Displeasure

"J-James!" Lena stuttered when she saw him, "i-it's so great to see you!"

Lena was stumbling over her words. She did not know what to say, how to respond. She just yelled at the butler without a real reason. She knew that her James hated that. After all, she knew her James better than anyone else.

James gave a mocking smile when he heard her words. "I would have said the same to you if I did not happen across that scene just now."

James's eyes seemed to burn holes into Lena's face, and she could not help but turn away and look at the floor.

"I apologize for showing you such a sight! I-I am not normally like this! I was-"

"I know... I know." James interrupted. "You were so excited to see me that you came running over, and even forgot all your manners." He laughed as he said this. Lena's face turned bright red from embarrassment.

"So What was so urgent that you had to come see me so desperately?" James asked, showing his obvious displeasure.

When Lena heard this, she almost fell onto her knees crying. She felt as if the world was crashing down on her shoulders, and the weight was far too much for her to handle. But she managed to hold herself steady, although barely. She looked James directly in the eyes and hardened her own firmly and with tears.

She then spoke with a softened tone, one that was filled with emotion, yet pleasant to hear, "why can't we go back to the way we used to be?"
