Close Call

For Yue it was all or nothing.

She tried to grab the vase and broke it.

She took a shard and stabbed her hand to keep from succumbing to the drug.

As the blood flows, so is the drug being flushed out. Now it's either she died from blood loss or lust. But she knew her brother would rescue her before that happen.

Yue heard several footsteps. One, two… five heavy footsteps.

Yue smiled mockingly.

How cruel, to actually want her to be toyed with by five men. Just how deep the grudge this person to her is.

She doubt it was Ashaina this time. Yue was sure that the woman will not dare touch her as Yyan sister.

Then could it be an enemy of Yyan?

Hmp. She won't let them have their way.

The wound she made didn't exactly alleviated her condition to the level she wanted to achieve. Her knees give up from time to time, and the heat is spreading faster. But her newfound desire to resist Yyan's enemy gave her the will to endure.

The door opened and the men poured in.

Yue needed to think fast.

Then she suddenly slumped on the floor.

The men who entered the room was assaulted by the smell of blood. They thought they would see a dead body, but was instead greeted by an alluring scene.

The woman was sitting haphazardly in the floor, looking helpless and dazed, surrounded by shards of glass. Her blood were like scattered scarlet petals in contrast with her the fair skin. Her long silky hair was a mess but it only added to her innocent and wild look. Such a was like a devastatingly beautiful angel that have fallen from the heavens.

The men were not given aphrodisiac but at this moment, they felt like they were injected with one. But no one made a move as if afraid of ruining the beautiful picture.

Even the crown prince could not help but loosen his tie from the other side of the screen.

He had his share of beauties, but why can this woman still elicit some reaction from him. Damn it.

He almost reached out to her when he saw her suddenly falling.

He knew he could not continue this kind of attitude. It was the first time he ever doubted whether he was doing the right thing.

"What are you standing dumbly for!" the crown prince shouted at the intercom to wake up the stunned men.

The men knew they cannot delay their mission.

One of them took Yue out of the floor and trying to bring her to bed.

Yue didn't resist so the man unconsciously treated Yue more gently. But before they can reach the bed. Yue gathered her strength and swiftly targeted the man's neck with the shard she carefully concealed in her hand. In a matter of seconds, she killed the man.

One can really summon strength in the midst of desperation.

But even so, given Yue's condition, almost all her strength was given in that one swing.

The men didn't expect such an action coming from a weak looking woman.

Yue grabbed the bed cover and tried to head towards the door.

The men blanked out only for a moment.

They tried to grab her once again but Yue used the bed cover to bind their hands together. She was like gymnast swishing her ribbon. She left them tangled.

Yue managed to run away. But every step she take felt like a knife stabbing her lungs.

Her originally weak body was now getting more heavier due to blood loss, but the good new is, only a quarter of the drug remained in her system.

But Yue knew nothing will ever happen if she just run aimlessly like this.

She was actually inside a large mansion. Although there are lots of rooms of which she can hide, but that would only work if she can shake away her pursuers.

It's not as if she had a big advantage against them. In fact, they are just several seconds away from catching her.

Yue doesn't want it to end just like that.

Didn't know if someone heard her pleas, but all of a sudden, the surroundings darkened.

She knew it was her chance.

Yue didn't stop from running.

She used her superior hearing to guide her through the place.

She used the walls as a support.

In the middle of her wandering. She heard a slightly hallowed sound.

She knocked the wall several times to make sure she heard right. Then she tried to search for a switch or trigger.

Sure enough, there was a hidden room.

Yue heaved a sigh of relief.

What she didn't know that this was the work of a man from a distance. She didn't even realize that her pursuers are now nowhere to be seen as they fell into one of the contraption installed in the mansion.

Yue can't believe her luck. She knew she only managed to escape from the men because they don't have a background in martial arts but just mere pretty boys.

At least her abductor still considered face value.

But that's not the point.

Yue didn't know how long the outage will last, she needed to find her way out fast.

The crown prince was surprisingly calm despite the interruption in his plan.

"My Prince we should move out. The place has been compromised" the assistant just came back from checking the reason for the sudden outage but he can't find the cause. He believed that someone tampered with the system.

"There's no need. You leave me alone for now" no amount of emotion that can be read from the crown prince.

"But-" the assistant was worried. The place was supposed to be hidden and equipped with the latest security system. Not even the hacker hired by the Royal family can invade it. An outage is impossible.

"Do I have to repeat myself?" the cold voice resounded through the darkness.

"This servant won't dare. This one will excuse himself" the assistant realized that he maybe needed to reevaluate his attitude towards the Prince. He might be getting impertinent inserting his suggestions and will here and there.

The assistant was not yet far away when he heard the prince suddenly laughed all by himself. The hairs on his neck stood up.
