Introductions & Backstories

Resting the limp, dying body of the boy, Kurogiri opens a gate to the bathroom where there's a first-aid box. He wastes no time to patch up what he can see, cleaning the large cut across his face, and removing his hoodie to allow his body to fully breathe. The boy was breathing, but soft and deep. Multiple times Kurogiri thought he was too late, until he focused on watching his chest rise and fall a couple of times before continuing patching him up.

Just as Kurogiri got Midoriya breathing steadily, Shigaraki walks into the open bar. He scoffs at the sight of Kurogiri but doesn't notice Midoriya until he gets closer. He visibly is distraught, watching the older man bandage his face. The older teen sat by the bar, watching the younger one's chest rise and fall, not even questioning what happened or how he ended up here.

Kurogiri finished wiping away some remaining blood from minor stitches and started cleaning up the gauze and bandages around him. He opened another gate and set the kit down on the counter of the bathroom, telling himself he'll organize it later. Kurogiri looks at Shigaraki then sighs.

He decided his superior should know about how he came across the boy. "He was attempting suicide, he fell from the piping and it seems like he cut across his eyes right before. We best leave him alone for now. Who knows if he's got a powerful quirk?"

Shigaraki stood up and looked between his right-hand man and the boy. "He looks broken," he wondered how the boy got to this point.

A couple hours pass since being patched up and Midoriya coughs. Both villains hear and go near the boy, not wanting to actually touch him for their own safety. The boy tries sitting up, wincing when he does, and his coughing becomes more violent. He tastes bile and blood. He brings his hands to his face, where his eyes are wrapped with bandages from his poor actions. He lightly touches the gauze and smiles.

He manages to softly say, "So I guess I am useless. I can't even kill myself properly, even less suffer the consequences." Kurogiri steps forward, Shigaraki watching to protect his villainous friend. He heard the creaks from the wooden floor and looked directly at the two men, except he couldn't see anything.

Kurogiri figured he'd speak, at least to calm the teenager, "We have many questions, but first, what is your name? We mean no harm." His voice sounded soft and caring, which wasn't heard of before from his partner. He heard the boy swallow loudly.

"I'm Izuku Midoriya, but that doesn't matter anymore. I don't belong to anyone," he exhaled with the realization. He wanted to cry, worried about his mother, but he couldn't find the tears.

Kurogiri saw the boy tremble with emotion. He hesitated, but asked the following question, "Midoriya, do you have a quirk? My associate and I just want to know if you'll be any danger."

"I-I don't. I'm just, just…," he held back his voice, not wanting to fully break down. He heard explosions in his mind, and Kacchan's voice echoed in his ears. He mustered what little strength he had and whispered, "I'm quirkless. Useless."

Shigaraki and Kurogiri exchanged looks. Quirkless? It was such a common thing to have quirks in these times that it was rare to be quirkless. They both nodded, as a silent agreement they weren't going to be killed or seriously injured. Kurogiri asked him what happened, and how did he find them.

Deku paused. "I've always wanted to be like All Might. The best there was. Both my parents have quirks so I figured it was only natural that I'd get my own too. My doctor told me straight out to give up because it wasn't happening. Since then, I was getting depressed. My mom apologized to me like it was her fault," he took a shaky breath. "I have been bullied since I was a child from a childhood friend because I'm quirkless. He even started calling me 'Deku', insisting it meant 'useless'. I couldn't stand up for myself, or I would've gotten seriously hurt. Fast track to now, I'm in my last year of middle school and Kacchan tells me to kill myself in hopes I'd get a quirk in my next life. Then, after brushing off my mother about the same things, I go for a walk and get attacked by a slime monster and All Might saves me."

Shigaraki couldn't hold himself back and audibly scoffed when Midoriya said the pro hero's name.

Deku smiled and continued, "Well, after meeting my ultimate idol, I asked him if I can become a hero even while being quirkless. He told me to be realistic. Him. My idol. Told me to 'be realistic, kid'," he chuckled, his smile growing wider. "I guess I hit rock bottom, ya know? Like officially. And then that's how I ended up here. I've scouted the alleyway here plenty of times, I just didn't know there were people living here. Sorry."

Kurogiri watched Midoriya as he got off the bar counter. He hesitated as he saw the boy lose his balance. He broke the deafening silence, "Do we need to contact your parents? Are they worried?"

Shigaraki looked in awe at his friend. He guessed that being a villain and wanting to take down the number one hero is one thing, but being accused of kidnapping? Not great. He heard Midoriya take in a big gulp of air.

"Ah, no. I want everyone to see what they did to me. What Kacchan did. He's a bully and doesn't deserve to go to UA, but of course he won't spill about this."

Shigaraki now couldn't hold back his excitement when he heard him talk about the prestigious high school. "So, Midoriya, do you want revenge? To get back at both fuckers?"

Although his eyes were covered and he couldn't see, Midoriya turned his head to their voices, and smiled sadistically.

"What's the plan, boss?"
