Stakeout

Vordt of the Boreal Valley. An Outrider Knight of Pontiff Sullyvahn who eventually became corrupted to the point that his body mutated to the size of a giant. He was also known as the dog of the Boreal Valley. Although that might not be correct, the entire lore of the souls series was never obvious.

Lately, I've been spending most of my time farming souls and practicing magecraft from Gilgamesh's book. I was finally able to get the basics of modern magecraft down. Although it was just structural analysis, reinforcement and gradiation air. Since I now have a source of magical energy from when my body adapted to this world, I can increase it as I raise my stats.

*ROAR* a bestial howl came from my back.

I watched Vordt's massive form appear behind me on all fours as he let out a deep bestial roar. His giant mace is probably enough to flatten me in one hit. But I'm not actually here to fight him, I wanted to try doing something out of boredom.

You see, as I've been taking inventory of the Gate of Babylon. I have come across a lot of miscellaneous relics and artifacts. I casually exchanged some for a hefty amount of credits. Now what did I do with those credits? Well I bought 2 of the same item. Which was surprisingly expensive, but I was bored and was curious on what would happen if I used one of them on Vordt.

The sound of shuffling armor clanked out as Vordt slowly approached me in his boss room. I wasn't wearing a helmet right now since the Lothric Knight helmet made me incredibly uncomfortable. The slit for the eyes was too small and whenever I breathed, the inside of the helmet would slowly fog up.

A gold portal opened up, dropping a small purple sphere in my hand. I clicked the single button on it, allowing it to expand in size. Once I judged the boss to be close enough, I lobbed the purple sphere at him. The sphere popped open as Vordt turned into red particles that were absorbed into the sphere. The ball shook a few times before remaining still.

"I caught a boss!" I shouted out excitedly as I raised the Master Ball.

That's right, I spent credits on two Master Balls from Pokemon just to see if I could catch something that wasn't a Pokemon. I regret nothing as it was a success!

"Mission accomplished!" I declared while heading to the next area of the game.

Gold sat silently in deep thought in front of the Dragonslayer Swordspear. He could now carry it with his increased stats and using reinforcement on his body. But he couldn't use it still. Why? It was 16 ft long for some reason.

"Why is it so long!?" he wondered what his boss was thinking when he sealed Rhongomyniad's light into the weapon. The weapon was so long, that it was just awkward to use.

"I feel like this was made for giants." he remembered the Nameless King from the game. He was more than twice the player character's size. So using this spear wouldn't be difficult for him. When the player got the spear after transposing the Nameless King's soul, it was noticeably shorter in length to fit the player's size.

Standing up to grip the spear, he reinforced his body to swing it around. It really was awkward to use. Stopping his attempts to find a proper stance to use, he took a moment to appreciate it.

"If only you were more fitted to my size." he sighed as the weapon seemed to pulse out a soft light in response. The towering weapon became shorter as the grip seemed to reduce in girth. Gold stared at the changed weapon for a moment.

"SINCE WHEN COULD YOU DO THAT!?" he shouted out incredulously. In response head of the spear flashed out a few times.

He had learned that his weapon seemed to have some sentience.

Today I have actually chosen to leave my man-cave and walk around a place that wasn't filled with the undead and abominations. Obviously I am out here for a reason. I'm looking to befriend the protagonist. Now you might be wondering, why in R.O.B's name are you trying to befriend the protagonist? Well think of it this way, it's like going back in time and befriending a guy that was going to be rich and famous one day.

Is this a selfish reason? You're damn right it is, but I don't care. If I have the chance to get a powerful friend with the least amount of effort, I am going to take it. There is however a problem.

"Sorry, I haven't heard of anyone by that name." The 10th person I've asked replied as I stood there with questionable thoughts. How would a guy like Issei not be known? If anything there should be at least some girls who had heard of his perverseness before.

Sitting back in my truck, I navigate through the screen. There's a GPS system in the truck that allowed for tracking down a person in the same reality. Sometimes when on the job, a target might be difficult to find for whatever reason. So just typing in their name would give drivers a method to figure out where the individual was.

"Issei....Hyoudou." Typing in the name on the screen, I waited for the system to process the request. However something odd happened.

[Error: Individual not found.]

'What the hell?' Even if he were thrown into the dimensional gap, I'd still be able to track him down. If a person were to die when you attempted to track him down, the system would be able to tell me that, but it says that the individual wasn't found.

Did the boss throw me into an alternate reality where Issei doesn't exist? But then who the hell is going to deal with Trihexa and all the other nonsense? I don't want to do it, I'm on vacation! Protagonists exist for a reason!

Hold on, maybe Issei was just named something different in this reality. What were his parent's names again? I really can't remember, I didn't pay much attention to his parents when I watched the anime.

"What if I just narrowed the search criteria?" I typed in the name Ddraig instead. Even if Ddraig was stuck inside a sacred gear, the system should still be capable of finding him.

[Individual located. Initiating tracker.]

Following the direction of the tracker, I drove up to a pretty average neighborhood. I guess this is the house, the tracker is showing that Ddraig should be in the house. Now what? It's not like I can just go in and ask 'Hey, by any chance is there a protagonist with Ddraig inside them living here?'. That would sound odd, I guess all I can do is wait until someone comes out.

"Activate stakeout mode please." I spoke out loud as the truck began to disappear. This isn't the same as cloaking itself. Stakeout mode makes it that the truck hides itself in a dimensional layer, making it difficult to find.

"I feel like the ultimate creep" Am I being incredibly creepy by sitting outside someone's house and waiting for them? Absolutely. Is this the first time that I've done this? Nope, you have to try to get the least amount of collateral damage when running someone over. So there have been times when I've had to wait months outside of someone's house, just because they were shut-ins. Eventually they had to come out for food or other necessities.

There was a time, where a person literally ordered all their needs online and had them delivered. When that happened, I literally just crashed my way through their apartment. The damage caused was taken from my own pay, but that guy was never going to come out.

"Tell me when the target exits the building please." With that, I sat back and started browsing through sorcery scrolls that I've found.

[TARGET HAS EXITED. TARGET HAS EXITED. TARGET HAS EXITED] The repeating words continued to sound out from the system like an alarm as Gold was still heavily asleep.

"Uggh..." Gold's gray eyes cracked open after a few more minutes of constant reminders from the system.

"Ah.... I'm up." he rubbed his eyes with a yawn, shutting off the alarm.

[Target is moved 400 feet.] it informed as he turned on the ignition.

Slowly moving towards the direction that Ddraig's current host was in, Gold washed his face as the autopilot turned on.

[Target is in view.]

Gold looked over to the local grocery store as a figure walked out with a bag. His pupils seemed to constrict as he felt like the world was ending.

Slowly exiting his truck, he moved towards the figure.

"I-Issei Hyoudou?" Gold hesitantly asked as the person in front turned to him.

"Oh no, I'm Akemi Hyoudou." She replied as Gold seemed to drop to his knees in horror.

"Please... please tell me you like Oppai!" Gold seemed to be grasping at straws at this point.

"Um, I.. think they're okay?" She seemed to hesitantly reply at the odd display.

"NOOOOOOOOOOO!" his indignant cry to the world made the girl jump in surprise.

Gold had found that he was in a world where the protagonist was genderbent.
