Seeker Examination

With the amount of time I spent together with Xir, I have gathered a lot of things about his behaviour and view and I am proud of him.

Hehehe, I knew I am a genius but damn did I create a true masterpiece. All hail the glorious genius of Lethia Gafale, the greatest scientist who surpass even the mechanical skills of any of the four races.

Wait, I am getting distracted here, ehem, this is my observation of specimen 069 [Verdand]. As I have thought in my hypothesis, his emotional capacity is very limited, in the lab we failed to teach him anything as we have previously thought he was still asleep.

But after some fortunate and unfortunate encounters he is beginning to show some hope of gaining an understanding what emotion is.

His growth as a person is visible in his speech, back then he speaks like a pre-programmed machine but as he grows he showing more emotions even without his knowledge.

Moving forward, his growth is already astonishing. As we head for the city of Polaspe, he would have reach 8 years old.

He had reached the level of pinnacle Platinum-Grade Mana Manipulator and is quickly growing stronger. Once he reaches Diamond-Grade his connection to the Origin Worlds will heighten thus granting him the chance to get another element.

Specimen 069's advancement is particularly as time is short. He only have a few more years before the others wakes, but he had already awakened the ability of his lineage after experiencing a near-death experience.

Even though it is a little outdated, it seems like that truly is a way to draw out the potential of any mana manipulator. Well, learning from the battlefield had indeed strengthened the soldiers outside the Sanctuary so that's proof.

That concludes the current growth of specimen 069, his potential is unknown but something is drawing out his potential without my knowledge. His emotion had already shown and I can feel his hatred seething inside his chest. The time when Von's corpse appeared in front of him still haunts him to this day.

Xir's POV

I have reached Polaspe, and it is much more bustling than any city I have been in before. It took me three days to get here and after paying the necessary amount, I was granted passage inside the City.

This city is known for hosting a lot of Seeker Examination every year in this particular region of the Thalius Continent so it is quite normal for everyone here, but not for me.

This is my first time in such a place. This city is too lively, it is even more lively than the red light districts he visited in the past and that place is like a festival every night with prostitutes calling out for customers that would pay them and fill their bellies with food later.

Well, I supposed it is no different than the Red Light District. After all, a market place is filled with people who call out to customers to buy their product to earn money and fill their stomach later in the day.

When I thought about it that way and transformed the view in front of me as some kind of elaborate version of the Red Light District I actually managed to get enough courage to walk with both legs.

My wandering around the city led me to an old restaurant, it was an open restaurant and didn't have many people inside. It was also dilapidated and it only served two people.

One of the two was a Titan with his dark skin. He wore a hat as if to hide his identity.

The other one would be an Elf who was very leisure with his demeanour, he was Viryon who acted like a noble like he always does.

I entered and sat with these very two people and looked at Van who looked at my arrival.

= "Your late." = He said, = "You already got both limbs, why are you still so slow?" =

= "I was getting used to it, see, the muscle composition is still not the same with the other." = I showed him my limbs and he shut his trap.

On my way here from the swamp where I killed the Python, I already got used to walking and moving with all limbs. My movements were awkward then because my sense of balance was all messed up.

The build of my left leg is now more muscular than my right that had just been recovered. After I got my limbs, it may match my current age, but it will not match the build that had been attained for a long period of running and walking with one leg.

It moves like a normal leg. In a day to day life, it may not show much effect but when it comes to a fight, such difference will become more apparent. Thus, before I got here I trained both newly gained limbs to an extraneous extent.

Although both limbs could only function 20% of what the other two could do, it is still much better than before.

Viryon looked at me and extended his hands.

= "Show me those limbs." =

= "Why?" =

= "Just trust me on this one." =

I did what he requested and extended my left arm to him and even showed my pitiful left leg.

Viryon waved his hand and gathered Nature's mana on my body and my mismatched body began to hurt and itch. I wanted to scratch my body but it soon went away and when I looked at my limbs, I saw them be perfectly matched.

Although my left leg and right hand had lost most of its muscle density, my right leg and left hand had grown exponentially. It was magic, well, it really was.

= "I used the Nature Element to align your vitality, it's not so hard to do, most Elves do it. It's like the Body Manipulation of the Martials." =

I just nodded my head. I am an elf, at least a part elf and I am supposed to have nature element but sadly I don't. But Viryon said that do not worry, because my Nature Element merely transformed into the four basic elements that I wield.

Food arrived at the table, the two had already ordered before I came so it seems. Lucky because I can now eat for I have been starving.

We ate as we talked.

= "Viryon, did you receive any news about this mission? Why did they send us here exactly?" =

Van asked.

= "The Region of Lina has three major cities, Polaspe is one of them. Here, there are over 50,000 people Mana Manipulators try to become Seekers every quarter of the year. This place is treated as a hub by many hopeful Seekers so those who pass will have their names spread.

"The people who pass become important figures who are sent to important missions and gain access to important information. Do you get what that means? We are here to become top ranking Seekers and spread our name, in short, we'll become famous." =

Van stood up and began flexing his muscles.

= "Hmph, this will be easy, I have already trained enough to become untouchable by people of the same level." =

= "Don't get too excited, no matter how good you are the passing rate is said to be 10,000 is to 1." =

I listened and after hearing, I smiled.

= "That is quite high." =

= "I know." The two answered at the same time.

Tomorrow would be the start of the examination.
