Two people, two different circumstances. Both Joseph and Aesop joined the "game".

Here, they meet each other. Not as allies, but as enemies never bound to be with one another.

Despite that, their deeply connected hearts longed for each other. They know it's wrong- but they can't stop.

Will they rewrite rules and avoid disaster, or, will their stubbornness only bring about their downfall?

"So, what brings you here?" I said before turning around to face Jack.


He then stared at me intently which made me extremely uncomfortable.


"Will you... Get angry at me?.." He asked in a slow tone.


"Get angry? Why would I?" I said while tilting my head to the side with slightly furrowed brows. I was quite confused on what he was talking about.


"I... I don't know..." Jack said before suddenly walking towards me.


Suddenly, his tall figure loomed over my whole body as he bent down and hugged me. He burrowed his face on my shoulder as I could feel his whole body shiver.


"I'm fine... Can we... Stay like this for a while?" He softly mumbled.


I stayed quiet and merely patted his back.


The funny thing was, I was only about 162 cm and Jack was like 200 cm or some sort. (Yes I made up Jack's height.)


Time passed, in the end, Jack didn't even explain to me why I would get angry at him.


We were at the Garden for a few hours, it was already night and I was quite tired. 


We sat on the bench and told stories to each other, I was extremely drowsy and could barely keep my eyelids from closing. I leaned on to Jack's shoulder and closed my eyes as he hugged me to sleep.


"Is he.. Asleep?" I thought as I stared at the Mercenary's sleeping face. This guy... How does he make himself look adorable even when sleeping? 


"Ehm... I won't get angry..." I heard him mumble at his sleep. Tho he said that, I was still scared and I knew he would still be angry with what I would be doing...


"I'm sorry..." I softly said and kissed his forehead. His hood fell down which revealed his soft, brown hair. I smiled at him and proceeded to carry him to his room.


"So we'll be having another Duo Hunters in two weeks. We need seven more people. Who wants to join?" Emily announced as she sat up from her chair.


"Me! I wanna join!" Tracy exclaimed as she raised her hand high up the air.


"Meh, I'll skip this one." Jose said before standing up and leaving.


And that continued until there was only one spot left.


"Anyone else?" Emily asked before adding. "We still need one more person."


"Also, the next duo hunter is quite unique. Joseph would be joining." Emily added before looking down at her list.


"WHAT?!" The others said unison. "That should be illegal! And besides, wouldn't he-"


"I know. He will be debuffed and can only deal 1 damage instead of 1.5" Emily said before anyone could ever retort back. It was like she knew what was on the others' minds.


"Alright." Emily said before announcing who would join.


"Me, Tracy, Martha, Aesop, Kevin, Naib, Eli, and Luca. Correct?" She said before looking up.


"Oh right, Luca, this is your first duo hunters match, right? I'll give you a guide book later. Plus you have plenty of time to get ready."


"Yeah!" Luca exclaimed before his lips curved an arch. (Bruh, Luca is kawaii~)


"Alright. You can be dismissed." Emily said before sighing and leaving as well.


And with that, everybody left the living room.
