Lite Everdeen

'Booommmmm'

The earth start shacking like it was the end of days, countless cracks spread in all directions and molten lava came out from the core of the planet. Mountains crumbled and oceans evaporated. The atmosphere started igniting turning the whole sky ablaze. Looking from afar it was like an egg having its shell cracked and the yolk flowing from those cracks.

In the middle of all that chaos a huge silhouette could barely be discerned. It was a humongous giant with silver skin that seemed to be tougher than any metal in the world. His hand alone could reach over hundreds of kilometres. His head was not even in the atmosphere, stretching above the clouds directly in the space. His sheer mass was so great that it had its own gravitational force. On his forehead, an third eye could be seen pulsating with endless bloodlust. Holding in his right hand was a mace that could shatter a whole continent.

Despite his ferocious display, he couldn't hide the traced of fear in his eyes. Right now his silver skin was ripped and in many places blood was flowing forming rivers that would evaporate in contact with the molten magma. His left shoulder was severely injured, a deep cut stretching all the way to the white bones. The huge mace was considered in this world to be one of the strongest weapons ever created, but right now a few small cracks could already be seen on its edge. Although those cracks were insignificant compared with its true size, the simple fact that such a peerless weapon could be damaged was testimony to the endless power that it had to go against.

'Rooaaaaaar'

With a savage roar, the giant brought the mace high above the atmosphere and then towards the planet. His muscles bulged till veins started popping, blood flowed even fiercer than before, but he didn't care. At this point there was no alternative: end it all with this move or accept death. The giant's weapon could easily destroy a huge chunk of the planet but, for an unknown reason, it stopped in midair. The giant kept pushing forward, his muscles starting ripping and his blood raining over half the planet, but no matter how much force he used the mace couldn't move even one inch.

"Well, that was fun, but it's time to end this!"

A low voice could barely be heard from the planet. Although it was so soft that it shouldn't even reach the giant's ears, the truth was different because as soon as those words were out, the giant stopped pushing forward, and an uncontrollable shiver ran though his whole body.

From the edge of the mace an peerless crimson light started illuminating the world. Compared with this little light, even the sun looked like it lost its colours. A few moments latter the giant was sent backwards, blood spewing from all his orifices followed by huge chunks of the mace that was now no more.

From the planet, slowly, an small figure started floating towards the dying giant. Although he was still alive, even with his species' terrifying vitality, it couldn't survive this kind of wounds. Soon his life would be extinguished completely, his corpse sentenced to float in space for ages to come. Despite all this, on his face a smile could be seen.

"I … Did it …". His words were followed by great amounts of blood. At this point, even talking was a luxury that he couldn't afford.

"Yeah, congratulations. You did it indeed." In the blink of an eye a figure appeared on the giant's forehead. This was a far smaller being, so small that even a single hair from the giant was hundreds of times bigger than him. Despite all this, when the monster that could destroy whole planets heard that voice he shivered once more. He knew who this existence was. Actually, in the whole universe it was easier to find a so called True God than a person that didn't know who Lite Everdeen was.

Yes, this was his name. Lite Everdeen. The Lord of Chaos, Lite Everdeen. Despite the terrifying title, Lite Everdeen was nothing more than a man. A head full of black hair, with enchanting azure eyes and an elegant figure, not to slim but not buff either, with an appearance close to the early twenties, he looked more like your friendly grandma's nephew that comes in visit once in a while more than anything else. Standing at a height of 1.92 meters, he couldn't be considered neither extremely tall nor too short. If you were to throw him in the middle of a crowded street, there would be not even one person to take a second glance at him. Well, not in this Universe of course. In this universe even the beggars knew his name and face. In reality one of the first things any children would learn after they were born would be his distinguished name and appearance.

Lite looked around and smiled. Out of nowhere a small hourglass appeared in his hand. It could be seen that the sand was all gone, not even one piece left behind.

Looking further away from the giant, the planet could still be seen spewing magma on the verge of collapse. Further in the distance, countless other figures were lying like dead, some floating in space, others crashed onto other planets or moons. If you were to count you would find out that there were a total of 19.861 existences lying around. Some were huge, with strange shapes like giant floating crabs or even worms, other were as small as an butterfly, but if all those existences had one thing in common, then that would be that they were all filled with wounds. Some even had missing limbs, others were as pale as corpses but, at this point, all of them were smiling.

Lite took one more look around and, with a wave of his hand, the hourglass was turned into dust. The sand started moving towards all the injured beings around and soon a strange phenomenon took place. The injuries, no matter how sever, started healing. The blood that was frozen by the void of the space was slowly flowing back towards its owners. A few strands of sand even went towards the destroyed planet and soon the cracks disappeared like they were never there. The magma retreated and even the once dried up oceans were now full of water once more. Under the magical effect of those strands of sand, the whole battlefield returned to the peacefulness from before.

Once healed, all those that once were on the verge of death, be it huge monster the size of a moon or small insects radiating mesmerizing colours, gathered together a little further away from the giant, waiting in line, not daring to utter even a single word.

The once heavily injured giant was now as good as new but he didn't rise from his position and didn't even dare to move because on his forehead Lite was sitting down, with his eyes closed, like taking a napping.

