Justice Reckons

"Its 3 years today since we unjustly lost Layo to the cold hands of death and yet justice in identifying her killer doesn't seem to happen sooner, anytime and ever", Mr Biobaku said to his new friend - Ogbeni Alakija while they sit at their usual spot for relaxation.

Ogbeni Alakija is an educated and averagely rich man, he is the father of Soyinka, the long time and school friend of Ayo..

"One thing i want you to know is that; patience can cook a stone to tenderness. Justice might not seem feasible but I clairvoyantly believe that the culprit will be exposed sooner than our thoughts. Everyday is always for the thief but one day, just one day is for the owner and I believe that the one day is reckoning. Layo's spirit will hunt her killer down, the wait won't be forever my friend", Ogbeni Alakija responded.

He continued;

"That reminds me, I was informed that the Final Examination Council (FEC Exam) for the final year students will commence in two months time and the registration closes in two weeks and I know Sade is in her final year and she is eligible to write the exam".

Yes, I am very much aware too. Everyday Sade calls my attention to it, she is actually yet to register. Not been able to put the money together but I'm doing all I can. I'm hoping until next week, if my Alternative A doesn't proffer effective response to her exam registration then I'll trigger my Alternative B which is reaching out to the Cooperative Bank to lend me some money while I pay in instalments, Mr Biobaku said.

I can't afford letting Sade miss out on her Final year exams, this is her only opportunity to get to the university, Mr Biobaku emphasized..

Sometimes I find it weird anytime I see you make some decisions. Your daughter is yet to register for her FEC exams which the importance of the exam is known to everyone and you couldn't inform me. Honestly, such gestures defines me useless and naive, I feel bad! Ogbeni Alakija exclaimed.

"I'm sorry, I never meant to be paranoid, I was just being empathetic. You've done enough for us, you've at all times responded to every financial calls from my family. You got me a new job, paid our house rents, among many other mind blowing gestures and sacrifices. It will be inhumane of me if i keep schlepping you with my failed responsibilities", Mr Biobaku said..

Ogbeni Alakija interrupted;

"Don't talk like that, please don't. Someday, wealth will go and all that will remain is HUMANITY. There is more to life than just Money.

I'll take responsibility for the exam fee, worry not!"

He Continued,

Don't you know that 'Destiny' is a very powerful context of life. I knew Ayo, your son through my daughter Soyinka, and through Ayo, i knew you, and through knowing you, we became friends.

You might not possess the financial buoyancy but believe me you're blessed with amazing kids. Just take an inward look at how well your kids are morally, academically and socially performing. I must be honest, sometimes I get jealous. Just be grateful, you got the world at your feet my friend".

"Thank you for everything, may your pocket keeps reinvigorating", Mr Biobaku said.

"Amen", Ogbeni Alakija replied..

"However, I think Ayo and Soyinka should also take the exams next year even though we know that they're due for the exams in two years time. Their academical progress is impressive, I think we should challenge them to write the exams next year. I'm positive they will come out with flying colors.

Mr Biobaku who was busy consuming his Natural roots bitters slurped and asked;

Next year?

Would the government allow that?

"Sure!

They will.

We are paying our money. Thus, with their results, our kids will prove their level of geniuses, and the government will be proud of that", Ogbeni Alakija emphasized.

I hope you know that by next year, Ayo will be just 15 and Soyinka will be 14, do you think their respective age can handle the Final Year Examination?, Mr Biobaku asked.

Yes!

They can, I believe.

The entire community knows how smart and brainy Ayo had grown to become among his peers. I believe he can channel such rhythm into Soyinka and they can challenge their seniors together. Don't think about the fees, I'll take responsibility and I'll also get both of them an extra lesson teacher that will urge and prepare them. All we need do is to encourage and pray for them. Shikena! Ogbeni Alakija concluded.

Mr Biobaku arrived home at the late hours of the evening after having a long hour talk time with his friend; Ogbeni Alakija.

"Aduke, call me Sade. I've got good news for her", Mr Biobaku said.

Sister!

Sister!!

Father said he got good news for you, hurry go meet him, he is at the balcony, Aduke happily said.

Sade acknowledged;

"Okay, thank you. Right way."

"My dear, I've got good news for you. Take, this is for your FEC exams", Mr Biobaku said.

"Thank you Dad, I love you", Sade joyously replied.

"Don't thank just me, extend a huge hunk of the thanks to Soyinka's Dad", Mr Biobaku claimed.

"That man is a God sent to our family. I actually don't know how to thank him but I will always pray for him. May all his generous gestures towards my family be hugely rewarded.

Is he outside?", Mrs Biobaku asked.

"No, he is not. He dropped me off and zoomed off some minutes ago", Mr Biobaku reclaimed.

Where is the noise coming from?, Mr Biobaku asked.

Why the commotion?, Mrs Biobaku asked her neighbor, an aged woman popularly called Grandma.

"They said the chiefs are calling for the entire community occupants to converge at the kings palace and that the King claims to have a confession to make", Grandma narrated.

The king?

This is strange!; Mrs Biobaku exclaimed with an astounded look on her face.

They all prepared themselves to visit the King's palace to witness and the strange occurrence that is about to unfold.

What could the King's confession be?, Ayo who recently woke up from his sleep mumbled to himself.
