King Luke of Theapan Kingdom was a man who was not afraid to put his life on the line for the things that were important to him. The moment he knew Aoki was taken care of he proceeded to head into the camp of his werewolf knights. Taking in the surroundings as he heard the cries of men dying in battle against the temple. He had no idea why the god, Chynir, was so obsessed with dealing with Prince Leo and that beast at his side. The god seemed obsessed with his own hatred towards the beast.
Am I a selfish man? King Luke thought to himself as he rode through the battlefield towards the camp. His eyes did not linger on those dying around his small group as they rode onward. If he made eye contact with the knights dying he knew it would only cause unwanted emotions to well up inside him. He would not waver in his decision.
"Your majesty," One of the king's knights called out to him from the side on his own horse. "they seem to be putting more pressure on the generals side."
"Is it the prince from before?" King Luke asked the man. They wouldn't be able to recognize Vorbuk in beast form so using Prince Leo's name would be easier for them to recognize.
"No," The knight shook his head. "It seems as though the pope is acting on his own."
"Johann Lovette is attacking the general on his own accord?" King Luke hesitated. Something feels strange. Why would he suddenly go after the general so heavily?
"What should we do your majesty?" The knight asked.
King Luke pondered for a moment. Trying to consider his actions carefully in the situation that lay out before him. He was not given long to hesitate on his decision as they arrived in the center of the camp. Climbing down from his horse he heaved a heavy sigh.
"Be mindful of the prince's side that are inside the temple with the pope. He wouldn't be acting on his own against the general. Johann Lovette is," King Luke hesitated to finish his words. "unambitious. He wouldn't be interested in taking things seriously against the knights. At most he would want to drive us away while securing themselves inside like a hermit but if his attacks get more serious that means he's got motive from someone else."
"You mean-" The knight was cut off.
"If the general falls what would happen to the morale of our men? Be cautious." King Luke stated.
"Yes, your majesty." The knight replied.
Whistle~
A whistling sound could be heard. The sound caused them to still as it began to grow louder and louder. Echoing throughout the battlefield. It sounded beautiful and it resonated in the surroundings. That beautiful sound caused the king's expression to pale as he recognized the sound. How would a royal not recognize the call of someone with that element! Every royal desired those with Uriel's element.
It was at that moment when the beautiful whistle turned violent. Becoming a horrible screeching sound that felt like it would render a person incapable of hearing anything again. The sound shook the battlefield's morale as the knights began to grasp at their own ears. Wanting to block the sound, they screamed, blood dripped from their ears.
Not being directly in the battlefield did not mean the attack was any kinder for King Luke. Blood dripped from his ears as well as his feet stumbled. Grabbing hold of the horse he had climbed down from with one arm the king kept himself standing. His other hand holding onto the side of his head as the pain in his ears caused him to shiver.
The king's eyes looked up towards the temple. In the distance he could see Uriel and Prince Leo standing on the temple's wall side by side. As the sounds from Uriel began to calm down on the battlefield the prince's hands could be seen moving. Outstretched towards the battlefield the king could see the prince mumbling something to himself on the wall. They were too far apart to know what the prince was saying but it was clear to the king that the prince was casting out his mana. It was something even a commoner would recognize.
Hiss... Sizzle...
"Fire?" "It's raining fire!" "Ah! They are setting the surroundings on fire!"
King Luke could hear his men beginning to panic around him.
The prince's magic was not strong but his element was not something to be overlooked. Fire was a very destructive ability to control. Prince Leo was casting his mana outwards creating a fiery rain from above the battlefield.
Sparks of fire rained down from above. Those little sparks of flame were small but destructive in nature. As they rained down on the land they would ignite the tree tops and plant life. Spreading out the fire slowly picked up pace until it engulfed the field. It would be impossible for the prince to completely control the flames so he could only entrust the safety of the temple to those controlling the barriers. They could manage to push the flames away from the temple. That could not be said for King Luke.
"Have they lost their minds?!" King Luke grit his teeth as he watched the terrain going up in a blaze of flames.
"Your Majesty, what should we do?!" A knight hurriedly asked his king for orders.
"The fire wont spread all the way to camp. We're safe here.." King Luke felt his brows knit together in frustration. "Don't let up the attack. Proceed as planned."
"Yes, sir!" The knight replied and scurried off in a hurry to relay his king's orders.
King Luke had not seen the wolf among those near Prince Leo. Where has that beast run off to? He pondered where Vorbuk might have gone at a time like this. Certain that the beast was among those inside the temple there was one thing he failed to notice.
While the King's focus had been on the display that Uriel and Prince Leo were creating his eyes had been locked in the wrong direction. With a fiery rain falling from above as the prince lit up the battlefield like a guiding light the wolf had already swiftly slipped outside of the temple.
Vorbuk, Daryl, and Chase moved alongside the flames while the knights were shaken. Working carefully to avoid being noticed as much as possible. The combination of Uriel and Prince Leo's tricks had caused the people on the battlefield to be shaken up. It would take them a minute to collect themselves again and during that short opening they pushed out as much speed to evade the knight's vision as possible.
Retracting his attention from the state of the battlefield, King Luke turned to head inside of the royal's tent. Unlike other knights the king could not be placed in a tent similar to others. He might have came to join in with the other knights on the battlefield but naturally the king's tent was larger. A few larger tents could be found among the knights according to status the person held that resided inside. From the outside the king's tent could easily blend in with one of those larger tents owned by a general among his men. That was to hide the king's exact location among the knights from outsiders view. However inside the tent it was lined with elegant decor befitting his position as a king.