Not even bothering to open his eyes, he started talking in a casual tone.

"Well, I think it's in order for me to congratulate you. Although it was a close call, you did manage to entertain me for the whole span of 15 minutes." At this point an look of excitement could be seen in the eyes of all those present. "Still, I must warn you… This time it truly was an extremely close call. If it was not for this big guy over here burning his life force you would have failed."

'Huuuuu'

A shiver went through everyone present without exception. If they were to fail, the consequences would have been truly unimaginable.

Lite waved his hand and a huge mountain of all kind of strange stuff appeared out of nowhere. Looking at that mountain of weapons, strange pills and even living beasts, the onlookers' eyes started shinning. Although all of them lived in this Universe for countless years and they were all at the pinnacle of the world, they still wanted to grow stronger. In this Universe it was a known fact that Lite had countless treasures, some from ages long forgotten, others created by himself and at this point a huge mountain composed from thousand of this kind of treasures was right in front of them. How could they keep their calm in this situation?

"As per the agreement all these treasures are now yours. The only rule is that you must find a way to split them without killing or injuring each other."

Some of the thousands of existences present here frowned a little and the killing intent that once filled their eyes disappeared without a trace. In this Universe, Lite's words are absolute. Despite the fact that they were ready to bet their lives and slaughter anyone and everyone for the mountain of treasures, now that Lite banned them from killing or injuring others, they had no choice than to look for a different way.

Rising to his feet, Lite took one final glance towards those present and started flying in a random direction. Soon his figure disappeared completely, a few final words remaining behind.

"See you all again in 10.000 years for The Festival of the Chaos Lord. The target remains 15 minutes. If you manage to entertain me once more, countless treasures shall be yours, otherwise only death awaits you. "

A few moments latter a whisper could barely be discerned, floating through space, through the void itself towards all corners of the Universe: "Being strong is too boring…".

************************

While all this was happening, from the very edges of this Universe, a spark of white light was floating at an impossible speed. If you were to look from afar you would see that his small spark of light was heading towards Lite. No matter what it was in its path, the small light didn't stop for even a second. Planets, suns and even black holes. Nothing could stop it.

Soon Lite could be seen flying in a random direction, toward a star in the distance, although flying is not the correct term as he was more like teleporting, disappearing from one point and appearing billions of kilometres away. Considering how big the Universe is, flying from one star to another is not really possible. The only way to travel is through worm holes. You open one, travel a certain distance, close it and repeat. Normally it would take between 10-20 minutes to traverse one light year, but with Lite's power 100 light years could easily be crossed in a matter of seconds.

Despite his speed, right after he exited one worm hole and even before he managed to open another, a small spark of light appear in front of him. To say the least, he was left a little speechless, not because a random speck of light appeared in front of him, but because from that little spark of light, Lite felt a strange feeling that he barely managed to recognise.

'Hahahaaaahaa'

Out of nowhere, he started laughing, excited beyond words, with light almost spewing from his eyes.

"Thank you, little thing. I don't know what you are but it's such a blessing to feel fear once more after countless years."

Despite his monologue, the spark of light didn't react in any way. Lite just stood there, waiting, looking towards the strange entity in front of him. After a few minutes, the spark moved a little further away from Lite and, in a violet flash of blinding light, it turned in a white dagger. There ware no patterns, no marking on the dagger. It was as simple as a dagger could be.

Lite hesitated for a second before extending his hand and picking up the dagger. At that point, a stream of words started flowing from the small white dagger in front of his eyes. Furthermore a simple scroll materialised in front of him and then the words floated towards it becoming one entity.

Lite was slightly surprised but, at that point, he was more interested in the message contained by the scroll.

"Congratulations,

Don't worry, the transmigration process is completely safe and at destination a new body and identity shall be provided.

Warning

"

Reading so far Lite was sceptical but then, remembering the otherworldly sensation that he felt earlier his scepticism turned into excitement.

"Hahaahaa… I don't care any more. I've lived for countless ages and, at this moment, there is no point to my existence in this world whatsoever so I might as well bet everything on this.

In the worst case scenario my soul might be subjugated and I might get turned into a slave but that may be quite entertaining as well.

As for death… Humph. I don't fear death!"

Without any kind of hesitation is his moves and with a bright glow filling his eyes, Lite grabbed the dagger with his right hand and with a 'Swish' his heart was stabbed.

Pain filled his whole body as slowly the thumping of his heart became more and more feeble. His eyes started getting unfocussed and everything became slightly blurry.

In his last moments, Lite looked once more towards the scroll that changed his destiny. At the bottom of the page, some smaller letter could barely be seen. In his excitement Lite didn't read it all but there was no turning back now. With the last drops of power he tried his best to make sense of those final words.

"Warning

During the transmigration process the memories before the age of your adulthood are going to be lost partially or completely.

These memories can not be returned and the process is irreversible.

Lite Everdeen, your age of adulthood is: 17 Universal Solar Cycles.

Your Appearance is going to be changed to match your memories.

Your Soul Memories shall remain intact.

Signed,

Origin God Ti. "

Reading the little warning Lite was not only not angry or sad at this potential loss but he was actually smiling.

"This is… Truly… A new… Beginning!"
