The earth trembles 2 [79]

"suns rising, night shift is over... Nnnggghhhh! Gaah! This mans eyes need to take a shut for once jeez" the tired soldier said as he waited for his comrades to follow him and let the others take their place

The soldier walked down on a short fleet of stairs leading down to the long walk way of the massive capital defense wall. The height of the capital walls was as tall as the statue of Unity located in India, with a height of 182 meters it made humans seem like dust mites and if numbers screw your head over then it would be comparing an ant to a new born baby in terms of height. In other words it was ridiculously overkill and yet somehow whatever techniques they used, they built it. Just simply looking down from the top really shows how tall it is since humans could seem like small dots to the person viewing from on top.

...

...

...

"hey, night shift is done what you waiting for? We need sleep"

...

...

"something wrong?"

...

...

Yep, something was definitely wrong. His comrades didn't reply to him as usual, they simply stared into the mountains that were far but close enough to be seen. The soldier could see his comrade's spears shaking just a bit, even their legs were shaking. The soldier that was seeing the weird and sudden actions of his comrades made him suspect the worse possible outcome so he drew out his sword in advance.

"mate... its a large snake right? From what we were told"

The soldier let out a long sigh of relief since his comrades didn't turn into demons but he was still willing to hear what his comrade had to say. He approached him while not looking at the mountain range just yet.

"what about the snake?" the soldier asked while looking at his comrade

His comrade kept quiet and merely pointed at the mountain range with a trembling arm.

"you think that's it?"

The entire capital was placed in a flat land but at the northern part, just a few miles away was a mountain range that stretched across for hundreds of miles. At that sheer distance from capital to mountain range, seeing any large structures would nearly be impossible to the naked eye. The comrade saw what looked to be smoke rising from the mountain, no it was obviously not a volcano eruption. He saw a worm, a tiny little worn just popping out from the side of the mountain range. At that distance, anything would look small but just managing to see it with the naked eye tells that this worm was pretty damn big.

"where?"

"there!"

"where?!"

"over ther-

Just as he was about to say that, the worm returned to the hole it dug through which left a large gaping empty hole that was drilled into the side of the mountain.

"there it is again!"

"I see it!"

Another worm popped out from the mountain and did the same thing just near the first hole.

"the hell are they doing?! There it is again!... There it is...again.... The hell.. I thought there was only one! "

Six worms appeared along with six giant holes that appeared into the side of the mountain, not long after that quick event they saw a swarm of black dots sliding at the side of the hill. It took them a while to notice the black dots appearing but in a mere ten seconds, almost the entire part of the mountain range was painted with black dots and just right after they noticed the black dots, a small earthquake followed.

"SOUND THE ALARM! THEY'RE HEERE!"

The soldier that was done with night shift and was tired to the limit was instantly awake as if he was on drugs, the adrenaline rushed through out his body and soon, everyone is ganna be pumped up with the adrenaline rush, whether they like it or not it will happen soon.

"Get your hands off your dick! Those fuckers are here! Move it! move it!" an officer shouted at a room filled with sleeping soldiers

Almost instantly, the soldiers jumped off from their bed, ignoring breakfast and bath. They wore their armor like fire fighters rushing to get suited up as the blaring red lights covered the entire building and that was no description to describe what the soldiers were doing, that's because it was literally the same. In one minute the soldiers suited up as the installed alarm system on the Guild house operated on full, every single corridor and room was filled with the dark color red with noises that would make ww2 veterans mistake it for an air raid siren.

The scenes with the dark flashing red lights and the alarms made it look like it was from a zombie apocalypse movie, each room, corridor, stairs, etc was filled to the brim with soldiers rushing unless you're that one unlucky guy at the toilet. The empty streets that used to be empty was now filled with soldiers as if they were about to parade through the streets but there's no parade here, the only thing here is men waiting for a fight.
