Where Will The Future Take Us

Yilel stood in front of a mirror as she stared at her body reflected in it. Soon she was going to be turning 18 herself but instead of feeling any joy about it she felt nothing especially when she stared down at all the scars left on her body. Her shoulders still had still had deep fingerprints that deeply embedded into her and still hadn't gone away to this day. they would peek past the shirts she would usually wear so in her eyes It was a blemish she hated to see but that wasn't the worst of it all. Tracing the large scar that went up from her chest all the way in between her breasts she led her finger slowly up it as hate flashed through her eyes.

"Don't be afraid."

Her fear had long faded away into the past as her finger linged in between her breasts until she finished tracing up to her shoulder where it ended. If she had any hope that one day the fingerprints would disappear then she had zero hope the large scar on her would ever go away. But she had already accepted that fact long ago but this routine was just something she did for herself everyday as a daily reminder and a way to calm down to some extent. But thankfully her leg had healed strangely enough after some time had passed. The Clan doctor and others said it would never heal but surprisingly they ended up wrong and well it did confuse her she quickly accepted it, just happy her leg was normal again.

"Haa...."

For a while now she hadn't seen Xilo around the fiery clan anymore and while there were some rumours going around about him disappearing awhile back with a woman no one had ever seen before she didn't quite believe such things. She knew what Xilo was like and what his habits were so such a thing shouldn't have happened under normal circumstances. Which led her to believe the Fiery Clan was most likely intentionally hiding him but she couldn't figure out the reason why.

"Did they find out about him? No, It hasn't happened since from my observations. It's got to be something else.."

Frustrated at her lack of information and her not being in the clan that day she quickly got her anger under control as she started to dress herself for the day. She had to talk to the Clan Leader today and figure out what had actually happened. If not she'd look for that monster herself now that she was finally able to. Leaving her hair down she put on a red shirt that hid her neckline as much as possible while putting on an easy pair of pants to move in. She hated feeling restricted and flashy clothes so this was the best choice for her. Especially to help hid her body's scars even though it didn't always work the best.

Checking herself in the mirror she let her hair down as she gave her room one last look over before leaving. Thankfully everything was still in order and it didn't look like anyone snooped around her room. Of course the only person who would do that was Zelfin but she was also worried one day Xilo might attempt it but that fear never came to pass and thankfully nowadays she could pummel Zelfin in a split second if she wanted too. A couple weeks ago when she went out travelling for one of her quests she was finally able to hit the Path stage after being stuck at the third stage for a little while and that confidently put her at the top of the strength charts amongst her peers and even a lot of people a part of the clan.

She was offered a better position in the clan afterwards but since she didn't know what she was going to do quite yet with her future she declined for the time being to give herself some time to decide. Seeing her room was in good shape she left and headed to the Clan Leader's office. But one detail she had missed paying attention to was the countless scribbles that were labeled across her entire room everywhere you looked where there wasn't space that was deeply carved in and uneraseble that said one word over and over.

XILO.

Over and over wherever you looked Xilo's name was carved in by knife marks everywhere.

A couple of minutes later she arrived at the Clan Leader's office and knocked at the door while announcing her presence. After letting Yilel in he slowly stared at her figure wondering what she would wanted with him but whatever he thought about didn't make sense to him so all he could was patiently wait for the black haired beauty in front of him to speak up and while he didn't know her to well she did give some pretty amazing contributions to the clan by their current standards so he didn't mind her attitude when she started staring daggers at him but it did confuse him a little bit. "Did I do anything to upset her perhaps? But what." Scratching his head nothing came to him.

Finally after a minute of staring at him she spoke up but the words she spoke only left him more at a loss then before.

"Where is he."

That one sentence was said with so much hate, anger, sadness and confusion that it almost overwhelmed even himself for a second. It had been a long time since anyone had spoken to him like that, especially with so much emotions involved that he struggled to even hear all the different ones but most of all he was confused. "What the heck does she mean where is he? Where is who?" Thinking to himself he spoke as well.

"Who?"

"Him."

"Who's him."

"The boy."

Watching her still refuse to answer him properly he was starting to get a little irritated but instead he tried to seriously think about who she was talking about but all that he came up with was blanks.

"Seriously, Take a second and at least describe who you're talking about and at least give me their name maybe. How else can I help you if you don't? I can't read your mind you know."

"Xilo. The monster."

He had never heard the name Xilo before but thinking about the phrase monster the only person that came to mind when thinking about that was the boy who had left a couple months ago. Though he had no idea why she would want him and he especially didn't like that way she referred to him either.

"I assume you're talking about the boy. But he is no monster girl and I don't take lightly to that word being said to my face you should know this."

With rising anger in his voice he spoke to Yilel as his Astral Pressure centered on her.

"Also well you may have made plenty of contributions to the clan but that doesn't mean you can boss me around. So let's try this again shall we."

"fine."

Satisfied with that response he watched as Yilel casually broke his pressure off and resumed her previous stance. A little taken aback by that he calmed down and went back to normal.

"Now, why would you assume I know where he is. You should know he left months ago on his own, yes?"

"Impossible."

"Oh why so."

"He wouldn't do such a thing by his own choice. I know him better than that."

Hearing that he laughed lightly as he broke out into a small smile while staring at the frozen beauty in front of him.

"Is that so."
