It was hours before I regained consciousness. I slowly sat up, grabbing my aching head. I looked around, ready to fight Rage if I saw him again.
What the hell was he doing in my house anyway? I saw the sun was beginning to rise, the light streaming in from the windows. With a groan, I pulled myself to my feet. Then I remembered.
'Trinetta!' I ran up the stairs, my mothers and brothers doors were shut, but mine was open. I raced into my room. I gasped. Trinetta was gone. In her place on my bed, there was a piece of paper.
I walked over and picked it up. Growling after reading it. He had her. He was going to kill her if I didn't go to the address written on the paper. I was going to rip him to shreds. I was going to kill him if he laid a finger on her. I was going to need some reinforcements though. And I knew who I needed.
In a rush, I got dressed. Grabbing some things I thought could help. I reached into the back of my closet, pulling out a black bag. Inside were some silver daggers, liquid silver in syringes, some hard metal chains, and a black bladed sword. Some possible threats to vampires.
But I would need at least two people to help me. So I hurriedly before they could leave.
On the way I got out my phone, dialling Mark's number. He would be the easier to catch, but I had to make it to the dealership to get Kaden first.
"Damn Emery, do you know what time it is?" he groaned into the phone.
"Mark, I need you to get dressed ok. I will be there in less than ten minutes. There's a problem I need help with." I said, trying not to growl in anger."Ok, I'll be ready." he said in seriousness.
I hung up, speeding up. Once I pulled into the parking lot of the dealership, I ran into the front doors. I saw Kaden sitting down in one of the desk chairs. He looked up at me in surprise.
"Hey, I need your help," I said. He looked at me in question.
"Just come on, I'll explain on the way, I need to pick up one more person," I said. He nodded, grabbing a book bag from under the counter and followed me back to my car.
Once we were in, I sped off to pick up Mark.
"Mind explaining now?" he asked, watching the speed meter go up."A full blood has taken a friend of mine, and has threatened to kill her if I don't come to this address." I said, handing him the paper.
He read over it, then turned to me. "This is stupid, you're just going into his trap. Who is this Full Blood anyways? Why is he after you?"
I shrugged, irritated. "I don't know, I was at the fights yesterday. And he was my opponent. He was talking all weird, calling me a Halfling or something." Kaden's eyes widened, but he turned away.
"Do you know what that is?" I asked him, suspicious.
"Its just a legend. Nothing you should worry over. This guy is probably angry you beat him." he said quietly.
I knew he wasn't being truthful. But I didn't press it as I pulled in front of Mark's house. He came running out. I opened my door to allow him to get in the back. Once he was in, I pulled off."Who is he?" asked Mark. "And what's going on?"
I sighed, trying to calm myself. "Mark, this is Kaden. He is a Half-blood as well. He knows a lot about Full Bloods. Kaden this is Mark. He is a Half-blood with some amazing fighting skills."
Kaden nodded back at Mark. Mark kept his eyes on Kaden for a moment, then nodded back.
"Ok, so what are we doing?" he asked.
"I was at the fights yesterday, and a had a Full Blood for an opponent. He followed me home. He has Trinetta, he's threatened to kill her if I don't come to some place." I said.
Mark paused, then spoke. "Ok, so who cares? Trinetta is just some random bitch. Let him kill her."
I growled. He caught on immediately.
"Emery? You mean to tell me she was in your house? And you have been talking to her?" he growled.
I sighed. "Trinetta didn't start that rumour about Knox, ok. Danielle White did. She only told Danielle because she thought she was her friend and she could confide it to her. Thinking she would give her advice. Instead, she went and told the whole school a bunch of lies."
Mark didn't speak.
"I wanted to hear her out, and she told the truth. You can check for yourself. She wasn't lying to me." I said. Following the directions on the paper.
"What do we do when we get there?" Mark asked in a defeated voice.
"I am going in alone, you guys are to stay back until I give you the signal. There's a bag beside you, Mark, inside is some weapons. Once I get Trinetta out, you guys will kill the Full blood. Got it?" I said."Emery, you can't go in alone. What if he has reinforcements of his own? What if we are outnumbered?" asked Mark.
I didn't speak."I think that the primary objective of her is not to get out herself, but for us and the girl to get out." said Kaden staring at me. I nodded.
"Emery, no. This is getting a little too dangerous for my liking. I won't let you go in and not come out." yelled Mark.
