A Skill to go

The Small Huang Yang began studying the Bronzefire greatsword within his hand. It had a dark steel hilt and a guard above it, giving the sword a cross shape. The blade was kinda short for a greatsword, yet the weight could not be taken lightly. The blade was bronze in color while giving off a warm feeling. The sword would work well with a fire element martial art.

He gripped the hilt with both of his small hands while standing upright with a straight back. With slow movements, he began swinging the sword, feeling the weight within his hand, 'it's not that bad actually', he thought with a satisfying smile.

Lei Nianzus pupils quickly shrank, as he observed the young boy. He began to realize, that this boy seemed to be superior to the grand human tier. At the very least his body should be perfect human tier.

He couldn't help but grow a bit fearful, while pity filled his heart. This boy's talent would never be accepted by the outside, seeing as he came from a small family, holding no true power. At least not yet. The most important thing was for the boy to grow as fast as possible.

"Take the sword boy, when you grow up I will make you a better weapon", Lei Nianzu said with a smile.

Huang Yang looked at him with hesitation before asking, "Is it possible for me to one day make my own weapon elder Zu?".

The question took Lei NIanzu by surprise, yet a satisfactory smile soon appeared as he looked at Huang Yang. "So you wanna be a blacksmith, well then, lets first think about your talent", he said with a smile.

Three aspects mattered when it came to learning how to be a blacksmith, Strength, endurance, and talent. He didn't doubt Huang Yang's strength and endurance seeing his perfect human tier body, he did, however, think about the talent.

A master blacksmith needed to possess the talent of two elements, the first one being fire, which he would be tested in, at the library of martial arts, and the other one being metal. There were mortal elements, water, fire, earth, and wind.

And beyond this, were the worldly elements, being metal, wood, and lightning. It was quite common for blacksmiths to possess a metal elemental stone for themselves, as no one else really found them useful.

Lei Nianzu walked towards a desk not far from them, where he picked out a stone. It had a dark silver color, yet the rough outline of common stone.

"Infuse a small amount of your qi into the stone, I will then judge your talent from how much it glows", Lei Nianzu said with a smile. This child would be a good apprentice if he had just a small amount of talent.

Huang Yang eagerly nodded before approaching the stone. He stretched out his hands, grasping the stone firmly. With a focussed gaze he drow the small amount of qi within his body towards the stone. The light soon began to flicker from the stone, before quickly intensifying.

Lei Nianzu's smile broadened for every passing second as his eyes remained locked upon the stone, he himself knew that this kid already showed more talent than him. Time seemed to freeze as a crack appeared on the stone, leading to Huang Yang letting go, in fear of breaking it.

"Elder Zu, did I do something wrong, is my talent too bad?", Huang Yang said with sorrow in his eyes. Lei Nianzu was visibly in shock.

"No, no little Yang, your talent is very good, go on to the library now, come back when you know your fire affinity... And just call me grandpa Zu from now on", he said with what seemed like a forced smile.

Stars seemed to shine within the eyes of Huang Yang as he left the building with the Bronzefire greatsword on his back. In his fantasy, he saw himself make a sword which could cut the clouds, truly the dream of a young boy.

Sitting alone in his empty room filled with weapons, Lei Nianzu also seemed immersed fully invested with his own thoughts. "Should an elemental stone ever crack, it meant that the person was simply too talented for it to measure".

Alone in his room, Lei Nianzu mumbled to himself, "A son of the heavens".

.....

The Huang martial library had always been the dream of many young people of the family. It was a place where a junior's martial path would begin, as they would pick their first manual here. Most of the people within the library varied between the ages of 12 to 16, most of them not even being from the Huang family, yet one boy had the age of 10 and was seen as the new hope of the family. At least he used to be.

He was the grandson of the patriarch's younger brother. His father was Huang Lang and he went by the name Huang Zhilan. At the age of 10, he had stepped into the opening realm, making him a rare talent, even in the higher-ranked families.

