CHAPTER 27: DAISY’S PLACE

Ru Lan rode the bike past an extensive but narrow road, it was a bit frightful and desolate with both sides densely wooded. The night air was a bit chilly but they could not feel it as their minds were currently occupied. All the while they had been on the road, Jason didn't say a word and Ru Lan didn't say anything either. They were both thinking about the outcome of the conversations they were going to have. It was not awkward at all because they didn't even notice the silence or the beauty of the night.

Both their minds was on edge and they both knew that the only thing that could make it settle will be to have this conversation and be done with it, while hoping for a positive outcome of course.

Soon Ru Lan stopped the bike and parked it in front of a huge rock. Jason was surprised at first because all he could see were trees on both sides of the road and this huge rock blocking them from moving forward, he thought that she was going to go around it when he had seen it earlier but he was surprised to see that she stopped right in front of it.

He didn't say anything though, he just looked on to see what she was going to do next. The truth is he was really anticipating seeing the place she would bring him, since she said it was her favourite place in the world.

He had quite a few expectations of how it would look like but he out all that in the back of his mind because from what he had noticed about Ru Lan today, all her surprises come in the most surprising way possible.

They both came down from the bike and removed their helmet. Jason looked around once more to know if there was something he could have missed. Ru Lan smiled when she saw him looking around but she didn't say anything.

She went up to the front of the rock and placed her palm on it. Then a path slid open on the side, she then went back to sit on her bike and asked Jason to sit on as well. She could have imputed her biometrics while she was still on the bike but she just wanted to tease Jason a little bit as that has now become her favourite thing to do.

She rode her bike past the path that was opened, as she was going further inside, the part she had just passed was narrowing and getting closed. When she got to the end of the path, she pressed a button on her bike and a voice said. Good evening Miss Kelton, welcome home.

Thank you Serene. Ru Lan said and smiled. Then she rode her bike further into the space. As they drove further, Jason observed the place, all around him were verdant meadows.

The space was extremely huge and he could not see the end of it, it was lush green and there were so many trees.

They soon came down from the bike and Ru Lan led him to a hill that was located at the back of something that looked like a vacation house. The sights were simply breathtaking. He was standing atop the hill, it was not very high and he could hear the sound of the trees, the gentle creaking and whispering sound of the leaves as they danced and swayed to the music of the wind.

He also heard the sound of water running so he looked in the direction, what welcomed him was the sight of a waterfall with water so blue, gushing down from the other side of the hill; one could smell the sweet and relaxing smell of flowers in the air. It wasn't just the sights that pleased the senses, the sounds, smell, and tastes were out of this world too.

Even the toughest of hearts would melt at the sight of this and Jason was only human after all. He was almost brought to tears by the beauty of nature, he fought so hard to keep the tears back, it seemed like this place had the power to make you reminisce the best moments you've ever had in life. Jason was lost for words, he felt like just saying that this place is beautiful will be degrading the beauty it actually portrayed. He had forgotten about all his worries about the conversation he wanted to have with Ru Lan and he was not the only one.

Ru lan was equally taken in by the sights. Even though she had been here countless times and had seen different seasons here, she could never get used to it. She had planted Daises, tulips, and Jasmine at the bottom of the hill and the smell was heavenly. She just breathed in the smell of flowers and relaxed herself.

Jason turned to look at Ru Lan. He was loss for words and neither of them had said a word to each other since they came in. They both looked at each other and Ru Lan couldn't help but think it was a great decision to bring

Jason here. She decided to break the silence because as much as she was enjoying his company, she knew that they had to set the record straight.

Welcome to Daisy's Place she said to him, and spread her hands as if to say, this is all me.

Then she asked him. What do you think about this place?

Its magical he said. It's Heavenly but how did you keep such a place in N Nation?

Well for what it's worth, you are the only person aside from my family that's ever come here apart from me. No one knows about this place. She said

Then how do you make sure people don't come here? He asked. He was extremely pleased to hear that he was the only other person that knew about this place.

Well people can't come to a place they can't see right? This place has been in my family for Generations and my Parents left it to me. She said

When she saw that he still didn't understand, she said. Okay! Serene helps me make sure there are no trespassers and this place is deserted which also helps. Right Serene? She asked.

Then the Robotic voice of Serene he had heard earlier at Serene gardens and when they entered this place earlier answered again from nowhere. Yes Miss Kelton, and welcome Mr Li.

Jason was shocked once again... How did it.... he had not even finished his question when Ru Lan laughed and interrupted him

What? Know it was you? She asked him.

Yes he answered. I notice there are no cameras here. He said and looked around once again.

Smart. Daisy said and wiggled her finger in front of him.

True, there are no cameras that you can see but it doesn't mean there are no cameras here. They are just well hidden and there are motion detectors about 4 kilometres around the whole place, there's also a facial recognition software embedded in the rock at the entrance which Serene used to recognise you. Your information from Serene Gardens earlier are already stored in my database and Serene can access them from there.

I see. You are really intriguing Daisy. You really are a can of unopened surprises waiting to be open. I can't wait to know more about you.

Jason said. But wait, how does the Minister of foreign affairs has the financial means to keep a place like this? Don't get me wrong, i don't mean to probe your dad or anything like that, i just feel that the wealth it will require to maintain this place is not something to joke about; it may even be enough to feed half of the nation. Don't get me started on this place, and then there's Serene Gardens, and

Blueveiw. Having such beautiful places and a very vivid imagination with the wealth to make them happen must not be an easy feat and no ordinary person or daughter of a minister could have all this. He said.

True talk. but i never said it was a minister's family did i? Said Ru Lan

Jason frowned at what she said, he remembered she had told him that she's had three Dads in this lifetime but she didn't tell him more. He couldn't help but wonder if the Kelton he had been hearing the robotic voice call her were the actual Keltons he knew about.

He shuddered at the thought and knew it was impossible because he didn't think anyone from that said family will stay way out here in N Nation or have various properties here. he decided to shrug off the thought and change the subject. So he said, I can't help but think that impressing you with beautiful things will be next to impossible because you practically drown yourself with nature everyday and there's nothing more beautiful than that. Jason said.

It's quite an easy feat actually, Ru Lan said. All you need is a well cooked meal to make me drool and not turn away. Her eyes were practically glittering as she talked about food.

Then should i be lucky that i can whip up something myself? He asked her

Well! If you can cook, then you can be my bestfriend. Ru Lan said

Jason was quiet for a few seconds before he replied. I'm not interested in been best friends with you though. He finally said.