"Mark, I won't let him kill her for me. Plus, I am curious to find out why he wants me anyway." I said.
Kaden sighed, looking down. "He is one of the Demon followers. Back a couple hundred years ago, when the war between the vampires and demons had reached its peak. There were a group of prophets, that had written out a timeline of how long the war would last. The prophets were killed the very night it was made. But the vampires who had been trying to save them found the timeline."
Both Mark and I listened intently."The vampires studied the long timeline, hoping to see if there was something to help them defeat the demons. Many of their own kind had left them to go over to the demons side. They were then called Shadow lurkers."
Mark spoke up. "I have heard of those. I didn't think they existed."
Kaden smirked. "Oh, they exist. See a vampire is already a dark creature on its own. But not completely evil. But when you mix a vampire's blood with the blood of a demon. They become something much more sinister."
"I thought the war was between the Half-bloods and the Full blood." I asked."Well, in a way it is. See Half-bloods were being created for the sole purpose of becoming a Shadow lurker. Only, the demons didn't want Full blood to be more powerful when they turned. So they used Half-bloods. The Full blood who remained on the vampires side began to kill off the Half-blood as they were being born. They even came close to making it a law not to fraternize with humans."
I was in shock. I had never known of this.
"So when the vampires looked over the timeline, they found something. A sort of Prophecy. That there would be a vampire. A Half-blood, that would arise to a Full blood. Then become a shadow lurker, but the vampire wouldn't lose their thoughts or goodness. The vampire would fight for its own race. And would lead us to a victory. It is a legend to most. But to a group of vampires called the Darvix, its hope!" he finished.
"When will the vampire supposedly come?" I asked.
He looked at me. "It was supposedly born seventeen years ago. And the day for it to become a Full blood is approaching fast."
"So, this Full blood. He called me a Halfling. Is that what he thinks I am. That legend?" I asked.
Kaden nodded.
I turned back to the road, we had been driving for an hour now. We were way out of Bismarck by now. All I saw were fields. Then as I took the last left off of the highway. I came onto a dirt road. Trees on either side.
"This doesn't look kosher to me!" said Mark in a small voice.
"Not scared are you?" spoke Kaden. Mark growled at him. Kaden chuckled.
"I think I see something," I said, pulling slowly around a corner. A huge looking mansion came into view. It looked like one of those ones you see famous football player buy.
I pulled over to the side of the dirt road. There were gates ahead, slightly open. He was waiting for me.
"Ok, you guys stay here till I give the signal," I said. Looking at Kaden mostly.
"What's the signal?" asked Mark. I looked at him, reaching back and taking the bag from beside him. Taking only the black bladed sword.
"Kaden and I have become pretty good with telepathy. So he will hear me in his thoughts if I call him. If I do, I want you to get in there, take Trinetta. And get out. Use the weapons to protect yourselves." I said sternly.
"But Emery-" piped up Mark. I cut him off.
"No Mark. You do it, and if you mess this up, I will let Kaden kill you. Ok?"
Kaden smirked. Mark growled but sat back in his seat. Muttering something that sounded like. "Like to see him try."
I smirked lightly, but then became serious as I looked at the gates."Wish me luck." I said. Getting out of the car.
I walked slowly to the gates, taking the sword and placing it in my belt loop. It was a long walk through the doors. When I got there, I saw a strange crest resting on the door. I didn't knock, I just opened it cautiously and walked in.
The inside looked like some old Victorian mansion. Everything looked to be over a hundred years old.
I felt the sickly feeling settle in my stomach. I felt a pull to a door at the end of the large entrance hall. Slowly I walked to it. My hand poised at the sword. At the door, I opened it. It was a set of stairs going down. Carefully I walked down them, they were narrow. Making me think I was going to fall.
They seemed to go down forever. And the walls had turned to stone instead of the pretty floral wallpaper. Finally, I came to a dungeon looking room. It was a large room, with cages to the sides. I could smell human blood.
Oh no. if she was hurt, I would kill him. I looked around the room, outside of the cages, there were things that looked like torture devices. Shackles against walls, knives and spears on a table at the back of the room. It was something out of a horror movie.
I felt the sickly feeling get stronger as I moved forward. All the cages had black sheets draped around them. I couldn't see if anyone was inside them. But I heard muffled cries at the back of the room. On the other side of the last cage, there was someone chained to the wall. Someone with bronze coloured hair.