He loved the praise and he loved the attention. Yesterday, however, the world had turned upside down. A monster had appeared by the name of, Huang Yang. The boy even put the talents of higher-ranked families to shame. A six-year-old had stepped into the opening realm.

Huang Zhilan had not been able to sleep all night. The appearance of this boy seemed to have awoken him from a peaceful dream. He could not relax one bit and even felt intense hate towards Huang Yang.

He was now immersed in studying the Roaring flame sword art, as he believed that he would one day awaken the Flame Lion. His greatest wish was for him to be like Huang Shi, who had a mutated martial spirit, which gave him superior talent.

The Martial library had fallen into silence since Huang Zhilan wouldn't show off for the first time ever. So when the door began to open, and the footsteps of a young boy began to shake the floor, every living person in that room turned to look.

A young child wearing white robes walked in. Compared to the other brown-haired Huang family members, the child had darker hair and eyes, yet his face seemed to radiate with happiness. A normal person would find this boy cute but would freeze when they saw the sword on his back. The Bronzefire greatsword could not be hidden behind Huang Yang's small frame, as it almost matched his height. He would have found it too long, yet the weight was just what he wanted.

Huang Wei the son of the patriarch's sister, was the guardian of the library, which gave him a natural observational skill. He had always been fond of Huang Yang and therefore happily approached him.

"Hey little Yang, have you come to check your affinity with the fire elemental stone?", Huang Wei said with a smile, trying to ignore the huge sword on the child's back.

"Yes, and to pick out a manual!", Huang Yang said with a smile. The others going around within the library didn't find it hard to figure out the identity of this child. The number one genius of the Huang family.

Sitting with a book in hand, Huang Zhilan also noticed the arrival of Huang Yang, as it was simply too obvious with the huge sword and the weight to it.

Hate once again flared up, as his eyes locked on to the young boy. Had it not been for his uncle Huang Wei, he would have tried to beat up the boy. If a person with a decent thought process had known this, they would look at Huang Zhilan with disgust.

After a minute or two, Huang Wei came back with the fire elemental stone, giving it to Huang Yang, who began driving his meager qi into it. A light seemed to rush forward, showing a red color. Like last time the light intensified.

"Uncle Wei, maybe you should take it, I'm scared that I might break it", Huang Yang said, out of fear for what happened with the metal elemental stone, which grandpa Zu had.

Huang Wei raised an eyebrow, yet before he got the chance to ask, a crack appeared in the stone. Huang Yang threw it to his uncle before apologizing, yet he still smiled as he knew that he had a true talent for both Fire and metal.

Shock and awe could be seen across the faces of the observers. They had never seen this before, yet knew what it meant. This little guy was a bigger freak than they had thought. Such talent had never appeared in the family. This had likely never happened for the sects they all worshiped so faithfully.

A great number of them turned their gaze towards Huang Zhilan, some feeling pity while others mocked him, for being arrogant. Huang Zhilan hardly cared about all the looks at the moment, since he saw them as nothing more than bystanders and sheep.

He fiercely gripped his sword, not even trying to hide his anger.

"This means I have talent for fire, right uncle Wei?", Huang Yang asked with a bright smile.

Huang Wei still stood in a daze, until Huang Yang's words shocked him back to reality. "Y- Yes little Yang... wait, how do you know that?", he asked with a trembling voice.

Huang Yang's smile only broadened as he answered. "Because the same thing happened with grandpa Zu's metal stone, and he said I had a talent for metal".

Huang Wei slowly swallowed some saliva, before showing a forced smile. "That's true little Yang, go find yourself a sword technique", he said before walking toward a chair with a bewildered face.

Huang Yang hastily walked towards the bookshelves in the sword section, fully ignoring the eyes of unknown bystanders. "Now, time to find a manual that goes to the sword", Huang Yang said with a smile.
