A mystery in a small town

It was Monday morning and Raven was nervous and a bit exited about seeing Brian. When they got to the school they were welcomed by all their friends, wanting to know how Raven was feeling,everyone asked about the transfer student and the girls were praising how handsome and nice he seemed to be. From a distance Thomas looked at them full of hate and bid his time for his revenge.

Brian:Hello everyone!!

Everybody say hello to Brian and were surprised to see by his side another boy that looked the same as him but his eyes instead of gold were gray like a stormy sky.

Brian:This is my brother Ryan.

Ryan:Hello!.

Lucy: Oh my God ,are you guys twins?.

Ryan: We are, but I'm definitely the better looking !.

Everybody laughed, they could tell that where Brian was more quiet and Ryan was more out going.Brian smiled at something that Ryan said and when Raven saw him her heart did a somersault and she looked away blushing but not before Brian notice it.

Brian:Ryan this here is Raven and Jade.

Ryan turned to the girls and took Raven's hand on his.

Ryan: Is a pleasure to meet you my lady.

Raven was shocked but she managed to smiled and make it look like his words didn't surprised her, Brian looked at his brother with narrowed eyes and he let Raven's hand go, not before giving him a knowing smile,then he turned to Jade with a smile but he froze when he saw her and blinked a few times.

Ryan: Ahh.... nice to meet you Jade.

He said this without touching her. Jade's heart was beating fast while she looked at him and the palms of her hands were sweating so she was glad that he hasn't graved her hands like he did with Raven.

From a distance a figure lurked in the shadows paying close attention to Raven.

The rest of the day went smoothly, Thomas stayed away from the girls and soon was time to go home, although Brian and Ryan weren't in the same class with Raven and Jade, the girls could always find them around on their time off. The girls walked home from school everyday since they didn't drive yet (just turned 16)and their dad was a doctor with long hours and Rose was his nurse (This is how they meet and fall in love),but today waiting for them at the school gates were the twins.

Brian: Hi Raven, do you mind if we walk you home?.I promised your dad that we will take care of you both.

Raven: That is ok, I wanted to talk to you anyway, there are so many questions I will like to ask you.

Brian: And I will try to answer them the best I can.

They walked together, with Brian and Raven in front and Jade and Raven behind them.

Brian: So have you decided if you are going to believe us or if you are going to forget us.

Raven let out a breath and looking at him honestly answered.

Raven : I don't know what to do, I can't deny that I throw off a ball of flames at a chair, unintended may I say.

That made Brian smile, she was so strong this girl, after all that he had said about who she is and she wasn't running away from him.

Raven: But I don't know about fighting and magics, I really don't know if I could be of any help.

Brian: I understand that and I will help you with anything I can if you decide you want to learn, but for now you probably have questions about our world and people.

Raven though about his words (our people),and decided to think more about that later and concentrate on the now.

Raven: So tell me about the world of beast man and witches.

Brian:it looks somewhat like your kings and knights era but with more modern things, our night light comes from magic crystals and we have things like ovens, radios, we are trying to create a vehicle that runs on magic crystals but haven't managed it yet, we have communicators kind like cellphones and something you guys don't have,now yet.

Raven:What is that?

Brian: A sort of portal device, it works with magic crystals but also needs a powerful magician to open the portal.

Raven:Have you been here before?.Is that how you seem to know so much about this world ?.

Brian:Yes,when your mom left our world with you and our king died we thought that we didn't have any more hope,we had to flee for our lives, but the ones that survived got united again and we have a new leader and are trying to fight against the enemy.When we find out that you were alive we came here to find you, but the portal hasn't been too strong for many consecutive uses in a row, the night you crossed to this world the majority of the witches that joined us died, we only have Blair now and when she opens a portal it takes 1 full year for her to be able to to do it again,so the ones that have crossed have learned your customs ,we now have some allys here,some money saved.

He shrugged.

Brian: Not much but enough to help our people here.

Raven had many more questions now, but by then there were already at home.

Brian: We have to go now, but we will see you tomorrow, take care both of you.

Ryan:See you tomorrow.

The brothers waived and walked away. The girls went inside the house and talked about what Brian had said.

Later that night the gray wolf was hidden in the woods and made sure that his princess was safe.

Farther away in the small town Alison was walking home, it was 12 am and she was tired, she worked a full shift at the hospital. She was already thinking about her shift the next day, she has been working so hard, but just a little more money saved and she could buy the little car she has been keeping an eye on at the car lot, that way she won't have to walk home anymore. She smiled at the idea and didn't see the shadows closing in on her and when they surrounded her,she completely disappeared.
