Innate Pride and Beast

"Meh, that hasn't been decided yet, so who are you people?"

"The ones sent to clean up leaks."

"That wasn't what I asked but alright."

"People this secretive won't answer questions Xilo you're just wasting your breath. Let's get this over with before Relia feels better."

"I can do that."

Blocking the two arrows that came towards him Xilo didn't bother completing Icebreaker. He had learned his lesson on how badly this thing depleted his energy. "Tearia did say to be careful from now on." Going for the archers, Xilo let Xelfia deal with the four others in their little group. He really wanted to see what the new and improved Xelfia was capable of. "How strong have you become, now is the time to show off." Noticing Xilo running off to the back avoiding the others, Xelfia sighed as she tilted her head up slightly and pouted.

"Oh? Leaving all the work to poor old me...I know you're curious Xilo but this is quite mean."

Contrary to her words though pride filled her voice as she spoke. With a slight wave of her hand two walls of vines appeared on either side of her attacks before attacking them. Like a net she tried to pierce their bodies before a small blade of water slashed at them with her other hand. "This feels good." The ease at which she controlled her elements had improved and the strength behind them along with her confidence had soared. She was almost killed once due to her lack of confidence in the things she was doing so she had decided that if she was going to do things she wouldn't hesitate anymore. She had an innate proudness that was just her and hindering that would never work.

"Xilo is Xilo and I'm just me...Xelfia."

Watching her water blade tear apart two of them that got trapped in her plants Xelfia smiled as blood spilled onto the ground. "Two managed to escape but oh well." If XIlo wanted a display of her power then this was fine to her. Slashing the plants that came at him the leader watched his two comrades get sliced in half while one barely managed to block it, breaking their weapon in the process. "Strong." Growling deep in his throat he didn't expect them to be this strong.

"So Dracal bothered to send competent people this time."

"I wouldn't say that really, you just got unlucky that's all."

Thinking back to the memories Xelfia was shown in that ball of flame she let her skin turn into scales as her claws came out. "Fighting not just as a human but as an Astral Beast." A small part of her wanted to deny that part of her but she couldn't completely. She was an Astral Beast at the end of the day, it ran through her blood. With Red scales covering her arm Xelfia struggled to control it so she could only do this much so far but it was good enough for now. Flexing her hand she dashed forward and punched the one who lost his weapon right in the gut. Watching the masked person squirm she extended her claws as she pierced their gut.

"Good night."

Feeling their blood seep onto her hand she pulled out of their stomach as she let their body drop to the floor. She was left with only the one who had spoken in the beginning now. "You have to die now." She wouldn't let anyone who saw the Astral Beast part of her escape alive. She knew a litte about the discrimination against it and she wanted to avoid it if possible. Watching from the corner of his Xilo dodged another arrow as Xelfia tore into someone's stomach without mercy. "Where did this Xelfia come from..." Surprised by the brutalness she was showing he looked at her arm as a small pit of concern entered his mind. "I guess she just doesn't want to let that happen again." That was something he couldn't blame her for even though it was mostly his fault that it came to that.

"I'll find you one day, woman and tear you to pieces."

That hooded figure was etched into his mind, never letting go of him.

Arriving in front of one the archers Xilo widely swung Icebreaker right straight for their chest as an arrow came his way. Ignoring it he let it hit his body as Ice covered his body blocking it. Feeling a soft impact, Xilo's Icebreaker bashed into the person's body, throwing them off to the side as a pained yelp escaped their body. He broke quite a lot of their bones with that swing alone so he didn't worry about them anymore as he moved on to the next one. "We've made surprisingly quick work of these people thankfully." A part of him thought they were a little too weak to be sent after them but maybe it was just Xelfia's strength carrying them.

Watching his last comrade die so easily the leader was a little shocked at the strength this woman possessed. "What's an Astral Beast doing here..." Feeling panicked he backed off a step. Most Astral beasts that could take on human form were incredibly powerful and while this one wasn't showing the same strengths she was terrifying nonetheless. "Their information was wrong." He had been told these people were newbies and figured it would be an easy job to take care of but now here he was on the death's edge.

"Wait, I can give you information..."

"For what exactly, willing to surrender? Pathetic. You watched all of your friends die then beg for your life once you can't win? If our positions were reversed would you let us off?"

"Information though, I have i-"

"I don't want it."

"....Beast...."

"Xelfia!"

Watching from the side as he took out the other archer his voice didn't even reach her.

"I don't even care what information you have to try and bargain with. You're the prime example of the human's I hate most in this life. The amount of garbage I've seen like you walk around and claim to be human as you slaughter my kind or even your own. I'm the Beast in this situation? No. Far from it. Trash, Die."

Without another word anger flashed through Xelfia's mind as hundreds of memories of human's came back to her mind. The things she had seen, the things they had done. She hated all of it with a passion. She had no mercy for someone like him. "They never had any mercy either." Slashing downwards she ripped the man's face in two as his throat split apart exploding in small bits of blood that covered her claw while her eyes swapped between normal and Beast.

"Haa...Haaa...

Panting she felt the man's body collapse as a look of fear was etched into him before she lost sight of it. All that was left in her vision was blood that stained the grass she stood on. "What did I just do?" Feeling some recoil she felt a hand touch her back that caused her to jump and swipe at the person behind her. "!" Seeing Xilo behind her with a slash mark that her claws created on his face Xelfia felt a wave of nausea while Xilo continued to stare at her without flinching.

"Sorry."
