*Drip* *Drip* *Drip*
The SwordMaster that stood to the side of firelink shrine, in front of the bell tower as if guarding it. He was an NPC that would drop the Uchigatana which was a pretty good early game weapon.
*Drip* *Drip*
You might be wondering what that dripping sound is. Well it's two swords stabbed into my back. I forgot there was an ambush of two hollows here, so they stabbed me in the back. I killed them, but I'm not too worried about my wounds. It's just a flesh wound... okay it might be more than a flesh wound since I think one of them went through my rib cage. I think one of my lungs are pierced.
But I've been cut up and stabbed so many times in the past week in this world that I've become used to having mortal wounds on me at this point. I really should get Koneko to pull these out for me before I bleed out later. But first things first.
I stepped forward ignoring the constant blood seeping out of my stab wounds. I looked up to the man holding a weeb stick with god and anime on his side.
"While you studied the blade, I drove a truck." I spoke out loud getting his attention as he finally began to slowly walk down the stairs.
"While you sharpened your blade, I performed maintenance on a truck." He made it down the stairs allowing our eyes to meet face to face.
"And while you mastered inner strength." He took an Iaido stance ready to draw the blade, the moment he came into range. I could see his emaciated form twitch, signifying the moment of his draw.
"I ran people over." A giant truck dropped on his head, flattening him.
What? Did you think I was gonna fight him? Ain't nobody got time for dealing with a man who has the power of god and anime on his side!

I popped back into my home for a moment to get Koneko to pull out these swords from my back. It's kind of scary how unconcerned I've become to mortal wounds, but I guess I just got used to it.
"Oh you're already here." I noted as she was already in my man-cave. Does she just not have anything better to do? I guess it's because the semester hasn't started at Kuoh yet. She turned her head and blinked at the sight of my bloodied form.
"Again?" It's nice that her voice has always sounded flat instead of annoyed.
"Yup." I may or may not have called her multiple times to pull weapons lodged into my body for the past week.
"Turn around." She sighed as I took a seat on the stool. It's odd, she hasn't been charging me for these services lately. But eh, I won't question it.

You may be wondering at this point. If I've been lounging around Firelink Shrine for the past week, then why haven't I gone to the next area? Well it's because I'm waiting. What am I waiting for? I'm waiting for my body and the current world laws to adapt to each other.
You see, natural world laws can differ when it comes to other worlds. It's why some worlds have magic, some have esper abilities etc. What does this actually mean then? Well let's say my boss R.O.B were to reincarnate someone into the world of Naruto. They would have no issues with using chakra as they were born with chakra coils and the proper nervous system of that world.
Now if a person were to be transmigrated instead. Then they would have issues for awhile. The world laws would see them as a foreign element. However instead of trying to push it away, it would instead try to adapt it. Which means that eventually, a transmigrator's body would eventually adapt and develop the proper conditions needed to use chakra. Once that happens, the world laws would naturally accept them.
Now world laws aren't something like a sentient will such as Gaia and Alaya in the Nasuverse. No it's something more.... natural. Like a programming that automatically converted things to better fit. Of course if a person were strong enough, it's possible to resist the world laws from automatically adapting foreign elements, but that would be a rare case.
In my case, I'm waiting for my body to adapt to this 'Game' world. This world of Dark Souls 3. There are many versions of it that I could have gone to, but I chose a version that was close to the regular game. In the regular game, a person can use souls to empower themselves at the firekeeper. However I'm currently unable to do that, as my body hasn't adapted yet.
This specific version of the world adheres to game physics and laws. Which means the moment my body adapts, I'd be able to spend souls to raise my stats. It's honestly taking longer than I thought it would take. I've been here a week, usually it only takes a few days to be accepted by the world laws.
Raising my phone, I checked the app that tracked the progress of my body adapting to the world.
[Current progress: 97%]
Almost there. In theory the moment I adapt, I should be able to benefit and make use of the many features that this world allows. Such as armor automatically fitting onto you no matter your body size. Or a weapon that was huge, somehow resized to be easier to wield.
As far as the respawning mechanic goes however, I still wouldn't be able to make use of it. Simply because the laws that govern a soul is a bit different. Especially for people who work under R.O.Bs. When I die, I will always head back to my boss unless something odd happens, he would then pass me to the regular reincarnation cycle or afterlife depending on him.
[Current progress: 98%]
Despite this being a game world, the NPCs are actual people in a sense. This is a 'REAL WORLD', but at the same time it's a 'GAME WORLD'. It's just natural laws that made it like a game is all.
[Current progress: 99%]
Standing up from the bonfire, I make my way over to the firekeeper again.
"I'd like to level up" I spoke to her again despite this not working last time I tried.
She looked in my direction for a moment, unresponsive until I heard a ding.
[Current progress: 100%. Body has been accepted by the World Laws]
"Very well, then touch the darkness within me."
I can finally spend the souls that I've been hoarding for the past week.