"Trinetta!" I ran to her. Her eyes were blindfolded, and there was a dirty rag in her mouth to gag her. Her clothes were torn and she was shaking. She flinched at my touch but softened at my voice.
I reached up and pulled the blindfold off her. She looked at me terrified. I took out the rag in her mouth. She began to cry, tears coming out her eyes.
"Shhh, it's ok. I'm going to get you out of here ok." I said, trying to soothe her. Reaching up to brush the tears away. She nodded, still crying softly. I looked at the chains. I picked them up, analyzing them. They were made of iron. I could break them, but it would take a few minutes.
"Trinetta, I need you to close your eyes, and not look until I tell you. Ok?" I asked her, taking her face in my hands, looking her in the eyes.
She looked at me, scared. "I promise it will be ok. I am going to get you out. Please trust me." I said.
After a minute of staring into my eyes, she nodded and closed her eyes.
I let go of her. Then I looked at the chain on her arm. I hoped this worked. I took the chain on her arm in my hands Taking the shackle, careful not to hurt her, I forced all my power out and pulled at the shackle. I heard the stretching of the metal. It makes a grinding noise, then it ripped apart loudly.
Her hand was free. I checked to make sure she wasn't looking. Then I did the other hand. Then I did her ankles. Finally, she fell, free of the chains. I grabbed her before she could hit the floor.
"You can look now," I said, holding her against me.
She opened her eyes to look at me, then looked at the wall she had been chained to. "How did you get me free?"
Then she looked at the shackles. The way they had been forced apart, then she looked at the grime on my hands. Then she looked at me in awe.
"Nice job, watching you was very entertaining, Halfling. But I am afraid that that is my dinner your taking from me." came a voice behind me. I stood, taking Trinetta up with me, then put her behind me, shielding her.
"In your dreams. She is not food." I spoke in a growl.
He laughed. "To me she is. And I am very thirsty."
"I don't care how thirsty you are, you will not lay a finger on her," I growled, letting my fangs slip out of my gums. My venom dripped from them. I opened my mouth and hissed at him.
He laughed. "Like a true animal! I like your style."
He opened his mouth, showing me his fangs. I heard Trinetta gasp, her hands gripping my upper arms.
He began to saunter forward. I had a minute or less. So I pushed out my mind, searching for Kaden's thoughts. I found it in seconds. 'Kaden, now. The door at the end of the entrance hall. Down in the dungeon. Run now!'
"Trinetta gets down," I screamed. I leapt at the vampire, bringing him to the ground, but the second he hit the floor, he pushed me off. I flew back against the wall, hitting a chain. I growled in pain. But I ignored it, I jumped up running for him again. But he overpowered me, taking me to the floor with a blow to the stomach. I heard yelling. "Emery!"
I looked over to see Mark trying to help Trinetta to her feet, she looked slightly scared, but he was speaking hurriedly to her. She got up, following.
Rage growled, throwing punches to my face. I was taking them while doing my best to get him off me. Suddenly, he was off me. I looked up to see Kaden throwing swift punches at Rage.
I pulled the sword from my belt loop. I watched Rage overtake Kaden. He threw Kaden into a cage, his back hitting the metal chains links. Kaden growled with anger, his eyes going from grey to red in seconds. Rage's back was to me, as he punched Kaden in the stomach repeatedly.
I growled and lunged at his back. Plunging the sword deep into his chest. Right by his heart.
Rage screamed in pain. Kaden pulled himself together and threw a final punch at Rage. He then fell to the floor, not moving. Kaden stepped over Rage, rubbing his stomach.
"You ok?" I asked. He nodded.
"You?" He asked I nodded.
"Come on, let's get out of here. Mark has Trinetta in the car." Kaden said, I nodded and we hurried out of the dungeon and out of the mansion.
We got into the car and I sped off back up the dirt road, getting onto the highway as fast as I could."Do you think we killed him?" I asked Kaden.
He shook his head. "We just made him angry. The sword did damage, but not for long. It will take him a day or two to recover."I looked at my clock, it was way past the time for school to be out. My mother was going to kill me.
I looked back at Mark, he was helping Trinetta wipe off the dirt on her clothes. She looked in shock.
She seemed to notice me staring, she looked up at me."I am sorry. I'm so sorry." I said, wanting to cry.
