Vorbuk sent out another ball of black mana towards the god. Chynir had become wary of Vorbuk's mana so he quickly dodged it and moved towards the wolf. He was not afraid of the prince's sword because the mortal's strength was nothing in his eyes.
Dodging the blade of the prince he made his way towards the wolf with a swift sense of grace in his movements. His hand reaching out towards the wolf in order to grasp him by the throat. Vorbuk's body reacted quickly and dove into the shadows.
Even within the darkness the wolf's position could not escape the eyes of a god. Chynir could feel the wolf's presence no matter who's shadow he resided in. He watched the wolf move from shadow to shadow until he reunited with the crown prince.
Climbing out of the prince's shadow when he was out of Chynir's reach.
"You think I can't touch you because you two stand together?" Chynir mocked the idea.
"Of course we aren't a match for you. But at least if we are together we have a better chance against the odds." Prince Leo smiled brightly as he returned the mockery he felt from the god at their situation.
Chynir flinched as he got an uncomfortable feeling. It did not come from the two in front of him. No it was another feeling that he only got when that man was around. The god's eyes began to look around. Someone was definitely coming and they were coming incredibly fast.
"Has that guy finally lost it?" Chynir mumbled the question to himself. The energy the man was giving off was not like himself. It held a sense of anger to it.
Ba-Dump! Ba-Dump! Ba-Dump! Ba-Dump!
Vorbuk felt his heart begin to race as another heavy presence could be felt in the air. Darting his eyes around the area he tried to find the source to what he was feeling. It was strong. It was familiar. He had met this person before but he could not remember who or where.
There was so much weight in the air that the prince could no longer fight against it. Crown Prince Leo collapsed to his knees on the dragon. One god was already enough to make it hard to breath. Now that someone else had showed up and wasn't holding back their presence it had become too much for him to withstand against.
Vorbuk laid down beside the prince because he too felt the weight of it.
As the god's presence spread among the temple many people found it harder to stand. They struggled to keep their barriers going but less and less people could hold up against the presence of the gods. No matter how much someone trained and became strong very few could endure the weight the gods put on them if they did not hold back their auras.
At the arrival of the other god the battlefield on both sides was forced into a stand still. Not even the faolan summoned by the god Chynir dared to move an inch from where they were.
BOOOMMM!
Chynir was sent flying with a kick to his face. A trail of dust taking up the air along the land. His body was like a meteor crashing to earth.
The man who had just sent Chynir flying slowly descended from the air and landed on the back of Bredret. His shaggy gray hair waving in the wind. His empty white eyes watching Chynir struggle to climb back to his feet in the dust storm his landing had thrown up.
"Iemis." Chynir grit his teeth while rubbing his jaw. Spitting out a bit of blood to the side where he stood. A cold glint in his eyes as he gazed at the one he hated seeing the most. He could see the anger on Iemis's face where he stood atop the collapsed dragon, Bredret. Behind Iemis was the prince Leo and Vorbuk who couldn't move or utter a word at the moment.
