Ch. 24 : The Hero and the Princess's Guardian
"Report your majesty, the princess's carriage have arrived at Sorst. They are currently heading to the castle." (Soldier)
One of the soldier just reported about the arrival of the princess. It's already night when the report came. I am just heading back to my room when I heard the conversation in the corridor. The king that saw me coming immediately approaching me when the report finished.
"Did you hear that, great hero? My daughter has come back now. Please prepare yourself because we will welcome her." (Eric)
Finally, the time has come to me to make her a part of my harem. After that, I regain the control among the castle when I succeed it.
"As you wish, your highness."
And with that, I fasten my walk to my room and prepare myself for her coming. I will use the best clothes I have with the best equipment for make a good first impression. I will try to make her fall for me without using [Charm] this time.
After changing, I walk to the hall and I see that the king is waiting for me. I approach him and have a little talk while heading out to the gate. Not long after that, I can see a march of carriage approaching here. Among those carriage, there is one who different in color and shape. The carriage is white and has the royal crest on the door. It is definitely the carriage where the princess is.
The march stopped and the white carriage's door opened in front of us. But it is not the princess that came out but a man that younger than me with a white hair and coat with a pair of blue eyes. After him, a girl that has a brown hair with wolf ears and deep red eyes come out. Just looking at their appearance I am certain that they are younger than me.
The man straighten his hand into the carriage and finally the one I was waiting come up. She has a blonde hair and a pair of charming purple eyes. At that time, the question pop up to my head. Who are they? Why they are inside the princess's carriage with her? Is they are slaves? But there are not a sign of slave crest anywhere. The king hug his daughter gently. At that time, I accidentally make an eye contact with Ray. I smile to him but what I can see in his face is a grin that make my spine cold. The boy just put a smile on his face while bowing his body.

He lift his head and began to introducing theirselves.
"My name is Ray and this is Lily, my partner also my lover. We are adventurers from Razel and were asked by her to became her guardian since Franz passed away in incident three years ago." (Ray)
Ray explain the reason why he become a close aid of princess. What kind of incident that happened three years ago?

The king looks like still not believing what he said.
"That's true that we are younger than her, but we are stronger than her. We already ackowledge as [Lord of Hunter] in Razel. We also in charge of her training to the point that she became the best graduate in the academy." (Ray)

"It still not answering why you call her by that." (Eric)
Hearing that, he put a smile like a child have.
"Pretty simple, her name is too long for me so I abbreviate it. Don't get me wrong, Vi herself allowing us to call her like that since we have acknowledged as her friend." (Ray)
The king sighing and look to her daughter.
"Is that true?" (Eric)
"Yeah, I was the one who asked them both to replace Franz. Thanks to them I can reach to this point. I already considered they like a best friend I had, so I am allowing that." (Violet)
The king only can nodded his head hearing the princess' argument.
"It can't be helped if my daughter had decided it herself. I must say thank you for guard my daughter when she was there. I welcome you two to this castle. My name is Eric Emberosse, the king of Terrascape Kingdoma nd this is the hero we summoned last year from another world, Makoto Asahi." (Eric)
He give a proper introduction for both of us. Once again, our eyes met and he was grinning.
"Don't be so formal with me since I am not getting used of it. Also, are you sure that this guy can be trusted?" (Ray)
"What do you mean by that!?"
I accidentally spit out what inside ky head when hearing that. What do you mean is I can't be trusted? I am the hero so I will save the world. All of your life right now is in my hand.
"Like I said, can you be trusted? You maybe got a training from the time you was summoned, but I am not seeing a potential that he will be a proper hero like you want, your majesty. He only want to use this chance to gain fame and after he success, he will try to throw you out from throne." (Ray)
What with this boy? He spitting a nonsense about me. What is his intention?
"Why are you saying this now?" (Eric)
The king himself doubting his word. There is impossible for the king that only met you just now believe you.
"Just a warn, I heard a rumor and seems like it is true so that's why I told you that before. I can see it clearly on his face even right now." (Ray)
What the meaning of his word? All I want to do is doing a heroic thing and live with many girls like in the novels do. I already made my resolve to kill the demon king since the first time I came here. Why I can't be trusted for that?
"What's wrong? Is there anything wrong with I said?" (Ray)
This guy really pissed me off. His word is more likely want to drive me away from here. I lost my temper and draw my sword. I charged to him and my sword getting closer to his throat when suddenly I was sent flying into the other side of the carriage in a second.

He hold himself before!? Just now, I already saw a big gap with our power and it is still on the level he hold back. And what is he saying again? He won't fight me seriously because it is not fun?

I heard their footsteps getting away from their place before. I try to wake up but I feel pain all over my body. I force my body to wake up and at least I can sit down for now. The pain still aching so I can't do much for it. After a while, I can properly move my body and go inside the castle.

He give a friendly smile to me but I know that has the meaning behind. I ignore him and went straightly to the king.
"Your highness, are you okay? Is there something strange you can feel?"
The king's face turned puzzle when I ask him.
"I am all right. Is there anything wrong until you become this worry?" (Eric)
I can't tell is what he say is true or not but for now I will believe it.

Everyone in the dining hall fell into silent. The situation turn into tense. The king put a serious face on his face and the other just calmly watch and listening my word.

I take a breath to relieve myself from this tense before I telling him the truth.

I look back at the king and he react like I want. So, that means the king is not affected yet. But I am surprised when Ray answer the king's question.

He answer it calmly without a tremble in his voice. Now since he already admit it, I have a reason to fight him. All I need is a permission from the king and after that I will save the princess.
