Time stopped around him as Aeon looked down at the giant blade in astonishment. "How...?" Watching his blood mix in with the water on the ground Aeon truly wondered how someone managed to sneak up on him without him noticing. Did he really get that lost in seeing Katrin again or was it something else? That was something he didn't know as he felt his legs collapse to him. Kneeling on the ground he did his best to keep himself from falling face first with whatever strength he had left. "That hurts." His stomach felt like it was burning even without any fire, his nerves were completely fried and the pain was so great it was starting to turn numb to help him physically deal with it. He couldn't even look behind him to see who had stabbed him.
"Looks like this is the end of the Unreal One, I thought you would have put up a better fight than that."
No emotions, no feelings, no hesitation. Katrin watched as the man she once loved died before her very eyes as her enemy. The woman who stabbed him pulled her sword out of his back as she aimed it at his skull. Raising her hand Katrin stopped her as she took a few steps forward. Crouching down in front of Aeon she grabbed his face with one hand and held him up. "Idiot." Looking into his eyes she tried to search for some hint of mercy or emotion inside of her. There was nothing though, just a blank space blanketed in darkness and one lone figure of a little girl. With Katrin right in front of him Aeon tried to do anything but his strength wasn't there anymore, it was fading. Feeling the hollow ground beneath him he spoke up as best he could before his live left him
"So...this is the end."
"I guess so."
Stoic like a statue Katrin let him ramble, these were the last words he'd speak.
"I'd really hope...I'd never feel like this again. Helpless as death comes for me,heh... even you're still here once more. Fate is quite cruel....You know I think even with all the years that I have passed I still tried to love you, It didn't really work out for me in the end though."
Aeon began to cry like he was a child again, still Katrin didn't turn away, Aeon took that as a sign to keep going.
"You know that day you walked away I didn't chase after you. I think that's one of my biggest regrets. I heard a little bit about what happened to you from some of your family members that tried to pester me away. They said you were going to be the new Queen of the country so I couldn't be with you anymore. I thought they were crazy, just ignored them. You, a Queen? yeah right. Yet you started to act differently...talked to me less, seemed so unmotivated in life that I began to realize I might have been living in a bubble of lies to protect myself."
"Now here we are Aeon."
"That day I should have moved, called out to you, anything. Instead I stood there paralyzed. My little bubble broke as I realized all the things I'd been hearing were true. Most of all though...I knew you were hiding something else."
The Queen's eyes wavered for a microsecond.
"You were pregnant, you tried to hide it but it's hard to keep a child growing in your stomach hidden. Being a mother and a Queen at the same just suddenly dropped on you, I just didn't know what to do. In the end I thought it would be best to just let you make your decision without ever getting in your way. I didn't want to make things harder on you and so I let you go. Even now I dream about it every night of that day like a constant haunting nightmare. My biggest regret though is never even being there for our child. Hell...I don't even know if they know of my existence....Hey Katrin can you at least tell me whether they are my son or daughter. I'd like to go to my grave knowing that."
Taking one deep breath the Queen took a moment to decide what she wanted to do as she held his chin in her hand.
"...They're a wonderful little girl that has blossomed into a beautiful woman. They even inherited my family's space energy..if not a little rough with it."
Hitting the ground Aeon felt the hollow ground echo in his ear with the Queen's words.
Dropping Aeon's face the Queen stood up as she turned her body around and shuddered. Quietly she commanded her Officers to finish the job as she walked away. Staring up at Katrin's back as she walked away Aeon kept mouthing the same thing over and over. "Good...good." With a smile on his face he accepted his death as another blade pierced his back cutting off all thoughts. His time was over now and he had finally found out what he wanted. "Sorry Telan." He still had many regrets but those were impossible now. His life was now finally taken by the Queen. Not bothering to remove the blade the Officers made sure he was dead before they walked away. With Aeon's scrambling around they were sure there was more than just him out there.
"Spread out and start searching around this place. I don't need any more rats crawling around."
In that Quiet lonely room a man died as his body disappeared from the hollow place entirely.
Walking out of the loud bar Xilo had finally finished talking with Telan.
"I can't believe I agreed to that."
Somehow Telan had managed to talk Xilo into agreeing and without Aeon there to help him out he didn't have any other way out.
"It shouldn't be too bad right?"
Seeing Xilo sulking all the girls tried to cheer him up except Relia, currently she was dealing with a pounding headache that refused to go away.
