Darkness

"HUH?"

"That's what she told me- Is that bad?"

"Of course it is! Sakura! He is the guy I've liked for half of my life!"

"WAIT THAT GUY? Um. Fuck. But Yuna-chan-"

"Mother fucking Christ what even the hell should i-"

"YUNA-CHAN!"

"YES?"

"Did you feel at least slightly happy when I told you that Woobin was in love with you?"

"No."

"Then that's good enough. Because that means Jinyoung won you over." She grinned.

"But Sakura- I can't do this."

"Yuna-chan, reject his love before he comes to Singapore. It will be fine."

"Okay. I'll do that." I sighed deeply.

"Right now."

"R-RIGHT NOW?!"

"Yes. Cuz what if he's boarding on the plane right this second?" She stared.

"EH? I can't breathe-"

"You aren't in love. Then why are you scared?"

"Jinyoung- won't be here when I meet up with him. Will it be- alright if I meet up with a guy without telling him about this? Plus, it's not any other guy. He was my first love."

"You're considering his feelings? Oh well, screw that ass. What's more important is your feelings. Do you think your love for that guy will come back when you meet him?" she questioned curiously.

"No. I might be nervous though."

She let out a huge breathe. "Then you're good to go. Coming back to Jin-ae. Do you doubt Jin-ae asked him to come to Singapore on purpose?"

"But- when?"

My phone rang. It was Jin-ae.

"Speak of the devil-" Sakura muttered, with a scoff.

"Come to the airport in fifteen minutes." She said.

"Okay." She cut the call.

"She's literally ordering you around. Anyway, I'm coming too. I can't let anything happen to you. I'm entrusted with you by Jinyoung." She rolled her eyes, getting off the bed. "Now, now. Stop blushing, darling" she imitated Jinyoung, making me laugh.

Jin-ae didn't mention anything about Woo-seok when we met but she told me that she was hosting a class reunion in a few months and that she'll send the invite with the date and timing soon.

"Good riddance." Sakura said.

I started to study for the exams that were coming up in a month. I called Jinyoung but he didn't pick up the call, the next morning. I thought maybe I could see him off at the airport. I didn't even have the chance to say bye to him face-to-face, in the end.

Almost a week passed by and I missed Jinyoung. I somehow managed to dodge whenever Sakura asked me about Woo-seok.

I was coming back to my room from a small restaurant at 9:30 pm. I felt someone following me but I was too scared to turn back. His pace increased, I noticed. I decided to run for it. He was way too fast. He grabbed my arm forcefully. He wore a black mask along with a cap of the same colour.

I tried to kick him and cried for help, but he covered my mouth with his hand. My phone and my bag fell onto the ground. I tried to bite his hand. It was of no use. He was too strong, and resisted more than I had imagined.

"Stop trying!" he yelled at me. I didn't stop. I kept trying to kick him. Was he the same person who tried to kidnap me back at the train station? He pulled off his mask, to reveal his face.

"At least stop now!" He let go of me. I was confused for a second but then realisation hit me hard.

"Ehh??"

"Yes. It's me." He muttered with annoyance, looking away from me, flushing red.

"Were- were you the same one back at the train statio-"

"Yeah."

"Woo-seok? What are- you do-"

"I came to Singapore a week ago, and joined a university here just for you. I- have a lot to tell you."

"Uh- I'm sorry. I gotta go." He grabbed my wrist.

"No. I'm not letting you go again." No. Don't tell me it's happening. Just no. "Just listen to me."

"I can't. I really can't!"

"I said LISTEN! Or else I'll really kidnap you." I stayed silent.

"Yuna- I loved you ever since I met you. I know that you love me too. I know that you loved me ever since from the start. I'm sorry I didn't realize that. I'm sorry for dating Jin-ae. I'm sorry for being a jerk up until now. I hope to know that you'll accept me back into your life. So-"

My phone rang, interrupting Woo-seok. I mentally sighed. I was saved by the call. I looked down, to see my phone on the ground. It was Jinyoung.

I picked up my phone and was about to take up the call when Woo-seok grabbed it from me.

"Nothing is more important than this. No disturbances until I finish this."

"What -"

"No."

"What happened to you?" I started to cry. This isn't the time, baby.

"Is the guy calling you, your boyfriend?"

"Ye-s". Woo-seok gave the phone back to me.

"Tell him you're breaking up with him."