"It's not your fault," she said softly, looking down.
I looked back at the road, feeling more guilty then I had ever felt. "Yea it is. All because of some stupid legend."Legend?" she asked softly.
I sighed. I looked at Kaden. He nodded and began to tell her what he had told me. I heard her gasp and look at me in shock the whole time.
When he was done, she didn't speak.
"Some believe in it. Most don't. But both sides, if they knew the legend was true, they would kill for them to be on their side" he said.
"They seem to think Emery is the vampire in the prophecy?" she asked. Struggling to get the word out. Kaden nodded.
"That's why they took me?" she asked.
He nodded again.
"So let me get all this straight. All three of you are vampires?" she asked.
"Half-blood," spoke Mark. "Not completely a vampire, but not human either."
"And Emery is supposed to help save the vampires and help them win in the war against demons?" she asked."Possibly. But there isn't proof of that. This war has been going on for centuries. I doubt a mere vampire will change that." spoke Kaden.
I didn't speak. I didn't believe I was some Halfling. I was just me. Emery Carpathia. Once we were back in town, I had to take Kaden back to the dealership. His mother wouldn't be too hard on him over missing school. All he had to say was he was fixing someone's car and he would be fine.
"Thanks, I could've been killed without your help," I said, pulling in front of the building.
"Well I couldn't let that happen now could I?" he smiled.
"I owe you," I said as he got out. He waved me off while walking into the dealership.
I sighed and drove off towards Mark's
"Thank you for the help too, Mark," I said. Pulling in front of his house. I got out so he could get out. I shut my door for a moment.
"Don't tell the others about what happened. Ok?" I asked.
He didn't look at me, instead, he was staring at his front door. I looked and sighed.
Knox, Blaze, Dev and Lyric walked out of his house and towards us."I don't think you will have to worry about me telling them." he said. Sighing as well.
"Where were you?" Knox yelled. "Why weren't you two in school?" then she looked to my car, looking straight at Trinetta."Why in the hell is she with you? She yelled at me.
"I can explain all this Knox, but not right now." I said."Why not? I think we should talk right now! I think you should answer some of my questions." she yelled, her voice getting louder. The others stayed behind her, watching."Maybe you should answer me this, Why did Dev hear Danielle White talking at her party about you and Trinetta missing the party to hang out together?" she seethed.
I growled, that bitch. "Look, Knox, yes I have been hanging around with Trinetta. But you need to know that Trinetta wasn't the fault for what happened between you two." I said.
Knox's face got redder. "Oh, and her telling everyone how I tried to rape her in her sleep isn't her fault?"
I winced at her loud voice. "No, she confided in Danielle and Danielle told everyone. She thought Danielle was her friend, but she wasn't." I said. Trinetta was trying to get out of the car. She came to stand beside me.
"Knox, I swear. It wasn't me who said those things. It was Danielle." she said. Knox growled, she stalked over towards Trinetta, but I stepped between them, shielding Trinetta.
"Knox stop. She isn't to blame." I said, holding my hands up.
Knox then swung at me. Her hand making a sharp smack against my skin, my head went to the side.
"Knox!" I heard Mark say.
"I thought you loved me, but now I see who you care for," she said in a low voice.
"Knox it's not that I swear," I said, looking back at her. She smacked me again.
"So I guess I know why you wouldn't kiss me like I kissed you. You wouldn't hold me for too long. Now I see you just didn't want me to begin with." she said."Knox, that is not why I wouldn't kiss you. I am too dangerous for you to be with." I pleaded.
She laughed hollowly. "Dangerous? That's your poor excuse?"
I sighed. I looked down, "Knox, I am dangerous because I am a vampire. I could kill you."
Knox was stared open-mouthed at me. The others mirroring her.
Mark and Trinetta stayed quiet, waiting for the reaction.
"So, that's your poor excuse for the way you treated me. You cant tell the truth. That you're with her?" she said, in amazement.
I sighed. "Look, Knox, you can not believe me all you want. But its true. Just ask Mark over here, he will give you proof, he is one too. I have to go now before another vampire comes along to kill someone else that I care for." I growled.
I turned, taking Trinetta and placing her in the car. Then I got in and drove off, leaving them all there to stare after me.
I brushed my hair out of my eyes. Heading for home, to warn my mother and brothers. Trinetta sat in the seat beside me. I wasn't sure what she was thinking if she was scared or what.
