Chapter 16

Rana's rest hours remain in her class. Not because he's afraid to meet gathan like he did yesterday, but because he copied Biology records last week. He had to copy 10 pieces about the Latin names of plants and animals that exist in the world.

There are only a few children left in the classroom. Rana's other best friend had gone to the cafeteria first. She's still busy copying assignments when Kristi and the other friends return to class.

"Here! From your heart,"Kristi said handing over sterofom containing siomay on Rana's table.

"You mean?" asked Rana.

"We met in the cafeteria, Ran. Because he doesn't see you with us, he's tipping this to us. He said make lunch you are again ngerjain duty,"Kia replied.

Rana just stared at the sterofom box in front of her.

"Not in love with poison, Ran. Made by Mpok Minah in the cafeteria. Safe and proven delicacy. You don't have to be wirehir," joked Moka.

"yee, who's worried? I'm just not feeling well. Why would Gathan bother to bring me food."

"PDKT dong, Ran. Food is one of the things that can make the human heart melt," said Kristi.

"Udah, eat, gih!" asked Kia.

Kia and Moka return to their own seats, while Kristi sits next to Rana.

"Yesterday bring martabak to the house, now beliin I siomay," murmured Rana began spooning siomay in front of him.

"Yesterday Gathan brought martabak to your house?" asked Kristi who heard Rana's speech just now.

"Yes, I do. Just for a second, nganter doang not stop by. I don't exist because there's still exculpatory photography."

"Well, meet your parents."

"Yes, at a glance."

"Just wait for the time he plays to your house, Ran."

Rana just smiled thinly.

*******

"Hi, Nar!" greeted Rana as she entered the photography club room after school.

"Hi, Ran!" greeted Binar.

There's only that guy in the room, he seems to be busy with games on his phone. Rana took a seat next to Binar.

"The others haven't come yet?" asked Rana later.

"Keket did not come today, he was on a date," said Binar a little ketus.

Rana realizes how to talk to the sedated Twinkle. "I thought Aneke was your girlfriend, you know. Isn't it?" he murmured later.

"I wish I had." Binar's voice sounds lethargic when he says it. The man then pulled out the game page on his phone and put the rectangular object on top.

"You guys known you for a long time?"

"He was my best friend from childhood," replied Binar, grabbing the basketball next to him and then playing it in hand.

"Oh, pantes." Rana manggut-manggut.

"Pantes why?" asked Binar turning toward Rana.

"I believe that boys and girls can not just be friends / friends. One of them will definitely put a taste in his best friend, whether it's the guy or the girl," rana explained.

The twinkle just shuts up listening.

"You have the umpteenth example to prove that theory."

"Masa' hell, out there are many who can be friends when they are the opposite sex," commented Binar.

"You don't know what's in a human heart, Nar. Even if people out there seem to enjoy their lives as best friends. I'm sure, sometime and since when, they've put a taste on their best friend."

Binar was just silent thinking about Rana's speech just now.
