Siege

Everyone stared at the knocked-out weapon, both sides wary of the kid, and only four kids were staring at him with unveiled fascination.

"That was so cool!" Said Matt, obviously itching to try what Red did, but he was held back by Truyle.

"THEIR SIEGE HAS FAILED! SOLDIERS! CHARGE!" The General screamed with a blaze in his eyes as the soldiers started hacking through the dwindled Elvish forces, finally achieving their desired kill count.

"FOR THE ARMY!"

"FOR THE ARMY!"

"FOR THE COLONY!"

"Wait what"

"Huh?"

"FOR THE AAARRRMMMYY!"

Shouts could be heard as both sides started throwing arrows, clashing swords, and eating grass. One soldier thrust his sword and gutted the elf in front of him, the Elf suddenly started telling his life story but before he could finish, the soldier already started fighting another elf.

It was chaotic as it was.

The kids wanted to drag Red off the battlefield to learn his secrets, but they weren't the only ones.

The Elves secretly thought that the kid was a secret love child of a human and an elf with his magic prowess, and they planned to take him with them, but thought it more thoroughly.

One mage who was offering support whispered to his mate besides him, "Didn't that kid said that he hates ugly?" To which his mate replied, "I don't know, I don't speak Common."

The war went on for 4 hours, to which the kids watched patiently halfway, and left after the 2 hours mark. One of the soldiers carried Red towards the General but before they could react, Truyle took the boy from their grasp and left for her Clinic.

Red awoke once again in the Clinic, and he felt like slamming his hands on his keyboard. He was seething with rage that he couldn't defeat those Elvish curses and that he couldn't maintain his explosion spell longer.

'Am I slowly turning to Megumin?!'

[DING!]

'Huh?'

[USER HAS UNLOCKED THE ANIME: Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku o! (KonoSuba) EPISODES 1 AND 2]

Red felt like smashing his non-existent keyboard, but before he could scream like a 5 year old girl (which he probably could— he's a 2 year old kid anyways), Truyle entered through the door with a tray of snacks, smiling amicably with a deadly aura.

Red felt a cold shiver running through his spine like Usain Bolt as Truyle started to smile wider. "Oh? You're already awake, Red?" She said in an ever-enchanting way.

She set the tray onto the bed as she looked into Red's eyes, almost like an investigator looking into the suspect's soul to see if they were lying.

"So, can you tell me about what that was earlier?" She said with a smile, and Red started panicking.

'Oh Gods! I can't go around telling everyone about the System! Quick! Red! Think!'

A thought dawned on Red as he started to act (professionally, at that) drowsy as he replied in mumbles and grumbles.

"Oh? You want to sleep more? Good, good. Get some rest, Red." She said with an underlying threat to it, which made Red want to cry hard, and with that, she left.

Red sighed and stared at rhe notification, and with that, he started to play episode 1 to gain even one thing from the anime, but all he got was:

[USER HAS UNLOCKED 'WISH' FUNCTION. USER CAN CLAIM 1 DAILY WISH, AND USER CAN WIN ANY ITEM RANGING FROM MORTAL TO EARTH TIER.]

Red wanted to cry, super hard, because he just got a wheel of fortune that he doesn't understand how it could be beneficial for him, but used it anywas since he tries to be positive.

[DING!]

[USER HAS GAINED MORTAL TIER SKILLBOOK : Illusion FROM HEAVENLY SET: Unending Illusion Arts]

Red felt relieved that he could win sets, but he couldn't help question the system.

'Hey, I thought you needed one to become a Ethereal or Divine being? What's with the Heavenly Set?'

[ANSWER TO USER'S QUERY: AS WE SPEAK, MORE USERS ASCEND TO HEAVENLY REALM, BUT NONE HAS ASCENDED FARTHER THAN ETHEREAL BEING OR GOD IN HUMAN TERMS. THE CURRENT RANKING OF ITEMS ARE AS FOLLOWS: ??? > Divine > Heavenly >Supreme > Earth > Mortal.]

Red shrugged, he wasn't going to be a Ethereal Being or God anytime soon, so he checked the stats for the skill he just got.

[Skill: Illusion

Tier: Mortal

Rank: C

Cost: 2 Mana/second (*3 per meter range)

Effect: Uses the surroundings to form a basic illusion that confuses anything within, or fool anyone who is looking at it]

Red stared at it and felt relief that he could use some form of defense method. He checked on his own status so that he could calculate how long he should keep his illusion.

[NAME] Red Lith

[HEALTH] 50/50

[STAMINA] 100/100

[MAGIC] 1500/???(Locked)

[ATTRIBUTES]

•Explosion

•(Locked)

[Titles]

•Dead Broke

•Young Prodigy (Locked)

Red felt intense grief overcome him as he stared at the locked attributes and locked mana pool, but couldn't do anything about it.

'System, answer me honestly, where did my Magic go?'

[...]

[It went to a better place, Bryan.]

'So I never get it back?'

[Pssh, you're blessed by the gods of this realm. With the help of your past lives you can use magic again!]

'But you locked it out'

Red didn't feel like squabbling with an annoying system who takes mana indiscriminately, and so he watched another KonoSuba episode and watched it with a dejected heart he did.

DING!

[USER HAS GAINED ONE WISH]

Red felt like trying his luck anyways so he spinned the wheel of fortune.

[USER HAS GAINED ONE MORTAL RANK APPLE]

He wanted to cry so badly, today was just a load of BS and he felt like his past lives were better than this treatment of the system.

'Are other users doing better than me?! Yes! Will I ever become Overpowered?! In Mortal senses, yes. In Heavenly senses? NO!'

[USER, BE PROUD THAT YOU ARE ONE OF THE NEW ONES, THE ORIGINALS SACRIFICED A LOT SO THAT YOU COULD ASCEND AND HELP OUT.]

Red felt even more betrayed that he wasn't he OP type, nor was he the Persevering and Hardworking type that gains the love and respect of his readers/viewers. He was a middle ground, and he wanted to sulk.

'Well, let me use my magic to help you out then!' Red retorted.

[NO. THE MANA LOCKDOWN IS BENEFICIAL FOR YOU IN THE LONG RUN. WAIT UNTIL YOU ARE 18 BEFORE YOU ASSUME THAT POWER IS WITHIN YOUR GRASP.]

Red sighed and felt the system made a little bit of sense, so he forgot about everything and returned to sleep.

But as his head hit the pillow, his eyes stared at the readers, you, and said:

"You'll have to wait for the next hundreds of chapters to find out if I get my mana back. Goodluck on the waiting"
