"What's so funny?"
A little irritated with Althea's laughing, Felli asked that question while Althea settled down.
"Oh nothing, Why don't you figure it out yourself, that'll be fun to watch. For now, I'll leave you alone. Have a good sleep."
Without any time to argue back, Felli felt Althea's body vanish into thin air leaving her there. "She promised she wouldn't show up again." Grumbling in her mind, Felli was left alone as time went on. Eventually she woke up as she looked at her unfamiliar surroundings. "Right." Sitting up, she was still in Xilo's room. Rubbing her eyes she figured it had probably been a while since she initially stayed here. Heading back to the place Keltal and her talked, she spotted him sitting on a chair in deep thought. Taking a seat across from him, he still didn't notice her.
"Everything alright?"
"Huh?! Oh, it's just you. I'm fine, find everything you want?"
"Yeah, for now I don't think I can learn anything else here. Thanks for showing me around and making things a little easier on me."
"Eh, it's no big deal...Though since I told you about Althea, I was hoping you could tell me more about Zelfin. Even with all the bad, he's still a Clan member I care about."
"Well considering the fairness of it i suppose I can tell you some of it. Zelfin has found Xilo again and as you can guess from his journal. He plans to try to kill him. His first attempt failed, his second will probably be more vicious."
Taking a deep breath, Keltal digested that information. Two of his old Clan members were fighting each other to the death. It was something a bit hard to accept, if it was before he read through Zelfin's journal he might not have believed it. After that though it was hard to deny such a reality. "It's my fault." Blaming himself silently, he looked at Rose in front of him. She probably came here looking for ways to stop their fighting along with her dream problem. With that in mind he figured it was worth a shot.
"I know it's a lot to ask of you, but with your strength surely you can stop them from killing each other right?"
Raising an eye to that question, Felli smiled at herself with self deprecation.
"I'm not all that strong."
"Well, currently I can't really leave this area, so you're the only one who can do it for me. Even if it's just an attempt I'd be very grateful."
"Grateful enough to let me ask you a favour?"
"Yes."
"I'll keep that in mind. I'll be staying in this town for a couple days. There's some things I want to check out. I'm sure I'll come back here a few times if that's alright with you. Think about what you said until then."
"Sure, that sounds fine with me. Want a place to sleep here though?"
"No. That's fine, I had another place picked out. I wanted to explore a little more of this town, so I'll be doing that for a bit. Thank you for your time. I'll see you again."
"If that's what you wish, goodbye Rose."
Watching her walk away, Keltal stayed seated. Feeling his energy getting sucked out on him, he did his best to hide the pain. For over a week people in this town had started to get sick. He had found the source relatively quickly and stopped it from spreading however the damage had already been done. Over half the town was rapidly losing Astral Energy along with his clan. The people who were still safe were currently running around trying to find some kind of cure. There time was running out though, eventually people here would start to die and he was probably some of the first people on the list.
"How the hell did someone create a poison like this?"
He had asked that question to himself every day. Something this high level was far from a stray bandit attack. From the rumours he had heard lately it was also hitting other towns. It was impossible for someone on a normal level to accomplish. He had sent a message back to his own home clan but it would take a while to reach them. "There's only a couple Clan's powerful enough here to do it but why." He was positive it wasn't another country's doing. If it was, they would have already sent an army straight into their land. A massively weakened country was an easy target. Along with no information escaping to others he was positive this was done from within.
"I may be banished but I still have some connections. Perks of being a rich boy once upon a time."
Feeling a faint presence approaching him, he made that joke out loud as a man appeared behind him.
"Sir, I've returned with another report."
"I figure it's about that Rose girl?"
"Yes."
"Thank you."
Flipping the report open he read her name outloud.
"Felli eh? Of the Royal Family..."
Reading more about her, he got a good idea of who Felli was as time went on. While that was happening Felli spent the next couple days exploring the town, primarily the library. After she read through the first book she was given she wanted to return and look at some of their other books. Finding new information like this was interesting to her and talking with the owner was also fun. She also visited the Fiery Clan two more times to look through their rooms again to find more information but that was a failure. Like that she spent her time, until finally the day of her return had arrived.
"I better go back soon or Mother will start to suspect something, I also want to confirm that favour to. So let's do that and go back. I don't think I can promise him anything though sadly, Zelfin should be recovered by now and Althea's dead line is coming up.."
Sighing, Felli had a lot to do now.
