The Hunted Hunter

What breaks my heart isn't solely about my son trying to blackmail an innocent teenager but for my son to possess the confidence to make an evil plot against an innocent soul without him feeling remorseful and doubting his conscience is what bring tears to my heart and tears me apart.

I'm his mother, he was supposed to trust me, share his pain with me, find peace in my arms.

Supposedly, y'all didn't discover this plot and it became successful, I would have seen my child as a good one and believed that Ayo is a thief because he got no evidence to exonerate himself..

However, I'm glad such plot didn't meet the dawn else I would have been unconsciously hypocritical.

She continues;

"The plot will go as planned."

Ayo who suddenly wear a look of dismay was so quick to question Mrs Bernard, perhaps, he was thinking that the principal's wife is truly being hypocritical in ensuring that her son do not witness a public disgrace and maybe a suspension in school.

Mrs Bernard continues;

"However, it will continue with a different target. This time, the hunter will become the hunted.

This is how we are going to go about it, its 10:30am by my time now, Ayo, you and your sister will return home now and you must not discuss this issue and the plan with anyone. After getting home, wait for extra 30minutes and then leave for your school.

Soyinka will hang around with me for some minutes, I want my husband to meet her at home with me, she will be my passage of leaving the house, the principal should be back soon.

So, myself and her will meet up with you both in school.

"Do you all understand?" Mrs Bernard asked.

"Yes, we do ma." They all chorused.

"Now, we have talk the talk, let's work the work. Remember, do not initiate our plans with anyone, not even your parents." Mrs Bernard reiterated.

"Understood ma." They all chorused.

Ayo and sade both took their leave to go home, working towards the plan cheered by Mrs Bernard.

While they were taking strides of steps home, Ayo said;

"I never thought Mrs Bernard could be this honest and welcoming. I was so surprised that she was so just and truthful to the situation even though it involves her son. Only if every mother could be like her. She was just too honest."

"Worry less brother, I told you she is a good woman.

However, I don't think she is hurting her son, she is only playing her role as a mother in ensuring that her son don't grow up to become someone who finds pleasure in hurting others." Sade said.

Few minutes later, the principal (Mr Bernard) arrived home with Olu after a brief time on the farm.

Olu who has been a great admirer of Soyinka's beauty and brilliance was all full of smiles after meeting Soyinka in his house.

"Your excellency ma, good to see you, I hope all is well?" The principal asked.

"All is well sir, I just came to see big mommy, just a female discussion sir." Soyinka said as she chuckled.

"Alright then, I hope big mommy has hosted you well?" The principal asked.

"Yes, she has offered me some chocolate biscuits. I'm okay with that." Soyinka replied.

"Alright then, enjoy your stay." The principal concluded.

"Good to see you." Olu said to Soyinka with a chuckle filled with roses on his face.

"Thank you." Soyinka replied.

"I'm set now." Mrs Bernard said.

"Honey, we want to hurriedly see someone, I'll be back in few minutes." Mrs Bernard said to her husband.

"Olu, make sure you peel those pawpaw, offer your dad some and reserve the rest." Mrs Bernard concluded.

They zoomed off to the Holy Boys and Girls Trinity school with Mrs Bernard's Peugeot car.

Some minutes later they arrived at the school meeting Sade and Ayo at the gate.

"You both seemed to have arrived early enough." Mrs Bernard said.

"Yes ma'am, perhaps, we were anxious." Ayo and Sade chorused.

"No, you were not anxious, Ayo was." Mrs Bernard said as they laughed.

The all exchanged regards with the school security officer as they claimed to come hurriedly use the school library knowing fully that its a Sunday and school do not run on weekends but the library does.

Mrs Bernard who has been solemnly praying that this reported plot that was made by his son wasn't true met nothing but the exact report that was narrated after opening Ayo's locker to discover that some amount of money owned by the principal was truly placed in Ayo's locker. The look on her face spells "Disappointment and Sadness".

They took the money out of the locker and went to place it inside that of Olu's locker.

"Until till tomorrow, no one should know about this, no one should even know we came to the school today, apart from the security guard of course." Mrs Bernard emphasized.

"Understood ma'am." They all chorused..

"And Sade, you need to return home with your brother and spend the rest of your day reading cause you'll be having Mathematics exam tomorrow." Mrs Bernard claimed.

"Yes ma, that has been my greatest fear but I know I'll conquer it. However, Ayo has been sharing his time with me in tutoring me." Sade emphasized.

"All the best of luck." Mrs Bernard concluded.

They all went to their respective homes knowing fully to them that the innocent won't suffer for what he knows nothing about nor will the evil get heaps of praises for what he doesn't deserve.

After returning home, Ayo couldn't stop starring at the clock. This one time, he prays the weekend ends quick and the sun shines on a Monday.

In his state of pondering, waiting and wondering, Aduke approached Ayo.

She said;

"Brother, I actually had a dream yesterday, but I can't really remember though, but its nothing serious."

"Tell me about it our clairvoyant madam," Ayo jokingly said.

"It was more like you were in a battle with someone, no, not someone, its some people. They were much against you but you conquered them all with your fist, you were powerful, you were so big, you looked like a hunk.

That's just the dream.

I know my brother will always win, so that's why I'm not much bothered about the dream." Aduke concluded.

This was the only time Ayo took a breath of relieve since the realization of the plot against him cause he believes that the dreams of Aduke will always come through.

He returned back to study with his sister, but he is still anxious for tomorrow.

"Sister, what will tomorrow be like?" Ayo asked.

"Tomorrow will be fine and you'll conquer again." Sade concluded.