I looked over at her. She was looking at me. She didn't look afraid, she looked. Confused."I am sorry for all this." I said.
Making sure she knew I was sorry. She looked into my eyes and smiled softly. "Like I said, it isn't your fault. You can't help that you're a prophecy. Or a vampire." she laughed slightly at the last part."You must be having a hard time believing this?" I asked. Taking her hand in mine. She returned my grasp wholeheartedly.
"No, I believe it. I guess I kind of knew in a way. I didn't really think you were human." she said.
"You don't look afraid of me, you sure you're ok?" I asked. She smiled. "I am ok. Maybe a little stunned but, I still think of you as the same."
I smiled, relieved that she wasn't afraid of me.
"I am sorry for Knox though," she said. "I didn't mean to cause problems."
"No, it's not your fault. I was going to have to end it anyways. It was becoming too close. I would have killed her." I sighed."How? I mean, what was making it hard?" she asked.
I looked at the road. "Well, I can smell blood if its close by. But it doesn't really bother me unless I am thirsty. But. If a vampire is close to a human intimately, a thing called bloodlust happens. It takes over our senses and paralyzes us if we don't drink blood. It causes pain if ignored." I said. "And that's what was happening with me. I could barely take it. I had to feed almost every day just to be able to stand the pain."
Trinetta stared in awe. "So you couldn't really enjoy being with her? All you could think about was killing her?"
I nodded.
"Did....did you ever feel that when you got close to me?" she asked in a hesitant voice.
I looked at her. "No. surprisingly. I thought I would. But I guess I haven't gotten too close for it to happen."
She nodded. Then looked down. "Knox seemed to believe you and I was together. She believes all this is a scam."
I sighed. "Well, I can't make her believe. Mark will have to make her. And if she believes I lied to her, then she must have not trusted me at all."Did you love her?" she asked.
I thought about my answer."No, I don't think so." I said.
"Can vampires love anyways? I mean aren't you supposed to be horrible evil killers?" she asked.
I laughed. "No. although some do give us a bad name. but really we are people too. We just want to live a normal life. We have our own problems like humans, we love like humans. We have jobs. We have our laws. We have wars. it's the same except for what we eat. And well, powers."
"Powers?" she asked as I pulled into my driveway.
I noticed my mother and brothers cars were gone. Great. I got out, taking Trinetta by the hand and walked into my house.
Once in I checked everywhere for signs of danger. When I found none, I walked into the kitchen. A note was on the countertop.
Emery, I have to work extra overtime tonight and I also have to go to a dinner party, I am hoping to make a deal there tonight for my cosmetic line. Your brothers are staying with some friends tonight as well. So I left some takeout in the fridge for you. Be careful and don't get into trouble. Love mom.
Well, at least they would be ok for tonight. I walked upstairs, Trinetta's hand in mine. Once I was in my room, I looked for some clean clothes for her to wear."I am sure my father is probably really angry I didn't go to school and never came home." she said.
Taking the black sweatpants I found and a white skateboarding logo shirt. She turned to go into the bathroom."Don't worry about him tonight, we will worry about it tomorrow." I said. She nodded."There are clean towels in there, you can shower if you want." I said."Don't you want to first?" she asked. Looking at the dirt and grime all over me.
I shook my head. "Go ahead."
She nodded, watching me. "Emery? What did you mean powers?" she asked.
I didn't know if I should show her. But I guess I was past the point of caring if I died or not.
Slowly I forced out my aura. The dark purple colour shining brightly. Trinetta gasped. The clothes falling from her hands. Slowly she walked towards me, looking around my body at my glowing aura.
"It's so beautiful." she cooed. "I thought I only imagined it."
I raised my eyebrow. She smiled.
"I have seen it before. That day when you were angry at me. When you told me not to talk to you. I saw it."
I laughed. "I guess I couldn't control my anger."She nodded and smiled. I slowly let the aura fade. She watched in awe.
"What else can you do?" she asked, looking back to my eyes.
I smiled. "I'll show you when you finish showering."
She smiled and eagerly went to take her shower. I sighed, taking off my shoes and socks. I sat down on my bed, resting my head in my hands. Today had been one hell of a day. I sat like that for a long time, I heard Trinetta turn the water off, then fumble around with getting her clothes on.
