My smile grew wider. "That's nice."
"What's nice?"
I swung my feet up and down with glee. "I get to be alone here with you until daylight. This is a very rare opportunity so I want to make the most of it."
"What do you mean? We still have to go to the hospital." He sat down beside me then looked at my feet. "Shall I carry you to the car?"
'Car?'
I shook my head. "Let's just stay here. You said a doctor will be coming here tomorrow anyway."
"But your feet--"
I put a finger on his lips. "Stop worrying. I told you that they will heal in no time. You're such a worrywart."
He took my hand away from his lips. "If you don't get it treated properly, there will be a higher risk of infection."
Infection? That didn't sound good. But it's not like a mere infection, whatever that was, could kill me. I shook my head. "Whatever. I'm not going anywhere. I know my body better than you do."
He frowned at me.