"Rias wants to meet me?"
"Yes, it's been a week and you haven't introduced yourself like you said you would." Lately Rias had noticed her acting a bit oddly whenever she was waiting to be called. Of course she got interested and started teasing her about being excited to meet a boy.
"I did say that I'd do that, but I was planning to do it when your school semester started." Gold honestly didn't want to go meet Rias. Not out of a sense of danger or anything, he was just too lazy to go so he's been procrastinating.
"Why not now?" Koneko pressed the question, putting down her sweets.
"I don't feel like it."
"That's not a good excuse."
"Why are you so pushy about this? This is starting to feel like those situations when a girl wants her man to meet her parents.... is that what this is?" Gold asked with a smug grin.
Koneko blankly stared at him for a moment before reaching out her hand.
"Gah! It was just a joke!" he yelped as her pinch was empowered by her inhuman strength.
"Did you skin get harder?" She noted that his skin seemed to feel more thick.
"That's not the only thing that gets harder around here." he retorted
She gave him a piercing stare for a moment that was somehow able to express disgust behind her blank expression.
"What?! You've been hanging out around here a lot lately, so I've been getting sort of backed up." He hasn't been able to jack off because she's been around a lot lately. She even brought her own tooth brush that was left next to his sink.
"Pervert."
"It's a natural thing for every guy! And when I can't do it, I tend to resort to dirty jokes when I get passive aggressive." It was an odd method of coping, but it wasn't that bad.
He noticed that she continued to give him an unreadable look. Eventually he sighed. "I promise, that I will introduce myself to Rias and the rest of your peerage members when school starts." he promised as she knew that he was putting it off.
She nodded and went back to her sweets afterwards.
"If I did that, could I get a reward? Maybe you could help me out with my problem here?" He went back to passively hinting perverted crap just to annoy her despite knowing she would punt him through a wall if he went too far. He was hoping that eventually she would leave if he irritated her enough since he remembered she hated perverted stuff. However he got a response that he did not expect.
"Maybe some other time." It took a moment for Gold to process her response.
'Ecchi anime logic makes no sense' Gold thought as he tried to comprehend the logic of anime.

Ah, the High Wall of Lothric. The first area of the game if you didn't count the Cemetary of Ash and Firelink Shrine. Taking in the sights, I've noticed that the size seems to be the same as in game. Which is great, it meant that I wouldn't have to spend half an hour trying to figure out where to go.
Before coming here, I had already upgraded my stats with the bit of souls I had from hanging around the shrine for a week. I chose to upgrade Vitality. Now Vitality was a stat in game that most people would never level unless they just wanted to screw around because it didn't actually increase your health pool.
It instead increased your carry weight and made your damage absorption higher with each point. It wasn't worth it in the actual game, but for me it was worth doing since it would allow me to wear heavier armor and carry heavier weapons. Before, I had trouble with anything that wasn't a regular sword or spear. But with my vitality increased a bit, I should be able to go find some armor to wear.
Now, I wouldn't be able to be like people who had 'The Gamer' power which had no limits to growth. In this world, there is a limit to how strong you can get and it's probably similar to the regular game where the soft cap was around 40-60 depending on the stat.
Once you hit the hard cap that was usually 60, the gains were incredibly small. So a person with 99 strength and a person with 60 strength weren't really different as far as performance went.
Walking past some hollows, I reflexively tilted my body as the blade flew past my arm and tripped the undead that was actually hostile to me. After a week of fighting hollows around the shrine, regular hollows became easy and predictable to handle.
Hearing the familiar hacking growl, I notice this hollow had a chain mail and an axe. I want that axe. While I like the Uchigatana I got from the Sword Master, it's easier to use an axe in my opinion. Oh wait, there's another hollow that has a halberd nearby.
Hearing the familiar sound of a crossbow bolt being let loose, I rolled out of the way. Yes! I can finally roll without hurting myself! After my body adapted to this world, it's as if rolling became second nature to me.
I glanced at the crossbowman and shot a sword from the gate at him. I didn't like dealing with ranged enemies, so I just pick them off with the gate whenever I see them. The hollow with the greataxe finally noticed me, I back stepped his lunge and stabbed him in the face with the Uchigatana.
Picking up the heavy axe, I noted that it felt lighter than I thought it would be. That Vitality is really paying off. I hurled the great axe at the halberd wielding hollow. Looting the halberd, I considered taking his helmet but the axe ended up splitting right through it. Oops.
Good news, I don't think I'll have to call Koneko to pull weapons out of me for awhile.
"Psst, what are you guys doing?" I tried to talk to the praying hollows that weren't hostile but they ignored me. I opted to ignore them as I didn't want to waste the energy killing them.
*SCREEE* Oh right, this guy turned into one of those abyssal creatures like Gundyr.
"Firebomb!" I chucked a firebomb at it. It shrieked in pain as it was weak to flames. I took the moment to stab it's host through the skull, letting it die before it burned to death.
"Huh, a bow." I don't know how to wield bows. I'll just throw it in the gate as a souvenir.
Continuing my trek through the area, killing everything in my way for souls and ignoring a fire breathing drake. I finally found what I was looking for. The sound of clanking plate became obvious as the Lothric Knight stepped out the door.
"Well hello there, I'm gonna need your armor. You wouldn't mind donating to the Gold's Retirement Foundation would you?" It ignored me and started running at me with it's shield and sword raised. "Well, it's not like you had a choice anyway." A truck dropped right on him, flattening the knight.
Now you might be wondering. Wouldn't his armor get damaged if I dropped a truck on him? The answer is, Yes. Yes it would get damaged. But the thing is, I'm not trying to get the armor that he's specifically wearing.
Letting my truck back into the gate, I stepped over to the flattened corpse of the Lothric Knight. There was a white glowing ball right ontop of it's corpse. Reaching out for it, it turned into a pair of gauntlets that were exactly my size.
This is a game world, if I used equipment that aren't found as loot, then they would have similar properties to real life. Such as the wooden club that I had at the beginning of this journey. It immediately broke after a few bashes to the head. Putting on the gauntlets, I ran past the dagger hollow in the corner and up the stairs for the bonfire.
Sitting down on it for a moment, I stood back up, walked downstairs. Looked at the Lothric Knight that was once again alive and wryly smiled.
"I'm gonna have to start farming." I might have to pray to RNGesus for the rest of the armor set. I don't want to be here too long.