"What?! I'm not even in love with you! You suddenly appear into my life and you're asking me to accept your feelings? You've become more than the jerk when I last saw you. You've- changed-" Motherfuck.

"I'm asking you to tell him you're breaking up and that you already have SOMEONE YOU LOVE!" he repeated.

"You're an idiot. Even if I break up with him- the feelings for him won't go away. He knows it and I know it too." I attended the call.

"Hello?"

"Jinyoung?"

"Is anything wrong?". I could tell Jinyoung that I'm breaking up and later explain the real situation to him. But no. No way. I shouldn't disturb him. His grandmother isn't well. I shouldn't make him worry more. I decided. I decided to make a run for it and hide somewhere nearby. I'll leave my bag here and I'll come back for it, when he isn't there. I cut the call.

I ran for my life and when he was out of my sight, I hid in a turning point, in the gap between two buildings. I switched off my phone when I was there, before Jinyoung could call again. It became fifteen minutes. I hoped he would've given up by then. I found him nowhere, when I left the spot. Seconds later, I picked up my bag and cautiously walked to my university.

Once I reached my room, I switched my phone back on and dialed Jinyoung.

"Yuna. What happened?"

"Huh? Nothing's wrong."

"Don't lie to me"

"I- seriously it's nothing."

"Fine- I'll call Sakura. Bye."

"J-Jinyoung!" I called.

"I'm still here."

"Can I tell you once you come back to Singapore? It's really not that important right now and-"

"Nothing is more important to me than you. If you just ask me to come back to Singapore, I wouldn't hesitate to come back. I wouldn't even think about booking the fastest flight that goes to Singapore. You don't have to worry about disturbing me because that's just a bit of how much I love you."

"I'm sorry for lying-"

"It's fine. I wish I was there beside you to listen to you right now."

"The guy- whom I first ever loved. He came to Singapore and- I met him just half an hour ago."

He didn't speak anything for a while. "I-I'll book a flight now."

Jinyoung's POV

"No! Please no! Your grandmother needs you. I'm asking you not to! I'm fine here. Nothing is wrong. I'm just shocked is all." I could hear her voice shaking on the call. It reminded me when Jin-ae warned me about Yuna still having feelings for him.

"Yuna"

"You needn't come back. I'm not having any problems here"

"Yuna" I said more loudly.

"Yes?"

"I'm not there with you right now," I paused. "Is there a slight possibility that you got those feelings back? Or do you still have feelings for him?"

"No. The one I love is only you. That will stay the same forever no matter what. No matter how he forces me-"

"He forced you? Yuna. Tell me everything and what happened exactly." I knew she accidentally slipped it out. She told me everything and she gave me every single detail.

"I'm sorry for doubting you. And I'm also sorry because I'm taking the flight tonight and I'm coming back."

"Jinyou-"

"It's my decision. And this decision has nothing to do with you." I stated. "I'd do anything if it comes to protecting you. I won't let something like that happen to you ever again. Now, are you in your room right now?"

"Yeah.." She accepted defeat.

"I'll cut the call, now. I have to call and tell my dad that I'm not coming to China."

"Are you sure?" she spoke softly. I wanted to hug her. I wanted go as soon as possible to make her feel safe.

"Yeah. Bye."

"Bye"

I called Sakura asking her to look after Yuna, never letting her out of her sight. Sakura was confused but I cut the call before she could ask anything else.

I dialed my father the next second.

"What is it?"

"I can't come to China. I'm cancelling the tickets."

"What? You aren't kidding me right? You can't do that. Many clients are coming to China just for you to sign a document and you're saying that you aren't coming, so easily? What has gotten into you?"

"I called just to inform you."

"Is it because of a girl?" he asked me frankly.

"Why do you care? Did you care all these years?!"

"I'm asking you to tell me!"

"It is. In fact, if you try to do anything to her, I will do everything in my power to make you regret it when I take over the company. It's already been decided that I'm taking over and I've already signed the contract a year ago, and there'll soon be nothing for you to stop me."

"You're now using that against me, huh?" he let out a small laugh. "In that case. I get it that she's important to you. But will you throw away the company just for her?"

"I would " I stated

"I see. Fine. I'll cancel the meeting with our clients then."

"I wanted to ask. Is that bitch still with you?" I referred to my stepmother.

"Don't call her that."

"Of course I would call her that. She's a prostitute and she married you for sex. Is that wrong?"

"She's with me. I'm cutting the call."
