Hope Bringer or Hope Destroyer

"You spoke a lie!" They accuse her the flame sparked green.

"No I didn't!" Iona crosses her arms as the Flame sparked blue.

"Tein, what just happened?" A Ogre questions.

"Human, do you know what this Flame is?" Tein asks calmly trying to figure it out.

"No?" Iona thinks about it. It was a lie detector of sorts, but this was different. She normally was pretty clever, but this was not something she understood.

"The mind knows more than what we can access. This flame questions the subconscious with absolute guarantee." Tein shares as Iona tries to interpret what had just happened. The flame sparks blue.

"So if it is a question then the flame stays normal and if it is a answer then based on the subconscious then the flame sparks blue or green if it is true or not?" Iona questions.

"Correct." The flame sparks blue.

"That must be difficult as not even the subconscious has all the answers even the right ones. I mean I think Damon is still here right beside me, even though he's gone. He'd help with the bad things, but he did it to save the people. He was in a fire." Iona shares.

"Is this true?" Tein asks.

"Yeah." Iona answers and the flame sparks blue.

"Let me ask your subconscious another question, it would explain the green spark. Answer yes." Tein looks confused. Iona nods giving them permission.

"Is it absolutely for certain that this Damon is alive?" The question is asked. Iona stays quiet not wanting to know if she left Damon alive.

"Yes." She finally answers and the flame sparks blue. Iona begins to cry.

"You have told us nothing but the truth, you are a worthy friend to us Ogres. You must tell those you trust The Dark Winter is coming. We shall inform our own, and thank thee for the knowledge." Tein explains standing up.

"What is The Dark Winter?" Iona wipes her tears.

"A great winter comes after many decades and lasts years sometimes. There has been talk of a dangerous energy coming. They have been kidnapping all species and taking their energy but they need all of us. We have been preparing for many decades since we had word of the next great winter. This time it will be a bigger bloodbath and loss than all the last great winters combined. The elven royals know more of the prophecy, but they keep it to themselves and hide away in order to keep their kind alive, they are selfish. We know not much else other than to get ready and wait for the word of the human elf hybrid. If they know about what is coming it will be too late. If it is us who tells them we have a chance. This dark winter will take many of lives, good luck human elf. Tonight we prepare for war. " Tein looks towards the others and they all look like they are already dead. They looked so sad they definitely didn't want to fight, and now because Iona they were forced to. It was much worse than Damon had ever explained.

"Tein, one with full armor comes this way with sword in hand." A Ogre sticks their head in.

"Prepare to fight." Tein instructs with a sigh. Iona curiously walks out and heads to the front to see Jurgen running towards them and then slowly coming to a stop as he arrived at the gates.

"Worried?" Iona smiles.

"What, no… I was told that they were terrorizing humans and I came to… finish them." Jurgen answers.

"Thanks guys. I have to find Damon. Jurgen they aren't what you think. Come on." Iona looks back and the Ogres look so confused on what had just happened as they had prepared in full armor to fight this warrior. To Jurgen he was equally confused how not only she came out, but according to the metallic ring around her head that they also made her royalty of some sort. There was clearly something he was missing.

"What happened in there?" Jurgen asks breaking the silence they had till they reached his blazing aurator.

"I helped. And they said Damon was alive." She looks to the ground knowing that Jurgen would say they they lied to her.

"I see. They then convinced you of that?" Jurgen asks.

"Yep." Iona nods.

"Ok. Well, I need to go to the capital of Ishnal. If Damon was looking for you he'd meet us were I needed to go. Since I have the Capital seal on my armor I think that would be the first place he'd check. Do you agree?" He asks. Iona nods. Jurgen felt bad to prolong her suffering, but at least in the capital there would be lots of distractions.

"Jurgen, what about finding someone to watch over me?" Iona brought back the point.

"We have to go its at utmost urgency, plus, you have to tell me how you got in there and what happened." Iona only smiled.

"Jurgen?" She got up on the aurator.

"Yea?"

"I think I did something bad." She took a deep breath.
