Accepting fate

Everybody jumped when they saw the fire, but Brian was the one that put the small fire out. Raven seat down and looked at her parents questioning.

Rose:What Brian said is true, we are not your biological parents, but that doesn't mean we don't love you like our own!.

Jade sat down with Raven and holded her hand. Rose and Joseph told the girls and Brian what has happened 16 years ago on that fateful Halloween night.

Rose: I'm sorry Raven that we didn't tell you this sooner, we tried finding your family but there was no news about anybody looking for a baby and I couldn't go to the police and tell them about my dream ,they were going to think that I was crazy at best. We will have lost you both.

Raven got up and sat down in the middle of the couch, hugging her parents with all her strength.

Raven:Mom, dad, thank you very much for all that you have done for me, thanks to you guys I have had a great life full of love and family.

She looked at her sister which was crying silently and opened her arms to her. With a choked sob Jade run to them and all hugged.

Brian looked at the loving family together and he couldn't stop but feeling guilty ,he wished that his world didn't need the girl, so he could leave her here with this family to have a normal life. He got up from his seat.

Brian: I'm going to go now, I know you all have a lot to talk about.

He looked at Raven.

Brian: I will see you on Monday at school.

Then he looked at Joseph.

Brian: And don't worry Mr. Morningstar, me and my brother will make sure that Raven is safe!.

Saying this he bowed to all of them and left the place.

Later that night Jade and Raven were laying down in bed, it has been a reveling day and after much consideration their parents have told Raven that this was her decision to make, if she decided to pretend that what Brian said about powers and everything else was a lie ,they will tell him to go and never comeback, but if she decided to learn more ,they will be right there with her. She felt so blessed. And here beside her was Jade,her sister,if not by blood by heart, always her sister in her heart. Jade could always make her smile.

Jade:So...I guess you are some kind of a princess!.

Raven looked shocked and then recalled that her biological father was a king.

Raven: I guess so....

Jade: And you are a witch, this is so cool, can you do a magic trick?

Raven burst out laughing.

Raven: How could I, I just found out about this.

Jade :I think you are going to be a very powerful witch. Imagine this ,my sister the wicked witch of the West.

Raven and Jade laughed and settled in for the night,but Raven couldn't sleep, there were so many questions that she wanted to ask Brian,so many things that she needed to know. She got up from the bed and walked to the window, she looked outside at the moon and the forest and there on the edge of the woods sat a big wolf, her hand went to her chest,she had to admit that she was scared but then the wolf looked at her and she remembered the vision of the wolf on the forest and also those eyes in the wolf looked so familiar...

Raven needed to talk to Brian as soon as possible.

In another part of town at 2 am, Adrian zigzaged on his way home, he shouldn't have drink so much, but everything has been going wrong for him lately, his wife has left him, so what if he smacked her a couple of times, a woman should know her place and not be nagging him about to much drinking or about not having a job. He was the man and she should respect him, he has lost a couple of jobs before but that wasn't his fault it was the a****** bosses, now he was down to the job at the school as a custodian, it didn't pay much but it was all he had now. The shadows surrounded him but he never saw it, suddenly the shadows solidified in front of him and graved him by the neck, Adrian's eyes bulged and he tried to scream but no sound come out,he was so afraid that he peed his pants and passed out, the shadowy figure let him fall to the ground and going back to shadows entered Adrians body.
