Mina

"Do you know where the room is?"

"Yes I do, thank you very much!"

The sound of a door opening is heard before a teenager looking a little too serious stepped inside. Wearing a black suit while holding a bouquet of roses he closed the door before taking slow but heavy steps. Gripping the end of the bouquet tighter he sighed and inhaled deeply before walking past the curtain that had blocked the patient behind it.

Past the curtain lay a youthful girl was sleeping, by the looks of it she seems to not be affected by anything, her face a normal color, her hair was a light brown that rested behind her shoulders and upper neck her seemed to reach down to half of her arm. The look on her face was one that seems very peaceful, her breathing steady as her heart rate was kept on constant watch seen on the monitor beside her bed.

Beside the bed a vase of different kinds of flowers sit. They appear as they had just been put there recently. Slowly walking over to the side of the bed, Jason reached hand out as it slightly trembled before touching the sleeping girl on her cheek.

"Mina.... today is the eighth anniversary for the Heaven's Fall event... and the anniversary of the passing of mom and dad..."

"I brought you some flowers before I bring one to mom and dad... I don't...think they would mind..."

As he softly spoke he realized he was having trouble getting the words out so he ended up stopping while looking at his little sister. His heart hurting as thought of when he first saw her like this...."

"Mina!!!" A panicked shout was heard as a little

Boy pushed open the door and limped inside. With bandages on his arms he ran past the curtain before snapping his head to the bed. He ignored the nurse looking worriedly at him before slowly stumbling over to the bed. As he reached out to touch the little girl he heard the nurse finally speak to him.

"Little boy... this girl is in a coma, the damage to her head is severe so we don't know when she will wake up, please do not cause trouble for her"

A soft voice was heard as the boy looked back at the speaker. This boy was naturally the 8 year old Jason Richardson.

As his eyes went red he screamed at her with his angry but very childish voice, "This girl is my sister! What do you mean she is in a coma! She responded to me last night when I was beside her..." he looked back at his sister and slowly climbed onto the bed ignoring the nurses warnings. Jason crawled beside Mina and sat there staring at her. He slowly put his hand on her forehead and began to cry uncontrollably.

Present Day...

After he cleared his mind, Jason gently pinched Mina's cheek before walking to the other side of the bed. "Ms. Rutherford got these prepared in advance this time... I think I'll be the one to give her something next time" Jason sighed as he changed most of the roses from the bouquet into the vase. As he rearranged the pattern the vase looked like a caterpillar had changed into a butterfly. The assortment of flowers with their varying colors immediately brought another level of happiness into the hospital room.

Jason looked at his hand which held two roses each before looking over to his sister. Leaning over slowly he put his forehead against Mina's. "Little sister, I will work to help you regain consciousness, just give me more time please..."

After standing straight Jason sat in the dead beside the bed before talking about the news to his silent sister. After talking for a few hours to her, feeling some form of a response from her, he stood up and walked to the door of the room.

"It's time for me to go visit mom and dad, I'll come back tomorrow Nina." As he opened the door and stepped outside a nurse standing to the side smiled at him.

After returning the smile and turning around to look into the sunlit room once again, a single tear dropped onto the floor before he wiped his cheek with the back of his hand. Jason released a sigh as he walked away holding those 2 roses in his hand.
