Lena grabbed the book, but then put it down. "I shouldn't be rash." she told herself, "I should finish exploring the house and then come back later." She left the library, and slowly walked back to the door.
Across from the library, she noticed a staircase going down. She grabbed the railing, and pulled herself closer to the steps. She looked down the stairs, and saw another hallway.
"This is going to be painful. So much walking."
But she decided that she would explore, so she resolved herself to go down there. She walked one step at a time, slowly, and leaned against the railing the whole way down. As she was approaching the bottom, she tripped and fell off the stairs. Fortunately she was already close to the bottom. It did not hurt much.
She got off the ground, and walked forward, not knowing which way to turn. This house was huge! It seemed larger than her house. She got scared, who is rich enough to afford a house like this? Even James could not afford something like this!
Lens stumbled as she walked just past an open door, and fell in. She reoriented herself to see the room, and saw in front of her a couch and a table. She reached up to the table and winced in pain.
"Are you alright?" She heard a familiar masculine voice say. She did not process what she heard, and reached again for the table.
Then she tried to pull herself off the ground using the table as leverage. However, she was currently very weak, and she fell and hit her head on the table.
"Lena!"
'How did he know my name?' That was the last thought she had before she passed out again.
