Justice Humanly Prevailed

"Imú níkà o, kọ̀ jẹ́ ka gbóòórùn aṣebi (Heartless is the nose for it prevents us from smelling the evil doers), despite being very close to the King, his incessant visitation to our Family, his financial extension to us, we couldn't smell that he is the source of our bitter tears" Mrs Biobaku heartily soliloquizing.

Ogbeni Alakija sat with the Biobaku's family saying;

"I was earlier telling my friend today that justice might sometimes look bleak but the eventuality is that, it will prevail. I learnt a lesson from my grandma while growing up that 'Anytime i encounter things or happenings that seems unchangeable and beyond my control in life, I should just assume it as prevailing of destiny and i should leave it all in the hands of the Almighty' and so far this has been a virtue of life for me and it has guided me in all my tribulations and trying times."

He continued his advocacies;

"The King might discernibly seem untouchable because of the stealthily corrupt politicians he is empowered with but believe me patience might be the most expensive virtue for human to possess in times of panics but it is a time bomb possession for the Almighty and when its ticking is over, we will know that there is no one who will hurt people and go unpunished!

He continued;

"Sade, these are some fruits and energy boosters, take this money too, ensure you feed yourself and your younger ones well, also ensure your mom eats well too and when your dad wakes, after eating, give him some energy boosters. I need to go home with Soyinka now, the dusk is leaving for the night. Take care of yourself.

Ogbeni Alakija and his 13 year old daughter - Soyinka waved goodbye to the family of Biobaku and drove off..

Its a new dawn, the entire community is yet to shrug off the confessional shock of the dethroned King that trailed their heart yesterday.

Many community occupants are advocating for justice to be done on the King. Ritually, the King is supposed to be sent of permanent exile into the deepest forest but modernization has practically and unconsciously revised and transmogrified the exhibit of tradition.

The King isn't the only culprit, he works for politicians too and this might change the face of justice..

From afar, we heard riotous voices echoing like that of an elephant, everyone suspends their chit chat and advocacies as the coming voice stole their attention.

"We no go gree ooo, we no gree, the King must die, we no go gree", this was the repeated chantings coming from the approaching crowd leaded by the community youth leader - Mr Falana (An averagely educated man in his early 30's)

"We must let justice prevail, we must not pretend like everything is fine, if the Chiefs are scared to effect tradition, then we will effect justice with our hands. Join us as we storm the palace to fish the King out and do justice before his corrupt cohorts comes to pick him up and send him abroad," Falana emphasized.

Some youths consented to this advocacy as they all picked stones and some other harmful objects but the elders and some families like the Biobaku decelerated and rejected the idea of "Jungle Justice" as they withheld themselves at home while the others went to the palace.

The protesters rampaged the palace and carelessly dragged the dethroned King out of his hidden spot

The Kings wife, kids and chiefs helplessly crying out for mercy from the people but everyone extended a deaf ear to their plea, perhaps this is beyond the chiefs. The guards of the palace with guns were overpowered by the numbers of the protesters and their fierceness.

Stones flying from every corners of the crowd, the dethroned King is losing his grip, he is watered with blood and yet to lose his breath. The protesters felt he might not meet his death a quick pace, they put up a fire and lynched the dethroned King, the whole crowd cheered as they believe the dethroned King got what he deserved.

The chiefs and the guards remained powerless, the protesters attempted to burn down the palace but the sound of the sirens that indicates the coming of the policemen dispersed them and placed them on their heels. Perhaps, the arrival of the police officers was too late to salvage the life of the burning King but their arrival was enough to keep the palace safe from the rampage of the protesters.

However, they couldn't nab anyone for this uncivil lynching because the siren had encouraged the protesters to flee before getting nabbed..

"Good morning sirs," the head of the police officers greeted the chiefs.

"Good Morning officer," Chief Ladoja responded with a panting breath and quivering voice..

He continued;

"But your arrival was too late, you can see, that's the King burning," Chief Ladoja said.

"Really?"

The policemen chorused with an astounded gesture..

A police officer hurriedly picked up a bucket to get water at the nearest running water, but the chief were reluctant in encouraging this effort because the King has been burnt beyond recognition. The officer continued and quenched the burning fire.

"Sir, can you identify the culprits?" The Police Officer asked.

"Yes, I can. This protest and lynching was engineered by Falana and some of the community youths. I'm sure you know Falana, the youth leader." Chief Ladoja said.

"Yes, I do," replied the police officer..

"Officers, move in, the culprits won't be far from getting fetched, they just fled this scene," the head of the Police Officers instructed his men.

After some few minutes driving around the community after meeting the absence of Falana at his residence, they saw a friend of his dodging the policemen, he was approached and questioned, with threatens he gave the policemen the hideout of Falana, just few meters away.

They unexpectedly caught him at the spot where he was trying to escape but he was powerless in front of 5 police officers with a gun.

Falana, the youth leader was arrested alongside six other youths in the community, these were those who instigated the protest, engineered it and actualized it.

The entire community knows the dethroned and dead King was responsible for all the kidnappings and killings in the community but the youth putting justice into their hands is what the law is against..

They drove Falana and his cohorts to the Police station to go face the punishment and face the law when necessary processes has been done..
