Chapter 7: Meeting

Evelyn stared at Night. She couldn't understand what his reasoning was. Why would he ask to walk her home out of nowhere? Evelyn was initially suspicious of Night, but she couldn't see any hint of an ulterior motive. As Evelyn hesitated, Night clenched his hands anxiously. He regretted being so hasty in his actions.

"Okay." Evelyn's voice interrupted Night's nervous train of thoughts.

"What?" Night answered dazed. Evelyn was amused by his cute response. She was now certain that Night had no intentions of hurting her.

"Shall we go?" Evelyn asked, smiling.

"Ah, yes, let's go," Night recovered quickly, reverting back to his usual expressionless face. The two started walking back to the dorms. As they began walking, Evelyn observed Night. He was extremely good-looking with his black hair and dark eyes. He was wearing a black jacket that accentuated his tall, slender frame. Night could feel Evelyn's eyes on him, but he did his best to maintain a calm facade. "Are you pleased with what you see?" Night asked turning to face Evelyn. Evelyn blushed slightly, but she wasn't flustered.

"Very," she replied with a grin. Now it was Night's turn to be embarrassed. He didn't expect Evelyn to be so direct.

"That's good then," he said as calmly as he could. The two continued their walk to the dorms in silence. The night air left a cool feeling on Evelyn's skin, and she shivered slightly. However, she wasn't sure if it was because of the chill in the air or something else. Then, she felt a sudden warmth. Night had taken off his jacket and placed it around her shoulders. Evelyn smiled at him, grateful for his thoughtfulness. She hugged the black jacket around her body, and Night's masculine aroma drifted around her, making her subconsciously feel secure.
