Ch.25 : A Little Conflict

After the hero try to kill me, we were invited by the king to the dining hall. There are luxurious meals that already prepared for Vi's arrival. We enjoying our meal while having a conversation with the king.

"So, you were said that you are her trainer. I want to know how much she improved in past three years?" (Eric)

That's a normal question from a father when a teacher of his daughter has a home visit. While slicing the meat that served, I answer him honestly.

"Well, the first time we train her....she was terrible."

"Yeah, she even can't keep up the warming up session in her first day." (Lily)

Lily repeateadly nods her head to strengthen my statement. His father has a face that he already expected that and Vi looks down to hide her embrassement.

"But now is different. The achievement that Vi got was because her own effort. She can through our training and I am pretty confident that she is in another league amongs the noble. She is our precious member after all."

That is my honest thought about her. She really serious about her training and never missed one. I admit her hard work and the result is never betray her effort.

"So that was it. I am relieve that she met you. Since someone tried to kill my daughter before, I can't help besides worry about her. I am thinking to send one of my trusted person there to be her guardian but in her letter she told me that she had found a suitable person for it. " (Eric)

Time flew by and we almost finish our meal when suddenly the door opened and the Hero Asahi quickly went in.

"You sure are late, Are you okay? Sorry but seems like I went too far before."

I need to apologize to him since I just sent thrown him before. It can't be helped though, he suddenly rose his sword and attacked me with a killing intent so what I do was a form of self defense. But he ignore me and approaching the King.

"Your highness, are you okay? Is there something strange you can feel?" (Asahi)

The king's face turned puzzle when the Hero ask him.

"I am all right. Is there anything wrong until you become this worry?" (Eric)

"There is something that you must know about this man." (Asahi)

Everyone in the dining hall fell into silent. The situation turn into tense. The king put a serious face on his face and I just calmly observe the situation. Seems like Lily and Vi doing the same thing as me.

"What is it?" (Eric)

"Your majesty, your daughter's guardian, Ray is someone who master magic. I am sure that the princess right now in front of us is under his magic effect."

So that was it. I think he gonna bring a bad news like a strong monster coming closer here but let's hope that thing not happening. He took a glance to me to see my reaction. Of course I would not reacted to this since I know that this will happen. His face that full of victory now turn into shock when he looks at me. Looking at his sudden change bring my smile out.

"Is what the hero said is true?" (Eric)

The king more likely want to confirm about this. It's kinda trap for me since the Hero already appraised me with his [Divine Appraisal].

"I admit it and I have no objection for that." (Ray)

Well, there is no use to hide it. Everyone here already knew about it. Also I never told a lie before because of Zack's ability. The Hero already placed his hand on his sword and waiting for the king approval to start a fight but I have no intention for it from the start so I froze his sword in his scabbard so he can't pull it.

When the king give a signal to attack me he try to pull out his sword but it stuck because of my magic. He is surprise to that fact and no one aware of it except Lily. She already made a laugh looking at his expression. The fact that I use an ice magic make the king surprise too.

"Why are you not deny his statement?" (Eric)

It is pretty common for asking it since no one expect this. Even though I can use and magic type but it not written in my status. I can use those magics because I manipulate the heat of my mana in the air that I release. Because of that it is not written as or , it is who work on this matter.

"Even if I say no, I do not have any evidence for it."

This is another reason why I not deny it. Everything you say must be proven with evidence. If you do not have it than no one can trust you.

"Then, it is clear that you use magic to manipulate both of them!" (Asahi)

What kind of logic he uses? Seems like he is being too carried away with his job and title as a [Hero] who always get rid of evil. Anything that not like he thought will be consider as an evil. What a hopeless child. He is an innocent that dragged into this world with these kind of thought.

"Now wait a second. That's right that I say that but, do you have any evidence that I 'manipulate' them?"

At that moment the Hero become silent.

"If you do not have any evidence then you have no right to judge me. I maybe admit that I can use magic but don't you think that I am the only one here."

"What do you mean?" (Asahi)

"I think it is already common for people use magic such like [Stealth]. Some of the king's attendant can use that magic too but they are still work here. Even among the adventurers it is to use that magic like [Stealth]. It is already become part of our adventurer life as someone with job like assassin. So as long as you have no evidence about what you said before then I will be consider as not guilty."

My words come to the end. Good thing, now the good mood in this room has been ruined by Asahi. Now is the king's time to speak.

