Chynir VS. Iemis (Part 1)

"Looks like you finally lost your mind and couldn't hold back." Chynir laughed at Iemis's anger as if he was pleased to see the god angry.

The light of the rising sun shined down on Iemis as he stood in silence. All anger that was on his face vanished as if it was never there to begin with revealing a calm and collected expression.

"Invalid." Iemis shook his head slightly as if he was denying the anger that Chynir was so certain he'd seen.

"The calmest one among us has finally lost his self control. After all these years I assumed you had no idea what it was to feel a thing at all." Chynir smirked as he spoke down to Iemis.

So even the oldest god among gods could loose control of his temper. Chynir found that thought laughable.

Casually stepping down from the dragon's back Iemis made his way towards Chynir. The weight of his presence slowly lessening in the surroundings. Iemis knew the mortals could not handle his power if he did not calm down and suppress his power. The god had no intent to harm the mortals in the surroundings.

Instead Iemis directed the full weight of his presence towards Chynir. Feint shaking could be felt in Chynir's knees. With the full blunt of Iemis pressuring down on him he felt like he was staring at a beast. A monster was what he saw in front of him.

"You're no different then I am so you should try to accept it." Chynir fought back against the pressure of Iemis by releasing his own heavy pressure in return.

"I do not deny that there is no difference between me and you. There is not even much difference between a god and mortal. Do you know what is the difference between the two of them?" Iemis thought about something as his colorless eyes never gave Chynir a hint towards what the man was thinking as he spoke.

"What are you talking about?" Chynir was beginning to feel annoyed with the way that Iemis was talking.

"The only difference between a god and a mortal is that for gods like us our lives are too long. It is the weight of the loneliness that gods are forced to endure. We can not easily forget pain because we live so long that the same pain only repeats and deepens the wounds. Gods are not unfeeling beasts after all.." Iemis gazed at Chynir as he spoke.

Indeed. Iemis was the eldest and after watching the other gods throughout their existence he had seen many gods who even resorted to hiding their existence because they could not endure the same painful experiences mortals went through. If a god became close to humans they would eventually have to watch them die. For a god death did not come to them easily so the countless times they would have to endure such things likes death, betrayal, abandonment they could only do the best to avoid such situations.

For a mortal who would die due to a short lifespan they could find the strength to move on and enjoy what short life they had left to enjoy. However for gods emotions were a burden.

Chynir was such a god. In front of Iemis he could only pity Chynir that he had witnessed slowly fall into the darkness inside himself. The man was the second eldest among the gods, the one who became a god after Iemis, and yet he had refused to let go of his attachment to the mortals after he became a god.

Iemis closed his eyes as he recalled the day he met Chynir. Chynir had been a child at the time. He had even named the boy. That could have been something insignificant to some people but for the child as he grew it had become something significant to him. As the years went by Iemis would even call out to him and ask him his name. The god had wanted Chynir to never forget his name. To not forget himself and give into the pain caused by the passing of time.

"Iemis!" Shides warped in behind Iemis while ignoring the existence of everyone else around them. "You left so quickly! Ack! Why does Chynir look like that!"

"Shides. Quiet." Iemis muttered in a calm voice. It was obvious from a glance at Chynir that the god had been kicked by Iemis upon the moment he arrived. The fact that Shides had mentioned it was clearly just to rouse humiliation in Chynir since Shides did not like the man at all.

"Yes. I apologize." Shides nodded quickly in fear that he might upset Iemis for speaking any further.

"And Shides.." Iemis thought for a moment. "Open me a gate and help the others here clean up the remaining pests this child left behind."

"Pardon?!" Shides was not sure how to respond.

A gate?!

Clean up this child's remaining pests?!

Is Iemis going to-? Shides swallowed his questions and did not ask further.

"Where will I be sending you?" Shides asked after a moment.

"This child needs some proper teaching so just send us home." Iemis had a kind smile on his face as if he was a caring parent. Yet behind that smile Shides could only shiver because he knew Iemis was going to seriously scold Chynir.

"On it!" Shides rushed to open a portal without hesitation right behind Chynir.

Chynir had no time to refuse behind sent away from Theapan. His body was slammed into from the front without a moments hesitation. A tight grip on his throat from Iemis's hand causing him to grunt in pain. There was a slight silver glow in Iemis's colorless eyes that made Chynir feel like the man was a angry spirit. No emotion could be determined from his face as those eyes glared at him without a word.

The world warped around them as the portal closed the second they passed through it. In a blinding light the world around them had shifted, distorted, and morphed into another realm.

The God's Realm. Chynir grit his teeth as his body was thrown forward and crashed into a vast open field. Grass knee high with endless flowers blooming from all around. In the distance they could even see the palace of the gods. It was large enough to put any empire in the mortal realm to shame. It was a beautiful realm for the gods to exist in without disrupting the mortal realm they watched over. Any god could come and go as they wanted. All gods could use space magic to move among the two worlds.

Chynir hated the god's realm. Being forcibly dragged back to the realm made him feel filthy and wronged in more ways then he could count. He could feel his blood boiling as he began to glare at Iemis with hatred for bringing him back into their realm away from the mortals.

"I think we need a moment alone," Iemis ignored the anger Chynir was expressing towards him. "you know how much I hate violence. I am incapable of killing regardless of mortal or god..."

"But I have no problem scolding someone who steps out of line." Iemis gave a rare smile that made Chynir's rationality to remain calm shatter.
