One Party after Another.

After a week, Yue was now allowed to roam around the hospital.

The people around her are so protective that if they could, they would not let her move at all. But she was not angry at them, just a bit annoyed and amused and thankful.

Just as she passed by another VIP room, the door suddenly opened. She caught a glimpse of the patient but she was far away to get the complete outline, even so, her heart shook for some reason.

Yue was not able to continue looking since she was already blocked a madam.

The madam was not hostile when she saw her. In fact, she was even smiling kindly.

"I'm glad to see you're doing well now. I'm Dianna Haven by the way" Dianna used her maiden name to introduce herself.

In County C, it was not mandatory to use your husband's surname once you get married.

Yue matched the name from the information she just learned recently and found out that she was the current matriarch of the Lancer family.

Yue felt conflicted.

She was the mother of her enemy.

But she can feel that the madam meant no harm to her. It's not good to mix grudges. A daughter has her own mind and might not necessarily reflect her parents attitude to other people.

Yue decided to keep civil about it.

"Thank you. I'm Yue Crest, it's a pleasure to meet you Mrs. Lancer" Yue decided to address Dianna formally, they're not close anyway. At this point, she's still not aware of the engagement between her brother and her enemy.

Dianna can see that Yue was neither warm nor cold to her but she didn't mind. Somehow, from the first time she saw her, she felt fondly for the child and wanted to get close to her.

That doesn't mean that Dianna was an easy person to get along with, in fact, she was a snub. But only for this child, she felt a strong connection.

"You don't need to be so formal, you can call me Auntie Anna" Dianna wanted to break through their barrier.

Yue was surprised by the kind approach of the matriarch. Even if she is a part of the younger generation of an aristocratic family, isn't the madam too amiable to her.

But Yue can't also deny that she felt comfortable around Dianna, if only her daughter didn't play a role to her death then her feelings wouldn't be so entangled.

"Auntie Anna" Yue ended up calling Dianna as her auntie upon the madam's insistence.

"Good child, where are you going right now? Let auntie join you. You've just recovered and it would be better if someone could escort you during your walks. You might get tired and someone should take care of you" Dianna instantly got into the role.

Yue helplessly looked at Dianna then to her bodyguards and personal nurse.

Yue surprisingly got along well with Dianna. They have lots of things in common.

They didn't notice the time passed by so fast with each other's company.

"Yue" Yyan arrived at the place Yue was staying as reported by his subordinate. When he saw her being close to the Lancer matriarch, something flashed his mind.

"Brother you're here! I was just talking to Auntie Anna. I didn't notice the time" Yue was not surprised to see her brother. He will always come around this time to accompany her.

In fact, her hospital room became their second home. He had his own bed placed besides her and a makeshift office at the corner of the room. It's like they were in a studio apartment.

"Madam" Yyan shifted his eyes on Dianna.

"You've always been like this, eventually you would call me mom. Can't you at least call Auntie" Dianna spouted unhappily. She was satisfied with Yyan being her son-in-law. Besides marrying into a higher status, he was a reliable man through and through and her daughter will not suffer, her only concern is that he was too stiff.

"We'll talk about that if the time comes" Yyan was not afraid to dismiss Dianna.

"You-" Dianna can only sigh helplessly.

"Look Auntie it's already late, your family might be looking for you for dinner. I'll see you next time okay" Yue seeing that it's awkward between her brother and Dianna decided for an excuse, besides she suddenly felt tired.

"Child, you should definitely come and see me after. In a few days it would be the birthday celebration of my father-in-law, you should come along with your brother okay?" Dianna was pretty adaptable and forgot her former defeat.

"I will Auntie" Yue smiled weakly.

"Alright, I won't hold the two of you back. Take your dinner as soon as possible and rest early" Dianna left them first.

The two of them headed back to Yue's room. Silence reigned between the two of them.

Yyan was curious about Yue's attitude. Although she acted normally earlier but he noticed she was surprised by the news of his engagement.

Yyan wanted to know about her thoughts regarding the matter.
