Keltal stayed silent for a few seconds after hearing that.
"I've already said too much, anymore would be pushing that line. If this was a difference me in another life I'd probably be dragging you kicking and screaming into Althea's hands. Who knows, that still might happen in the future. I'll do my best to make sure it doesn't but you should know me not doing that is already the most you'll ever get from me. I have people and things I'm not willing to lose as well so if one day it comes to that, I hope you don't blame me."
Hearing Keltal's harsh words, Xilo understood.
"Thank you, I appreciate it."
"Don't thank me....Well I should get going. Looks like Grace has won her race, I need to go congratulate her. Maybe we can talk again sometime about more pleasant things."
"Goodbye Ketal and good luck with the rest of the competitions."
"You as well and as some last advice you should probably avoid the Queen at all cost and if you can try to remember Yilel."
Before Xilo could even respond Ketltal had already floated away to see his student. Left in silence Xilo did his best to process that conversation as Xelfia grabbed his hand. Zilan's group sat off to the side with a few questions in their heads but didn't speak up. If Xilo wasn't going to explain that was fine with them. "Why avoid the Queen though?" That was one thing that bothered ZIlan the most about their conversation. He had known the Queen for a while now and while she wasn't the nicest of people all the time she didn't do anything bad. "Weird." Left to think about it, Xilo didn't say much else after that as the day went on.
They took a break before the next set of events then all got back together again to watch the last ones for the day. Xilo had also noticed a stare the whole time watching. When he turned to look he saw Laven's poisonous eyes locked onto his body. Once he noticed that he did his best to look away and ignore that feeling. "He really hates me." The only person that he could compare this feeling to was Zelfin. They were a bit different though with Zelfin's being more angry. Laven's felt more like it slithered under his skin exposing all of his secrets before ripping him apart from the inside out. It was far from a pleasant feeling that Xilo did his best to block out.
Eventually the last events for the day ended and everyone started to go home once more. "The last day is coming." Xilo had been waiting until their group had gotten every reward they could to open them to help spread it out evenly and just in case it changed his decision on how to use them. "This should be a pretty big boost once we do." Everyone in his group was bound to get a lot stronger after tomorrow was done. There was also a part of him that just wanted to win with his current strength. It might have seemed a bit too confident of a choice but it wasn't, he just wanted to see how far he could go with what he had. If he lost because of that he was more than willing to accept that.
"I think tomorrow I'll be facing Zilan and a few others."
To his knowledge everyone from their groups was competing in one of the competitions tomorrow. "Kind of exciting." Testing their strength against each other and the rest of the country was going to be fun. Tomorrow would be the big and final event that everyone came here to witness. For some it could break them and for others it would raise them up. Going into his room with the other girls behind him Xilo felt tired as he laid down on the huge bed given to them in the Queen's Castle. "Time for sleep." Closing his eyes he felt more bodies join him as sleep took over. While everyone slept excited for the big final day one girl couldn't sleep as she tossed and turned.
"Annoying."
Felli had tried to sleep for a couple of hours now however nothing was happening. "Tomorrow is the day it finally happens." So many things raced through her mind that it prevented her from going asleep. Laying there with her eyes wide open she quietly grabbed the book on her shelf and opened it up. "Grandpa." It had been years since she had last seen him and tomorrow would mark the anniversary of his death. The great man who carried their family to the top and earned the respect of many. "What do I do?" Felli knew there was no way she could stop her mother tomorrow, she didn't have the power to do that.
"I'm too weak and useless.....Will I really have to watch as so many people die...?"
Turning through the pages she did her best to not think about it as the clock ticked down without a care for her worries. A ball of Space Energy appeared in her hand as she read through each instruction on the page. It popped within seconds though creating a small distortion in the air. "Another failure." Just like always no matter how hard she tried or practised she was still met with defeat. She had been getting somewhat better until she met this giant wall. Moving Space anywhere beyond its original spawn location was impossible for Felli. If it stayed in one place though she could do it now even if it wasn't that useful.
Creating another distortion she practiced throughout the night until eventually daylight came. Everyone started to wake up and begin their day as the Queen herself sat on a balcony ledge with her legs dangling over the edge. Sitting like that she watched the sun rise as the day had finally come. "For a perfect world..." No emotions crossed her thoughts or face as she stared into the distance. She was just a puppet that pulled her own strings. "That isn't quite true either." Swirling around energy in her hand it wasn't Space Energy like her father or like her daughter. She was instead giving a white type of energy from her birth known as Light as well as Water.
She was never happy about it though, because of this white energy she was never seen as being a part of the family. She was cast aside and forgotten about, all alone. "The opposite of darkness. the counter eh?" Her energy was apparently mostly used to fight off people who had darkness running in their blood. That was just what people said at least on the outside. In the books she had read when becoming a Queen she had learned how wrong that truly was. "Dark or light, there's no difference." She had read about people who carried both those types or heroes with darkness, villians with light or vice versa. "In the end I'm one of those Villains to the world." That was okay though as long as she got rid of those cursed Zones.
"A plague that needs to be removed or else they'll destroy this world in seconds. The Nepl's were right in the end and for some reason everyone failed to see that. Even if they're gone now though, I'll make things right. Starting today."
Picking herself up off the ledge she turned serious as she walked down the halls to the beginning of her destruction.
"All for them..."
