I watch as she walks away. I want to call her back, but things are better this way. I'd rather break her heart than see her dead. I thought I was going to die when she fell to her knees. She was so pale. Something about that bothers me, but I'm too wound up to think more about it. 


Closing the door, I walk back into the apartment and slam my fist into the wall. The woman, Tessa, comes out of my room and strides towards me. "Is she gone?" She asks with a snide smile.


I nod my head, keeping my eyes trained on the door. Every part of me tells me to run out and find Jade. Tessa places her arm on my shoulder and whispers in my ear. "You know…we can make this real. I can make you forget her."
