"So that's what you meant when you said to think outside the box, but nothing's happening. The villagers aren't reverting to their human selves." Lucy said before frowning. She thought the curse would finally be lifted, but it seemed to not be the case.
"They will never revert into humans," Natsu answered, making Lucy further confused, but it looked like Mira understood his point.
"What do you mean, Natsu. Don't tell me we're just going to abandon them after coming so far," Lucy said before looking at Natsu doubtfully. He sighed after hearing her question.
"That's not it, Lucy. What Natsu meant to say was the villagers were never human, to begin with," Mira answered, giving a sweet smile to Natsu, who looked at her thankfully.
"Eh!? Don't tell me all of the villagers are real demons?" Lucy exclaimed out loud. Both Natsu and Mira grinned wryly at her antics.
Suddenly a purple demon appeared in front of them, making Lucy afraid. She hid behind Mira and peeked at the intruder timidly. Natsu and Mira looked at her with a sigh. Lucy could be such a scaredy-cat sometimes. The demon in front of them was the guy that brought Gray and Lucy onto this island, Bobo.
Bobo was a purple Demon of average height with dark purple spots all over his body. He had two horns on his head and a large, black mustache, which went from his nose to around his mouth and chin. He wore a blue cap adorned with skulls, a light green cape that was wrapped around his chin, and a white T-shirt. He also wore dark boots and dark pants which were held up by a pink rope tied around his stomach, functioning as a belt.
"That's right! They were demons from the beginning. They had the ability to transform into humans, but the moon drip messed with their memories, leading them to believe that their true form is that of a human." Bobo answered with a depressed sigh. He was the only one among the villagers not affected by the moon drip.
The villagers were shocked to see Bobo alive, but Moka was the most surprised. He already had tears pooling in his eyes.
"But… Then why were Lyon and his group fine?" Lucy asked, timidly looking at the demon. She was still hiding behind Mira, who sported a wry smile.
"It's because they are humans. I guess the moon drip only affects demons," Natsu answered without giving Bobo any chance to reply. Lucy sighed in relief, hearing this. She didn't want to turn into a heinous demon after all.
"I'm glad that I left this island in your capable hands. Thank you, Fairy Tail mages!" Bobo thanked the trio, bowing his head. He was glad that the village's problem was finally solved.
"Bobo!!!"
Suddenly, Moka shouted, gaining the attention of the trio. Then, the father-son duo started hugging each other in tears. The villagers already heard what he said, making them regain their memories. Soon, everyone started celebrating. It looked just like a festival.
Natsu, Mira, and Lucy looked at this with a satisfied smile. They were glad that the villagers regained their memories.
"I guess the job's finally complete. Now, it's time to enjoy our little vacation. Isn't that right, Mira?" Natsu suddenly asked Mira with a saucy smile, before Mira returned it with one of her own. Lucy looked at them in annoyance. She was still single, so she found their flirting annoying.
"Of course! I thought you forgot about it already. Let's go enjoy ourselves, Natsu!" Mira replied while hugging his arm.
Natsu and Mira were about to leave Lucy and enjoy themselves, but Lucy suddenly interrupted them.
"Eh? Then what about me? Don't leave me alone!" Lucy shouted while running towards them. Mira looked at her in annoyance. She didn't want anyone to disturb her moment with Natsu.
Then, she had a brilliant idea. She whispered something to Natsu, making him look at Lucy mischievously. Natsu approached Lucy and put his hands on her shoulders, making her confused.
"Lucy, you're here for the gate keys, right?" He asked with a playful smile, making Lucy narrow her eyes, but still nod her head.
"Um… that's right, but why are you asking me this now?" She inquired, making Natsu's smile widen to sickening proportions. Mira also sported a sly smile while looking at her.
"Then you don't need to worry about it, Lucy. I'll bring the gate key to you later," he answered with a bright smile, making Lucy tilt her head.
"What do you mean?" She asked in confusion.
"It means that it's time for you to go back. Did you think that you won't get punished for breaking guild rules? I'm sure the guild master would be happy to see you again." Natsu answered with a nasty smile making Lucy break out in cold sweat.
"Eh? Please don't tell me…" Lucy muttered, timidly backing away from Natsu. She was trying to escape from him but was met with a smiling Mira. The smile on her face wasn't her usual angelic smile. It was a smile filled with cruelty, sending chills down her spine.
"That's right, Lucy! It's time for you to go back. Please say hi to my family." Mira said while blocking her exit. Natsu hastily approached and held her shoulders. She looked at him in horror. She didn't want to go back to the guild. She didn't want to get punished.
"NOOOOOO!!!" Lucy shouted before trying to run away, but Natsu instantly teleported them to the guildhall. Everyone in the guild was surprised at their arrival. Natsu looked at Makarov and pointed at the scared Lucy.
"She's all yours, master. I'm sure you have some punishments ready for her. I'll be back with Mira later. Good luck Lucy! Bye~" He remarked before hastily teleporting away.
"Natsu, you traitor!" Lucy shouted at his disappearing figure. She fell on her knees in hopelessness, looking at the guild member surrounding her. Makarov approached her with a smile that wasn't really a smile.
"H-Hello guild master! I-It's wasn't my fault. Gray didn't tell me about the rules." She mumbled while stuttering. Everyone looked at her in pity.
"Welcome back, Lucy! Are you ready to face your punishment?" Makarov asked with a smile filled with all the kindness in the world, but Lucy lost all color on her face after seeing it.