"That's enough! Like you said, the using of magic already became a common here and I too hire people with that power to strengthen our kingdom's power so it is useless to give a punishment to him if you have no evidence. If you really sure that he do that to my daughter even to me then bring the evidence and I will judge him fairly." (Eric)

Finally the tens go down. Asahi now stand still there clenching his fist and teeth unaccepted with the fact that the king lets me loose.

"Then I will bring you a prove that Ray controlled them!" (Asahi)

He sure a stubborn. I never done such a thing to them. Well, maybe I already have but it is for their mental training. They must resist the suggestion that I gave to them and they already passed it at the highest level of my magic. That's why I not to worry about them captivate by his [Charm].

"Father, we have finished our meal. I will show them their room so we ask your permission to leave." (Violet)

Vi spoke up asking for leave the dining hall. Her father nodded her head and Vi guided us leaving the dining hall. After far enough from the dining hall I start the conversation again.

"So, what do you thinks about the Hero, Lily?"

I want to hear about Asahi from their own perspective after the trouble he made a moment ago.

"A jerk! That's all." (Lily)

She said with angry. Well, I got the point what she said.

"That's surprisingly short."

"I do not have time to think about him, right?" (Lily)

"Y-yeah."

Seem like my attitude influenced her personality a bit much than I thought. It's like she has two different personality that opposite each other depends on the subject she likes or not. I just can smile wryly to it.

"Then, how about you Vi?"

I turn my question to her.

"That's quite rude to accused you something that you never do out of sudden. And before that he attacked you without reason suddenly. I thought you will injured there." (Violet)

"Well, it can't be helped. He use [Divine Appraisal] to check my status and I can't conceal it anyway. I think it is normal for a person who got summoned from the other world. He probably think that someone with affinity is a bad person."

Her face turn into a worry when I say that.

"Ray, are you sure you okay with this? I mean, you admit what he said before. So....I think your position just now..." (Violet)

I pat her head right away to remove her worry. It is really not suit for her.

"Don't worry, I will be okay. I have said my reason, right? Well, you probably understand if you know what I mean."

If I in his position, I probably think the same thing. Person with magic are bad peoples. But if it's me then I will go some research first. He accused me because my mastery toward magic that already common among the adventurers even the nobles. He didn't mention anything about my affinity. Things will be different if he say that.

Vi seems like understand with what I said as she nodded her head. Come to think of it, maybe I will do some research too.

"Hey Vi."

"What?" (Violet)

"Could you tell me where the library is."

Her expression turn into a state like 'I know you will say that' when she heard that.

"You sure are a bookworm." (Violet)

"Well, you could say that it's a habit for me."

"Can't you wait until morning, it is already late." (Violet)

"Let him be. He will not change his decision once he made it." (Lily)

Vi lets out a breath as a sign she surrender to pursuade me. Lily already with me for six years so it is understandable if she knows me better than anyone.

"All right...I will show you where the library is. Don't blame me if you get sick or anything bad happens." (Violet)

It is kinda understand why she said that but she do not have to worry to a small thing like that.

"Don't worry, It's not like I will fight a dragon or anything else. It's just books."

"It is really no use to change your mind once you decide it. Lily is right, you are a stubborn." (Violet)

She shakes her head regretting that she was wasting her time just to made me postpone my reading time.

"Well, you can say anything to me. Just show me the way."

I follow Vi to a room with double doors. Ahe opened the room and there is many racks full of books that make me more excited to read them all.

"I will leave you then. Just make sure you not get too tired." (Violet)

I nodded my head ignoring her words. You really do not have to worry because I already make a countermeasure to make me full energy all the night without getting tired.

"Good luck, hope you found a good thing for us." (Lily)

"I will."

They leave me alone inside the room that full of books. It's about time to spending the whole night to read all of those books in one go. It will be hard if I am alone but the truth I am not alone at all.

I made around nine [Shadow Clones] to help me out with the books. Using my I share some of my conscious part to give them a command. I make five pair to do this job. Five of them will sleep while the others will help me read the books. Once they get tired, they will switch the role with their partner and it will continue until all of the books read.

I also divide the library into five sections to make sure we don't waste our time reading the same books. With my , once I make the clones disappear, they experience and knowledge will be share to me. With that, I do not have to worry about getting to tired. I will spend all the night in the paradise of world's knowledge.