She then came out. I felt her soft hands brush through my hair. She leaned herself against my legs. "It's going to be ok," she said. I nodded. "I am only worried for the ones I love. If this thing is really true and they want me dead, they will use anyone and anything against me."She hugged me to her. "Lets just not worry about it tonight. Like you said."
I breathed deeply and nodded. Taking her by her waist and hugging her back.
After I got a shower and clean clothes on, I sat down with Trinetta. We both ate and talked about the day. I told her about vampires and what we were like.
I told her about my powers."You have to take me flying. Its always been my dream to fly. Please?" she begged, taking hold of my shirt and pulling herself into my lap.
I laughed. "It isn't really safe to be out, but I will take you somewhere where I know no one will find us. But it might be scary for you, flying with a vampire."She smiled, "I don't care. I want to fly."I nodded. I got her a jacket so she wouldn't be cold. Then I took her outside to the backyard.
I looked over to the houses to make sure no nosy neighbours were watching.
"Ok, stand back for a minute." she nodded and stepped back from me. I then forced out my wings.
She watched in astonishment as my aura lit up, black blood rolled over my shoulders then disappearing as my wings unfolded."Oh my!" she awed.I smiled.
Holding my arms out, beckoning her to come to me. She obliged, coming to me. Her hands reaching out to touch my wings. She then wrapped her arms around me holding tight to me, as I wrapped my arms securely around her. Then I shot up into the sky.
"I have to go a little fast to get there. I can't have anyone see me." I called to her. I looked down at her, making sure she was ok.
She was smiling, laughing as she felt the wind. I smiled with her. Flying at the speed of sound. In minutes I was where I had taught Mark to fly. It was dark enough for us to fly leisurely and not be seen.
I slowed down, turning over on my back, I loved flying like this. The black mist surrounding me.
"What is that stuff?" she asked.
"It's just to protect me. To keep me hidden." I said. She smiled, staring around at the trees below us, and the half moon above us.
"This is amazing Emery." she smiled, her hair flying behind her.
I smiled, flying upwards, then floating back down. She laughed as I dropped then stopped us before we came to the tips of the trees. Trinetta looked back at me, her eyes connecting with mine. Making electric shocks run down my spine. She shivered.
"Your cold. Maybe its time to head back." I said, concerned.
She shook her head. "No, please I don't want to go yet!"
I chuckled. "Ok, just a little longer."Emery?" she asked.
"Hmm?"
"Have you ever been in love?" she asked.
I looked away. She pulled me back to look at her.
I looked away. "No, but I think I might be," I whispered.
She didn't say anything, just hugged me tighter to her. We stayed quiet for a while. I wanted to know what she was thinking. "I don't want you to think you have to answer in any way about that. You don't have to love me back." I said. I didn't want her to be afraid to talk to me like she had been with Knox.
She looked back at me. Making me lose my breath. "What its like to kiss a vampire?" she asked in a whisper. I didn't know what to say, instead, I showed her.
I braced myself, ready for bloodlust. I carefully placed my lips on her soft ones. But I didn't feel bloodlust, instead, I felt passion and love. Something I never felt before. I continued to kiss her, deepening the kiss. Pulling her as close to me as I could. But it wasn't close enough. I felt electricity flow in my body, making me light headed.
Finally, we broke away for air. I smiled down at Trinetta. Her smile was breathtaking.
She leaned back in and kissed me harder than before, I parted my lips for her to explore my mouth. Her hot breath huffing into my mouth. It smelled of mint, her skin against mine was driving me insane. I wanted more.
Her lips against mine felt so amazing, they seemed to fit perfectly together. Moving in perfect harmony. I never felt such a feeling before. It was greater then adrenaline and better than the most delicious blood.
I didn't want to kill her like I had wanted to kill Knox, I only wanted to kiss her more. Her arms linked around my neck, touching my wings. I was becoming so engrossed in kissing her, I hadn't realized I was flying very close to the trees.
So I carefully found my way to the ground. My feet touched down, the whole time I never broke the kiss. I set Trinetta on her feet. She smiled and looked down, pulling away slightly.
"Cant kiss and fly at the same time?" she teased. I laughed and pulled her to me, kissing her softly then pulling back.
"So I take it you're not confused that you're kissing a girl, or that girl is also a vampire?" I asked, smiling.
She shook her head. "No, I liked you for a while, I just didn't admit it till recently, when I started to fall in love with you," she said.
