A Warm Feeling

It took some time for the two men to recover, and even the Huang Canfeng was still giggling to himself in the corner of the training field, while Pen Min seemed to look at Huang Yang, like carefully observing a beast.

Huang Yang had a hard time understanding the confusion and just wanted to get the training started. "How come Dad isn't here grandpa?", Huang Yang asked.

Huang Canfeng's happy thoughts grew, as a smile bloomed across his old bearded face. "Your father has entered isolated cultivation, he has gained some enlightenment and resources after the fight", He said.

"Who did you fight yesterday?", Huang Yang asked, with the thought about his family showing off their might.

"The demons from the west!", said Huang Canfeng with a serious expression. While he was in a good mood, he wouldn't joke about the demons from the west.

"Why did you have to fight them, grandpa, are they evil?", Huang Yang asked with a frown.

By the side Pen Min, began shaking his head, "No one is all evil little Yang, everyone needs resources to live... they aren't that different from us, except humanity currently holds the power", he said.

"If we have power, then why not just help them, so that they won't attack us?", Huang Yang asked, with the innocent mind of a child.

Huang Canfeng displayed a solemn face while trying to put up a happy front. "You will understand this when you are older Yang'er, now, however, we will begin your training".

Huang Yang took out his Scorched Steel sword art so that the two elders could study it. They might not have an affinity with the metal element, but they did have a firm footing in the way of the sword.

The Scorched Steel sword art relied on the use of ferocious, yet stable attacks, a person needed to be unmovable, while still retaining explosive power and great momentum, to when they had a chance to strike.

Huang Yang didn't even get to use his sword the following couple of days, as they trained his body. While he had natural-born strength, his usage and refinement of it, weren't great.

Through their auras, they would place pressure on his body, while sometimes adding extra weight to his clothes. The days seemed to pass by in a hurry until his little brother Huang Xianjun finally graduated from being a three-year-old kid, and became four years old.

As this age wasn't anything special, they only invited some close friends. The people gathered further up the mountain, where a little grass area could be found.

Huang Yang scanned the crowd, his little brother was standing with his mother, along with grandpa Canfeng, uncle Hao, his wife Mo Lin, and their daughter Huang Mei.

A bit to the right was the elderly lady, namely Huang Ran the sister of the patriarch along with Huang Wei holding in his hand his son Huang Tianyi, while his wife stood beside him.

Huang Tianyi was born half a year ago. His mother had been married to Huang Wei for some time and was named Lou Ru. Since Huang Wei wouldn't become the patriarch of the Huang family, marring whoever he wanted wasn't that big a problem. No one really knew where Lou Ru came from, yet people easily accepted her, especially seeing as she was a martial artist.

She had dark blue hair as well as blue eyes, her demeanor always looked calm, and people, therefore, enjoyed being around her. She, however, preferred the indoors, only coming out on rare occasions like today.

Huang Yang had a solemn look on his face, as he hadn't seen his father for a couple of weeks now. "Don't worry, he will show up little Yang", said an old voice, coming from behind Huang Yang.

Jumping up in shock, Huang Yang turned to face the direction of the voice. Lei Nianzu and Pen Min each wore a smile as they looked at the boy. Pen Min grasped his gourd and took a big sip, which triggered a smile from the other two.

"Your grandfather has agreed to let you start smithing when you turn eight. By then you will likely be stronger and far more suitable for the art", said Lei Nianzu with a smile.

The comment made Huang Yang happy as he thought about creating his very own weapon.

Something seemed to cross Pen Min's mind, as he stopped drinking for once and looked further up the mountain. His eyes then met Huang Yang's, as he showed off his milky white teeth. "Looks like your father is gonna show up soon", he said before once again boasting true drinking skills.

Huang Yang's eyes widened as he turned towards the direction, Pen Min hand's just looked. The woods greeted him, showing nothing but the cold darkness, due to the sunlight being blocked out by the branches and leaves.

He would normally feel a chill, run through his body when peering into the darkness. Today, however, a warm wind came blowing out from between the woods, originating from further up the mountain.

An eruption of flames occurred deep within the wood, breaking the tress due to shockwaves. Many trees directly turned into ashes, as a winged lion ascended from the darkness.

It roared with delight as it bathed in the sun, letting its flames run free. Seated upon the lion was a young handsome looking man. He had long brown hair, with eyes of the same color. His clothes were white, with a black belt and overcoat.

Huang Yang witnessed the scene with awe and joy. He knew that his father had broken through to the Spirit Core realm, seeing as he could now ride his martial spirit, clearly showing that it was no longer in a transparent state.

"My little Shu, your husband is amazing as always", said an old feminine voice not far from them. Huang Yang saw his mother's face light up as she ran towards an elderly woman, with light brown hair and blue eyes. While her face had more wrinkles, she looked just like his mother.

"HAHA it's good to see you mother", shouted Huang Shi from atop his martial spirit, before diving down towards the crowd.

Huang Yang's mind began to turn as he looked at the woman. Noticing his gaze the woman turned to him with a gentle smile.

"Hello Yang'er, my name is Xiao Xi, I'm your grandmother", said the elderly woman.

Huang Yang had a confused expression, as he had never seen this grandmother of his. Shouldn't he have known more about her?

Xiao Shu's face darkened, yet she tried to keep her happy appearance. "Yang'er, my mother, your grandmother, doesn't have that much energy, so she normally sleeps all day, not having a way to go outside, unless she takes some special medicine", she said to Huang Yang.

"I'm sorry children, I don't want you to see me as a sick person, so you can only see me when I have energy... Now come an give your grandmother a hug", said Xiao Xi to Huang Yang and Huang Xianjun.

As the two children ran towards their grandmother, Huang Shi arrived in front of Huang Canfeng and Pen Min. "I see you have broken through to the core realm little Shi", said his father, he no longer worried about letting this talented son of him, become the patriarch one day. He believed that the family would grow thanks to him.

"Brat, you really are lucky, to be able to fly in the core realm, is like cheating... better thank that winged spirit of yours", said Pen Min with a waving body. The alcohol had gotten to him, it seemed.

Huang Shi simply smiled and laughed a bit, after which he began to greet the guests. The birthday party continued with a happy atmosphere. Huang Yang played with his brother while trying to get Huang Mei to join them. The grown-ups happily chatted, while Huang Wei almost cried about always having to change Huang Tianyi diapers.

.....

Later that night, the sun had gone down and the guests had left. Huang Yang once again walked along the Northern road, while he saw his simple house appear in front of them. It was made from forest wood, which grew further up the mountain. The training grounds had zero clean spots, just like he loved it. And behind the house was a natural-looking pool placed in the middle of the garden, mostly used by the two children, especially Huang Yang every morning.

Huang Yang had fallen a bit behind, letting him see the figures of his parents walking towards the closed door. Noticing the slow pace of their son, they looked back with warm smiles.

Huang Yang's eyes seemed dazed as he looked at them with slightly tired eyes. Some memories passed by as he looked at them, his father always had a foolish smile when talking about cultivation, due to him being addicted to training.

His mother always had a calming smile and would nourish her children whenever they needed it. She was no good when it came to martial arts, yet she still gave off a special aura.

His younger brother would always foolishly smile, and at times encourage him when he was training. He hadn't started cultivating yet, however, Huang Yang believed that this little brother of his likely had the same martial spirit as their father.

The family called him over as they opened the door, causing a warm sensation to run through Huang Yang's body as if a barrier had just been broken. This small child had unknowingly broken through to the second stage of the opening realm. Two meridians down.
