The creature

He had learn from Alex a lot about this world and humans. He told Alex about his home. He loved the way Alex face light up at everything he was telling him.

He felt sorrow when Alex left and immediately missed him. He enjoyed talking to someone. After all these hours alone, you start to go insane, little by little, minute by minute, till you don't know who you are or what's going on.

He started to feel this way as the hours past. He slowly lost himself in his thoughts. Was he himself? Or was he how friends? Or wife? He almost couldn't tell. He started acting like each and every one of them.

But now he had Alex, or at least he hoped he'd come back. The thought of him not coming back made him more depressed and anxious. He wanted tomorrow to come. He wanted to watch Alex's eyes shine in inspiration and imagination.

He wanted to tell Alex more stories of his home. Of himself. His real self, not one created from hours inside his memories of his friends and family.

And he wanted to hear more about Alex. He wanted to learn a new person. He wanted to talk to someone, anyone, about anything and everything.

He missed his home. He feel asleep thinking about what he would tell Alex tomorrow.

He dreamed of his home. Of his beautiful wife. He's wonderful children. His amazing friends. His house. His world. His life. Even the damned cat. He even missed his evil cat.

The cat in the cage reminded him his cat. It hit him there and then how much he actually cared about his cat no matter how evil it was or how much he hated it. He still loved it. He still longed for it. He still misses it.

He woke early. Too early. The sun had just started to rise, painting the sky a fiery red.

He'd have to wait a while for Alex since he didn't say a time.

He tried to go back to sleep, but failed. So he decided to walk around. He found himself by the clearing so he went to go check it out.

When he showed up the sun had rose halfway over the horizon. He could see just fine in the dark though so it didn't matter to him.

He saw the body of the man he'd hurt laying on the ground. He'll have that for breakfast. As he was eating his meal, he heard meowing.

The cat was still in the cage. He walked over towards the cat. Upon seeing him the cat moved back as far as it could in its cage.

He bent down with his blood soaked bony hands and picked the cat up. It was shaking and seemed frozen in fear as he sat the cat down outside the cage, it's fur stained with blood.

The cat didn't run away, instead it looked up at him, surprised. He decided to go back to his home. He was surprised to find that cat following him.

Wasn't the cat scared of him? Why did it trust him enough to follow him? What does it want? He sat down on his log.

The cat started to rub against his legs. Blood smearing across its fur. After a while it jumped on his lap. He scratched its head and behind its ear. Soon the cats white fur was dyed blood red.

He sat there petting the cat all day. Soon it was around the time he met Alex yesterday. He heard footsteps approaching his cave. Alex was here. But he wasn't alone.
