Sword and Servant

With an incredible amount of speed, Huang Yang ran towards the armory where he would pick up his new sword. He hardly looked at the surroundings he passed on his way. His mind was completely focused.

Like the last time he went to visit, he ran through the door, this time almost breaking it, thanks to his newfound speed and power, along with the sword on his back, adding a bit of momentum.

"You brat!!", shouted out a voice who was for some reason by the door once again. A hand came chopping down, landing right on Huang Yang's small head.

A shiver ran down his body, as he clutched down in pain, covering the top of his head with small hands. A tear almost fell from his eyes, as he locked wronged.

"You did it again boy", said Lei Nianzu who now had a red nose. His clash with the door had been intense. A small apology escaped Huang Yang's mouth.

An entertained laughter came from deeper within the shop, as a handsome young-looking man came walking towards them. His temples were grey, and he had a gourd in his hands.

"Quite the entrance little Yang, good to see you so excited", he said with a chuckle.

Huang Yang looked up and saw his uncle Min, his sword teacher. With a sigh, he stood up and gave a bow to his master.

Seeing this Pen Min mumbled unhappily. He took a couple of quick steps before locking in Huang Yang's head in his arms, almost suffocating the poor boy. "I don't want to see that serious face!".

Huang Yang began believing that his uncle had lost his mind. He tried to say sorry, but nothing happened. Only when he truly began fighting back did Pen Min stop.

"I don't wanna see that serious face when we met, we will joke around and fight each other in good fun!", he said while trying to display a dignified and serious face. But since he had just acted like an idiot, Huang Yang, and Lei Nianzu, desperately wanted to ridicule the man.

Huang Yang's eyes sharpened, while his lips curled up into a small smile. His hand was slowly crawling towards his sword. He had long since figured out how to annoy this uncle during a fight. However, Huang Yang still had no chance of winning.

Seeing Huang Yang's movements, along with Pen Min's now broader smile, indicating his will for a fight, Lei Nianzu almost jumped up. "There will be no! Fighting! Not in my armory", he said with a victimized expression.

The two willful fighters looked at Lei Nianzu with a slight amount of hesitation but soon said their apologies. They had long learned that it didn't take much to get this old man's forgiveness.

Lei Nianzu gave a quick humph before fishing up a dropped object wrapped in cloth. "You came for a weapon, and we have one for you, do be mindful when using it", He said as he handed over the object to Huang Yang.

Huang Yang quietly looked at the wrapped object, before removing the cloth. Within it was a sword hidden in its scabbard. The whole sword seemed to have a square build. as the hilt and scabbard fit each other perfectly, no guard was attached.

With smooth movements, he pulled the sword out. Light silently reflected on its 24-inch blade, giving off a silver glow. The pitch-black hilt was indeed square-shaped, giving the holder a weird sense of control over the blade.

Beneath it was a sharp pummel, giving him more variety when fighting. It had no real guard, but thanks to the blade being modeled after the design of paper, the hilt worked just fine as a kind of guard.

It had a terrifyingly sharp edge, with a somewhat flat back, if he should fight but wanted to stop his opponent for being cut into small pieces. The tip was slightly curved, creating an illusion, as it made the entire sword appear curved.

Huang Yang's eyes were widened to a new extent, as he studied the black and silver sword. It was simple indeed, but the most surprising thing was the weight. "This thing weighs zero or something", he thought to himself.

Pen Min smiled with a great amount of joy as he looked at Huang Yang. "Due to it being so small, you can walk around with it and the Bronzefire greatsword all at once", he said.

"Yes! I can hide it under my coat of fur, with it being black in color, no one will know", he said as light, filled with excitement, emerged from his eyes, threatening to blind Pen Min and Lei Nianzu.

His two elders nodded along with him, but they also reminded him, that he needed to use the small sword when fighting from now on. He needed to practice with it.

This would allow him to only use the metal elements in the weapon when blocking, instead of relying on the natural weight of the Bronzefire greatsword.

Huang Yang desperately wanted to train with the sword, he felt as though this would allow him to have more fun when training. He knew that he had to begin smiling more again, making this a perfect choice.

Maybe he would find someone to fight with among the servants. Some of them had gotten permission to use a manual from the library of martial arts. If he was lucky, he could find someone strong.

Removing all other irrelevant thoughts, he was going to say goodbye, until something hit him. Luckily not Lei Nianzu this time.

"What is this sword called grandpa Zu?", he asked.

This future master of his smiled at the question. As did Pen Min. "This is called Silent Slash Sword, a perfection human tier weapon!".

From then on Huang Yang almost jumped out of the door in happiness...

.....

Huang Yang walked along the main road of the Huang family estate, passing the houses of the Huang family members. He was wearing a black fur coat covering his white robes. His dark brown hair covered in snow ran down the greatsword on his back.

Had other people known about the thin black sword tugged away in his coat, a slight sense of fear would have awakened in them.

He could not remember when he had last been here. He would feel secure in the forest by his house and seldom leave the area. At most, he would journey to the armory or the library.

He, therefore, took in the view in silence. Most houses were far more luxurious than his own. He felt alienized when looking at them, as though he didn't belong, even though his father was the talented young master of the family.

One house stuck out like a sore thumb. The facade was far more luxurious, thanks to a hefty amount of could decor, yet some of it seemed to have melted some time ago.

"This must be uncle Qiang's house", he thought, as his mind remembered the anger of his grandfather.

He had long learned about what happened that night when he had fallen asleep waiting for his father to return. Huang Qiang had ignored the demon attack, allowing them to kill multiple mortals and soldiers.

His uncle should be powerful and would be of help to the family. But that day he didn't help out at all, moreover, he didn't even acknowledge his father, the patriarch's words, when he came seeking an explanation.

Huang Yang felt as though the devil was looking at him from the house. He quickly turned his head back to the road, continuing his walk along the main road.

In all honesty, he didn't see that many houses before reaching the wall. Shock appeared in his eyes, as he had never known that a wall was placed here. Just how isolated had he been all these years?

A gate had been made to allow people in and out. At midday, this door was fully opened for all to see.

On the other side were two guards, each standing on their own side. Since Huang Yang was on the inner side of the wall, they were facing the other direction, unable to notice him.

But he saw them, and the curiosity of a child ignited. With silent steps, he inched his way closer to their position, wanting to study them.

Each of them had a long red spear, along with black and red robes. This seemed to be the standard guard uniform. They each had metal armguards and a helmet, just to provide extra protection, should a fight break out.

Huang Yang imagined himself getting into trouble should he mess with the guards.

His eyes scanned the walls, assessing their height. He slowly began stretching his legs, while slowly warming them up, following which he spun his arms to circulate his blood.

He grasped the Bronzefire greatsword in both of his hands. "Time to put that weight to use". He had been training for some time now, giving him time to learn a couple of neat tricks.

He spun one arm with the Bronzefire greatsword in hand, as he ran towards the wall in a hurry. He began driving his qi in an explosive movement.

He and the metal elements connected as he launched up with the tip of his sword aiming for the top of the wall. The enhanced speed of the blade and the power in his legs allowing to reach new heights, as he flew through the falling snow.

However, Huang Yang had underestimated the power he possed, or overestimated the height of the wall. With an unstoppable force, he surpassed the wall in a hurry.

Beneath him were many simple brick houses, painted white by the snow. further out were fields filled with crops, yet he could not enjoy the view for long as the ground was quickly approaching him. But he was just happy that he could meet the servants now.

He had, however, forgotten that he had agreed to go with his grandfather...