"When did you admit it to yourself?" I asked curiously. She smiled. "The night I first slept in your bed with you."
I smiled, thinking of the way she felt in my arms.
"I just felt so right with you. I couldn't understand why I didn't find anything wrong with it. And then I started to realize that it wasn't wrong and that in my heart, I knew I loved you." she said, smiling.
I smiled, touched by her words. I leaned down and kissed her. Feeling so much passion behind her lips. My hands came up to cup her face in them, showing her how much I loved her. I felt her touching my wings. She shivered lightly.
I pulled away, smiling. "Time to go."
She pouted, her bottom lip sticking out so cutely. I laughed and kissed it. She giggled. I leaned down and picked her up in my arms easily. Then shot off into the sky, heading home.
Once I landed in my backyard, I pulled in my wings, then taking Trinetta inside, still curled in my arms.
"I can walk, you know," she said. I laughed.
"Yea, but why do that when you have a strong vampire to carry you?" I said. She just chuckled, shaking her head. I walked up the stairs and into my room. Throwing her lightly on my bed. Then shut my door, and turning out my lights.
I shrugged off my shoes and crawled into bed beside Trinetta. She pulled me to lean over the top of her pulling me down to her, her lips making contact with mine.
She kissed me fiercely, my arms braced on either side of her, keeping my full weight off of her. Though, it seemed she didn't want that, her hands clutching at my shirt, pulling me down on her.
I smirked against her lips. "Impatient aren't we?"
-She growled back at me, pulling me closer. I complied, kissing her passionately. After what seemed like hours, we pulled back, our breathing shallow.
Trinetta smiled, leaning up and kissing along my jawline. Then down my neck. I felt her hands go from around my neck, to the hem of my shirt. I stopped, grabbing her hands before they could lift my shirt over my head.
"Wait, Trinetta. I don't want you doing something you will regret later." I said.
She pouted, looking slightly hurt. I softened my eyes and brought her hands to my lips, kissing them. "Don't get me wrong I want to, but maybe we should wait."She sighed. "You don't feel the bloodlust with me do you?"I shook my head no.
"But I don't know if it could happen, being that close. Things happen to a human who bonds with a vampire."
She looked at me questionably. I leaned off of her slightly, so that not all of me was on her.
"When a vampire and a human are intimate, they form a blood bond. Bonding is something that isn't taken lightly. You must be prepared for what can happen."
"What happens?" she asked.
"Well, when a bond is made. A vampire can always sense where their mate is. If they are in danger if they are sick. And if they are alive or dead. We can also feel everything that happens to our mates. If they feel pain, we do too. And vice versa." I said.
She looked down, thinking.
I leaned back on my pillows. Trinetta pulled herself over to lay on my chest, looking down at me.
"And what happens when you bond. Does it work the same way as humans?" she asked.
I looked back at her. "Well, kind of. At some point, the vampire must bite the human."She paused, thinking. "Does it hurt?"I thought through my answer.
"Well only if the vampire wants it to hurt. See, we put intentions into the bite. We can make it kill the human instantly. We can make them forget that we did it. We can make it bond us, or we can change them into one of us."
She looked away for a moment, contemplating. Then she leaned down and kissed me once more. But pulled away after a moment."I want to do it." she whispered.
I looked into her eyes, determination blazing in them.
"Are you sure about this?" I asked her.
She smiled and nodded. I sighed. She leaned down, kissing me. I could feel her plead in the begging kiss. Finally, I gave in with a groan.
She smiled into the kiss, pulling at my clothes. Her eyes sparkling the whole time, happiness and love apparent in them. I lost the feeling of hesitation when I felt her kiss light my whole body afire. I eagerly showed her the same amount of love she showed me.
Looking into her eyes, I poised myself over her, waiting for her to be ready. She nodded up at me, smiling happily. I leaned down, gently leaving soft kisses along her neck, then I bit into her skin.
I heard her gasp, but then the gasp turned into a soft moan of pleasure. My intention to bond with her was clear in my mind. I drank only some of her blood, just enough to let the bond become permanent, then I pulled away. I brought my own wrist to my mouth and bit down, then I put it to her open wound. Letting my blood heal it.
Trinetta opened her eyes, smiling up at me. I smiled back, laying back down, pulling her against me.
Trinetta was now my mate, we were bonded forever.
