After making his announcement, Huang Canfeng didn't even look back at the house of his son. He walked away, towards the direction of Huang Yang, who hardly had any idea regarding what had just happened, as he was just trying to keep himself from falling asleep.
Huang Long looked shaken and sad, soon panic seemed to appear in his eyes, as he raced back towards his house. He called for his father upon entering the door, yet the former panicked face soon revealed a crooked smile.
Sitting by a table was Huang Qiang who had a red face, he had told himself to block out the words of his father, yet each sentence pierced his heart, bringing him sadness, anger, and embarrassment. As his son entered the room with a smile, he let out a sigh.
Huang Long was only nine years old, yet his smile looked cold, while his eyes appeared to have died in some kind of tragic war. This did not seem to fit with his childish figure.
"We did good dad, my master says that he will advance both of us this time, bringing you to peak awakening realm", Huang Long said.
Huang Qiang gave a hollow chuckle as he looked at his son. He could no longer see this child as his loved boy. "What realm will you advance to son?", he said with a deep voice.
"Master told me not to tell, yet in maybe a couple of years my unique martial spirit will awaken, and we can finally lead this family forward", Huang Long said with a smile, which reminded Huang Qiang about the old days, before this 'master', had appeared.
He was in reality not sure about who he was working with, all he knew was that his son had grown stronger, while his personality grew sinister.
The only sound in the room came from the flickering light, dancing on the table where Huang Qiang was sitting. The wind blew in from an open window near them, causing the light to blow out. Huang Qiang sat unmoving with closed eyes, as a tear quietly ran down his face. The darkness behind Huang Long seemed to swallow him, as his smile widened and the night came to a close.
.....
The next morning Huang Yang woke up as Xiaotian tried to sing once again. He had fallen asleep on the training ground. Life had simply been too exciting for a young boy, like Huang Yang. This led to him falling asleep due to a lack of energy.
A martial artist would in reality have the ability to go a couple of days without sleep, this even counted for people like him who had only reached the first level of the opening realm.
Huang Yang once again dove into the pool, just outside his room before getting ready for a new day. He left his bedroom and entered the living room where his mother and brother were sitting. Huang Yang greeted them and gave a quick hug, before taking off towards the training ground with his sword and manual.
It appeared that his mother had taken him to bed after he fell asleep, as she pointed him in the direction of his sword and manual.
Like yesterday, two people seemed to wait for him outside. His grandfather Huang Canfeng chatted with a middle-aged man.
"Good morning Yang'er, let me introduce you to someone, his name is Pei Min, he will be helping you in the path of the sword", Huang Canfeng said with a smile.
Huang Yang began to study this Pei Min. He was covered with a white coat of fur, yet his tall and lean frame could still be seen. He had brown hair that reached his neck, along with grey temples, giving away his real age.
Has it not been for that bit of grey hair, Huang Yang would have thought that this man was the same age as his father. Beneath the furs were golden brown ropes and black pants. He had a sword strapped to the right side of his hip, along with a gourd to the left.
He seemed to understand Huang Yang's eyes, as he straightened himself, trying to look more dignified than before. He had a handsome face with a charming smile, yet the gourd which likely held alcohol ruined the image he was trying to create.
"Cough, cough, this is the man who trained your father, you should show him some respect", Huang Canfeng said with a slightly awkward tone.
Huang Yang quickly realized his mistake as he bowed to Pen Min, "Greetings elder Pen Min".
"Just call me uncle Min", Pen Min said with a smile.
"I've been a bit busy lately, so I'm not sure about which weapon you picked, or the skill to go, why don't you inform us", Huang Canfeng said with a smile.
Huang Yang almost jumped in joy, in hopes of receiving the praise of his grandfather once again. He drew the Bronzefire greatsword hanging on his back, proudly showing it.
Surprise flashed across the faces of Huang Canfeng and Pen Min, as they thought to themselves, "How come we didn't notice the sword before he drew it, blindness really comes with age...".
With a glint of curiosity, Huang Canfeng took a closer look at the sword. He for some reason felt some familiarity coming from it as if he had seen it before, "The Bronzefire greatsword...", as he realized the truth, he froze.
Pen Min obviously noticed the change in Huang Canfeng's expression, yet before he had the chance to ask, he took off towards the armory, slowly disappearing from their field of view.
Pen Min sighed before looking towards Huang Yang, who simply stood still with a dazed look, facing the direction of his now missing grandfather.
"Do you know anything about your elemental affinity with fire little Yang", Pen Min said while forcing a smile. He found the situation a bit unordinary.
Huang Yang snapped back to reality, before answering, "Yes, that's what I wanted to tell grandpa, it turned out that I have a good affinity with both fire and metal...".
Pen Min felt as though a lightning bolt had hit him. "Lucky Huang family, to think they will one day have a talented martial artist who can work as a blacksmith", he thought to himself.
"Do you know anything about your level of affinity?", Pen Min asked.
"Sorry uncle Min, the elemental stones began to crack as the light got too bright", Huang Yang answered while shaking his head.
As the word sneaked into Pen Min's ears, sweat began to roll down his forehead. He tried his hardest to stay composed, yet he could not help his thoughts from drifting off into fantasy land, "Maybe I should steal him and make him believe that I'm his family", he seriously considered it.
His thought process came to an end when the wind started to blow from the direction of the armory, not too far off was Huang Canfeng who came running full speed. As if a wolf king would catch him any moment.
As he reached them he came to a sudden halt, breaking the stones and rocks beneath his feet, while his hair swirled around his face.
He took a deep breath before stabilizing himself. Stars danced in his eyes as he looked at Huang Yang, "HAHA, the heavens love our family, my little Yang'er has been born with a perfect Human tier body!!", he shouted before taking Huang Yang into his arms, and almost doing a little dance.
By the side, Pen Min seemed to have lost all of his life force, as he fell to his knees. His eyes stared off into the void with no soul to be seen. He knew that Huang Shi had talent, but now it turned out that his son was a fully-fledged monster.
He had almost fallen out of his chair when Huang Canfeng came to tell him, that his grandson at the age of six, had already reached the first stage of the opening realm.
When he found out about this child's affinity to fire and metal, he had honestly thought that they had adopted a demon king in disguise, as his amount of talent in this area seemed far too great. He also thought to himself, that the kid may be a reincarnated god or something.
Then this old man came and told him that the child had a perfect human tier body. This basically meant, that this child already had the qualifications to fight a peak opening realm martial artist.
Huang Canfeng, saw his strong friend go down and instantly tried to help him out until he heard him mumbling, "A six-year-old child, with a perfect human tier body, and unfathomable talent in fire and metal...".
Huang Canfeng dropped Pen Min as his eyes darted towards Huang Yang, his eyes seemed to revere the child in front of him.
From the ground, Pen Min said, "I was wrong this kid is definitely a mix between a devil and god...".
