After 100 years of this some calling this "dystopian" in nature, civilization grew back and evolved to form one country called "The United Communities of North America", better known as the UCNA. 

After the "Reconstruction Period" in North America, communities were built. Society flourished and rebuilt again. Everyone is restricted to their own world. When 15-year-old Griffin Spectral gets a rare job as an engineer, he feels excited of what's to come. But later on, he learns the harsh truth about his community. More clues pop out that broke his view that were meant to be hidden. His view on his community changes harshly and questions his "perfect" life and society.

Alpha: Book One of the Alpha Trilogy

I dozed off for an hour after dealing with Cato. He's sound asleep now, but I'm still exhausted. I try to stay awake, but the fatigue just overpowered me and feels like I'm going to a coma. The fatigue stopped suddenly and gradually my body and mind energized me. 


"Wow, what am I gonna do now?" I quietly muttered myself. 


I picked up the remote and turned on the holographic TV. I flipped through some ridiculous reality shows, which you can guess, may include some fight scenes, arguments, and more random moments that I can't even describe. As I continued to flip through 50 shows or more, it showed our community TV show. 


    The anthem was playing, it's different for every community, but our's, well, familiar? 


I decided to just "Ok, Ms. Official, what do you want?". 


She appeared in a holographic form in front of Alpha. She then gave this public announcement to all of us, and told us the same thing every year for the twelve-year-olds who are gonna transition to adulthood. 


"Welcome citizens of Alpha, I'm Daphne. I have no last name, but every year, we have this ceremony of advancement for all males only. The females you ask? They're not ready yet?". 


That last sentence really kinda puzzled me, females aren't ready for adulthood? Huh? Later on, 2 minutes later, she then showed the reminder of the location, date, and time. 


"Be sure you come to this beautiful ceremony, it's mandatory everyone.". 


Daphne disappeared and returned to the variety show I liked, it didn't brainwash me, like the other 50 that I flipped through earlier, but I'm kinda glad that I wasn't desensitized by it. The wealthy elite people can get that feeling. The gossip, death, and all sorts of wrongdoing led them to wanting more.
