I looked at my hands covered in the blood that of the creatures that I had just killed. I could feel the hunger growing as the wounds that I was covered in closed up. It must have been a few hours since I had killed the three little goblins. I had heard the voice in my head tell me that my hunger was only at 40 percent after I had healed from the wounds that I had.
I chucked as it told me that, it didn't need to tell me that I wasn't full. I knew that I wasn't full, I could feel the pangs in my gut telling me that I needed to hunt and consume something. The only problem was that I wasn't able to find anything that I would be able to eat at the moment. I stood up as I knew that I would have to keep moving to be able to find something before the hunger got too bad again.
I walked for what seemed like eternity, until I got to a fork in the road. I stood there looking back and forth trying to figure out what route was going to bring me to something to eat. I took a few steps towards the path on the right and instantly felt a chill.
It felt like death was the only thing that awaited me if I walked down this path. It looked almost identical to the other path but somehow I knew that there was something waiting on he other side of this road that would be the end of me. There was something that was almost exciting about it. I
had just left one life and death battle and this was going to lead me to something that would be even more dangerous than the three goblins.
I looked down the path on the left and couldn't feel anything that was different. It was almost calm and peaceful. It was the opposite of the path on the right. I knew that if I walked down this path I could find food and shelter. Maybe live a comfortable life somehow. Feeding on rats and the occasional goblin, giving into the hunger and making sure that I would always be able to eat my fill.
This was the situation that I found myself in at the moment. I would either have to put my life on the line or I was going to start the slow walk to the a existence that would lead me to just being a monster that always had its fill with the food that it already knew and who knows maybe I would be able to catch one of those spiders one of these days.
I looked down at my feet and closed my eyes. I took a deep breath as I started to walk forward. When I felt the danger I already knew what I was going to do. I wanted revenge for what had happened to me, and for that I wouldn't ever be able to gain a peaceful life. This meant when ever I found a path that might lead me to a peaceful life I was going to have to charge forward and beat down who ever stood in front of me.
I roared with laughter as I opened my eyes and looked down at my hands. they were trembling, I didn't know why that was though. Was it the excitement of what I might find or was it the terror of what was waiting down this path.
I could feel the cave getting darker as I got hungry and hungrier walking down the path. I still hadn't seen any creatures as I continued. There was no choice but to walk until I found the end. Eventually I walked into a large chamber and looked forward to a figure sitting in a stone throne.
The figure looked frail, so skinny that they might have fallen apart if it stood up. it had one of its arms resting on the arm rest of what had to be the uncomfortable throne as the other hand was under its chin lifting up its face. Long silver hair flowed over its face. Its hands were more human like than mine ending in nice well kept nails. Seemingly the only strange thing about this thing was the fact that it had glowing eyes. A deep shade of orange, almost like a fire that was raging inside of it.
I took a step forwad as I head a low growl come out from the creature.
"So," it said," finally this place has spawned another like me."
It chuckled as I looked forward at it and growled back not saying a word. I didn't know what to say if there was anything at all, I mean what do I say Hello where are me. No I couldn't do that, this creature was looking at me the same what that I looked at the goblins, the same way the goblins first looked at me. It was just as hungry as I was, just staring at me craving to take a bite out of my flesh.
I held my ground as it stood up and spoke again in the harsh low growl it had used before," Well, a meal is a meal but I was so looking forward to sharing a few words. I guess I'll have to wait for the next one to spawn, it shouldn't be more than a few centuries"
The creature stood up and I could hear all of the bones in its body crack. This thing was ready for a fight. It knew it was stronger than I was and thought that I was going to be a easy meal. It growled out a laugh as it advanced towards me and looked deep into me. A shiver crept down my spine as though I could feel those eyes piercing through me, deep into my being.
I Looked at it and felt a roar throw itself out of me from deep inside myself. Just like with the goblins, if I was going to die I was going to go down fighting. The only difference now was that I wanted to taste a piece of this thing and see if it would finally fill my stomach.
I lunged forward and rushed towards this thing that stood in my way. Adrenaline filled my body as I trembled again. This time I finally knew what it was that caused it, pure excitement. Excitement to eat something that was stronger that myself, something that would feed my hunger for at least a little while.
