Noisy chattering from the corners of the palace, every occupants of the community are spewing their different opinions in respect to their sudden call to the palace.
Three ladies who were standing very close to Ayo and his family started a conversation that echoed to the ears of Ayo;
"That king who always has his eyes sparked with strikes of thunder, I know he is not just a devil in the face but also a devil at heart, let's hear what he has to say", the first lady said.
The second lady with a stripped wrapper countered the first lady while clapping her hands from right to the left and said;
"People find it easy to judge but they find it almost impossible to understand".
She continued;
You don't talk like, you don't just judge people like that, it's unfair and inhumane. The king is a good man, his dynasty have by the history embodied good people who have reigned and those who will still reign. I have numbers of people who have grossly benefited from the kind gestures of the king, let's hear him out first, before we crucify him."
The third lady responded; well, its a two side of a coin, but to know which side the King belongs to, we have to wait and hear from the Chiefs and the King himself.
"I hope its not what I am thinking, but to think of it, the King is a good man to our family, he stood by us during our trying times, sponsored our school fees and fed our stomachs, why should I be negative about him? Why am I allowing my thoughts to immensely deflagrate the good the King has done? I should stop being hypocritical, the King is a good man, and that's final! Ayo rhetorically regurgitates and mumbled.
And here comes the Chiefs and the King, Sade said to her family who are lost in other conversations.
"Dear people of Aiyekooto's Community, we greet you and we humbly apologize for keeping you waiting despite the inconvenience we caused you with our sudden call. We appreciate you for gracing our call.
Without furtherance of any ado, the King called for you all, he has since yesterday been chewing the words; "I have a confession to make". He neither made it known to us what he has to say nor his families, this actually put us in a state dismay for its so unusual of the King and he has been sick too, but here he is now, let's maintain perfect decorum and hear the King out", Chief Ladoja said.
My people, i just want you to forgive me, I hope the gods forgives me too.
I have done so many bad and hurtful things
"Wow", the crowed echoed with the waves that divulge the gestures of a surprise.
"I said it! I said it!! Ntor!, didn't I tell you that the King is a bad man?" the first lady advocates.
"Shut up and let's listen", an Old man besides her reacts.
The King continues;
"I have been having restless nights, I think my bad deeds are hunting me and I may not survive it but I don't want to meet my ancestors with a stomach filled with lies and deceits".
"I am the one reponsible for the deaths of Mr Lakowe Ayeni and Mr Richard, 5 years ago. I diabolically cursed the bus to crash because I used them in exchange for power and money"
The crowds are already in a state of unrest.
"You killed my husband, you this wicked man", Mrs Ayeni said in a teary voice..
"You killed dad, this man killed dad, I must kill him too", Ayeni angrily reacted as he was firmly held down by his mom and extended family members around while he was attempting to go pound on the King.
"I was also the one with some politicians who engineered the kidnappings that has been happening in the community, most especially that of Layo, the daughter of the Biobaku's family"
"Éemo rè lààfin", the gutted Eldest man in the community said.
"You killed my daughter, this wicked man, I must tear you into pieces today, you must go and join her today", Mrs Biobaku fiercely reacted.
Ayo, Sade and Aduke could do nothing but cry, they held themselves together as to avoid angrily reacting too.
Mr Biobaku who had suddenly disappeared from the crowd appeared to be approaching the King's confessional seat with a glistening cutlass, one which he took inside the basket of a farmer who was carried away by the confessions of the King and forgot the idleness of his cutlass.
"I'll cut you into pieces today, just as you cut my daughter into pieces, I'll behead you today", Mr Biobaku brutally emphasized..
Commotion everywhere, crowed panting, everyone got dispersed as Mr Biobaku was careless running towards the King with the cutlass.
The Chief servants and Ogbeni Alakija placidly gripped the hands of Mr Biobaku to avoid him doing as he claimed on the King.
"Father, Father, Father, please don't! Ayo, Sade and Aduke all chorused.
"Leave me, let me behead this hypocrite, this devil in human flesh, he killed my daughter and fed my family with her blood. This man needs to die by my hands, he must die today", Mr Biobaku advocates..
He becomes effortless, broke down and started crying, endlessly saying; "My innocent Layo, My innocent Layo".
"Take this man to the den, he has been dethroned from the kingship title, he is a disgrace to his generation. We will deal with him later", Chief Akanmu said to the guards.
The Biobaku's Family came together to hug their dispirited and broken father.
"Stay strong my friend, this devil shouldn't make you a Killer, you're a good man and that's the difference between you two", Ogbeni Alakija emphasized.
"Please, we are sorry for bringing such doom to your family. We plead by the name of the gods", Chief Akanmu said to the Biobaku's family.
"Let's go home, Justice has prevailed. Soyinka, take and hurriedly get me some fruits and energy boosters from the market, meet me at the Biobaku's house", Ogbeni Alakija said.
