Another knock resounds through the room, startling me out of my thoughts. My heart speeds up with trepidation at the possibility of who it might be. Rising up from the bed, I walk slowly towards the door, a small part of me hoping that it's one of the kids. Two girls came knocking on my door last night because they were scared.


 I open the door and freeze when I see Carlson standing there. I hide behind the door with an even smile, but inside I'm quaking at the prospect of what he might want. "Do you need something, Carlson?" 


Carlson's smile is sloppy as he drunkenly pushes the door open and stumbles into the room. I step back, creating some distance between us. "What are you doing, Carlson?" 


He ignores my question as he moves closer and runs his gaze down my body. My skin crawls at his inappropriate appraisal.
